I watch your videos on the Bimini crossing. We have a Cobia 262 and are planning on doing the crossing in April/May. Why don’t you take your Cobia 350 regularly on this trip?
I have taken the cobia to Bimini but if I’m only going with a few people like my wife and kids I’ll take the SeaHunt which takes the chop great and I save on fuel (v8-v6) and marina which they charge by foot! I also did a a trip in the cobia in which I did not record at all I actually enjoyed that trip without the work. Now in this trip I wished I was in the cobia instead but did not think it was gonna be that bad
if necessary you can get a rubber / canvas fuel bladder 25 - 50 gallons (you can put it in the front to keep the nose down) and it will allow for extra fuel; when able hand crank it into your regular fuel tanks = good to go!!!...good times.
I love this video as it is my dream to own my own boat and do the same trip - several times like you. lol. Just notice at 18:19, were you driving on the wrong side of the road for a bit? 😂 I hope that you had a great time.
Nice video and the boat can take that fairly mild slop. The USA seems to love open bow designs, but I can't help thinking that a closed bow design offers far more seaworthiness offshore, especially down wind, should you stuff it. Any reason you are not wearing a life jacket? in UK it is required under maritime by all commercial seafarers in small boats.
Not in the USA maybe cause my boat is not commercial and instead a private vessel! They do require it for kids 12 and under or when riding a personal watercraft
What is the length of your Boat. Make and model if you don’t mind. I am looking to get a boat . I like the ride for the weekend. I have boating experience just looking for something I can do a trip like that. Thanks for the video
If you want a more comfortable ride, just take all trim your tabs up cause you got kind of a following Se, and also slow the boat down about 5 to 10 miles an hour. It would be a cakewalk. Just take you about 20 more minutes to get there.
Yea if I told my wife that she would be like hell no I rather get there already, 20 min earlier! I did take the trim up to about half way to not dig the bow too much going over the following seas.
@@MiamiLiving305 do you bring an extra 6- or 12- gallon gas can? do you always run in the "channels" that most boaters from Miami run in, to Bimini? There's safety in that?

I’m curious about the Cobia. As someone who has more than one boat I get it, but I have 2 different boats. A 20’ ski/fish and a 30’ express cruiser. Different boats for different jobs. Maybe I missed the video where you talk about it, but why buy a second 30ish foot center console? I know those boats aren’t cheap and the cobia seems to not get much use. Why not a cruiser as the second boat. As much as you cross to the Bahamas it would make sense to have a boat you could stay on. Either in a marina or out alone on the hook. Anyway, just curious. To each their own. Safe boating.
Cobia is for family trips as my family is quite big. In 2023 I never had the chance to do that big family trip I wanted to pull off but in 2024 I will! I want to start doing over nights on the cobia me and the wife which is one reason for the boat ! I also wanted a boat with more range which the cobia does for spots that are more far! This year a lot of my plans have not worked out and that’s why you have not seen the cobia as much. I have also gone out a few times in the cobia and not record it. Soon the cobia will get more use along with my ski! As you you get older time becomes the biggest problem you have.

That’s what 60 degree deadrise looks like. Waves were to close together so had not choice to trip down and I usually also trim engines up 2 tabs to even it out

Trim the out drives up until you feel the the boat break lose the put one tab until you feel the boat move and then the other one the same way and the more tabs you use the bow will go down . And by trimming out drives you use less fuel and get more speed.

@@kennethhoffman7216 I would like that one day!
In my opinion he needed to trim the bow up. No tabs, just use the drives. That boat is plowing more than it should.
That’s what 60 degree deadrise looks like. Waves were to close together so had not choice to trip down and I usually also trim engines up 2 tabs to even it out
That looks like the good life!
Hey you won’t hear me ever complaining!
sup bro, how much was to rent the whole house with the polaris per day?
Polaris is included with house the link is in the description of the video.
This is Bimini. It looks like Ft Lauderdale. What happened to Bimini?
The Hilton and cruise ships
@@MiamiLiving305 wow, it use to be so quaint and village like, not honky tonk.
Yep not its tourist and golf carts everywhere.@@roadboat9216
Do you usually gas up at Bimini?
No I have enough fuel for a 4-5 day round trip
@@MiamiLiving305 What's the cost in fuel for the trip ?
@@CamHC I usually put 220 gallons before I leave and I usually get back with 100 gallons.
Not bad, must be really nice and fun thing to do!
Nice running video now it’s time to sell the wife on a catamaran lol. Love my eastward 30 it loves the rough seas.
Take her out on a rough day once and I’m sure she will be sold!
@@MiamiLiving305 take a test ride on one eastward boats is on the east coast in fort pierce. I’m on the west coast out of Clearwater we regularly run 60-90miles offshore. I have some running videos on my page. Look forward to a Bahamas run one day.
@@HeadedWestFishing Yea man if you like fishing, Bimini is def your spot!
@@MiamiLiving305what does it cost for a week there house rental or hotel to typical food and drinks?
@@HeadedWestFishing depending how many rooms you need and how much you drink and eat out or catch and/or cook your meals in Airbnb’s.
@miamiliving305 man i got a 2022 234 ultra with a 250 yamaha you think I can make it on a good day?
heck yea i have crossed with a few 23's and on a good day you make it no problem.
I remember my 1st time driving in the Bahamas! 😂 Why didn't you admit the error to educate the viewers?? Awesome video though!
I always go on the wrong side for the first 20 sec till I see a bike or car heading at me head on! I had cut the camera before I had time to admit it on camera lol.
If you think that was bad, try NJ to Nantucket in a 38’! Please captain Dunzel, relax in your little Bimini crossing! It’s a joke.
There is always that one lmao
Where’s the pink hat?
You got the wrong channel bud
Living large @ 1,500 a night! 😎🤙🏼
Did not have to pay anything that weekend but yes for 1500 a night this could be you!
Sync the engines dude!!!!
Engines sync automatically

Thank You Dr4062
It's looks flat. No curvature.
Camera never does it justice.
@@MiamiLiving305 Btw, beautiful video.
Why don't the other boats around you just follow you in your wake?
Sometimes riding behind the wake is worse then side by side comfort wise
All these horrible center console boats!!
Thanks for the 5 comments
aman
Thank you Capt.
How about you not drop your pizza on the sand for the poor puppy?
I thought she had a good grip on it when I let go of it!
THAT!!!...is not 2 feet out of the inlet / pass...maybe 10 inches...lower the trim tabs and haul ass
Not gonna argue with you over 12 inches lol thanks For the comment!
Trim tabs should be totally up, just trip the drives there Captain bozo!!!
Sometimes trim the out drive up trim tabs down just a little while running with the waves 💪🏻
What does “trip the drives” mean?
Trim the out drives up until you feel the the boat break lose the put one tab until you feel the boat move and then the other one the same way and the more tabs you use the bow will go down . And by trimming out drives you use less fuel and get more speed.
Bye bye!!!!
✌🏽
Get a bigger boat. Like a 80 ft
Need to hit the lotto for that lol
@@MiamiLiving305 I was joking fam
