@@siman211learncpp is the best i started with brocode who is amazing at explaining as a 6 hour introduction to c++ then i used learncpp as to reinforce, also take a look at the docs when you grasp it enough+the c++ programming language is a very good reference book aswell

Java is the programming language with literally the most job opportunities. Anyone that's ACTUALLY in the industry knows that. if you know Java, you got a job. The only thing even close to it is JS. I agree with Python and PHP though, but not sure where you got Java. That couldnt have been further from the truth, considering there's more Java jobs out there right now than ANY other language.
If you know PHP and want a Laravel job you apply for a Laravel position. You don't apply for a JS junior developer position as a PHP developer, because then they'll tell you that they already got Bob. You also don't apply for a PHP position as a C# developer or a Scala position as a Cobol developer.

Been a coder since the 80s (BASIC, Assembly, Pascal, Perl, Fortran, C etc) and C++ is a terrible starting point if you're a complete beginner with no prior knowledge. PHP on the other hand is a great and a better choice than JS.

IMO C++ is not the ideal first PL to learn because C++ lacks memory safety/garbage collection, so memory allocation/deallocation has to be done manually in C++. Memory safety is an absolutely essential knowledge to master, yet programs and games suffer from bugs and have to be constantly updated because even experts can't allocate/deallocate memory correctly. And the most severe vulnerabilities in code often stem from memory leaks.

As a developer with more than 15 years since I started learning coding, C++ and PHP are good starting points. Python is new too and very powerful.

My first language is a Q basic on DOs, the second is C, the third is Java and Fourth PHP
With concepts, C++ is slightly easier than the past.
Python is a good introduction and can help when you need to script. Then Typescript instead of Java and then Rust…Rust is the new C++
