Once a year, I go a little insane looking for this song because I can't remember the name and all I have to go on is that it had a colorful album cover of a beach and it had "Tribute to Nujabes" or something on it, but when Nujabes died, basically every hip hop instrumentalist put out albums and songs with that kinda wording into their songs and albums. But I did it. I'm finally here after exhausting amounts of searching. Here's to the song I will never stop loving but will always keep forgetting. Cheers everyone. Rest in peace Nujabes. Still thinkin bout this kinda music a whole decade later.
You can find this because it is 'modal soul classics 2' , after the nujabes album 'modal soul', also this was made by Jun's close friends and collaborators like uyama hiroto.

Only a real true soul brother could sample from a soundtrack like Schindler's List "Give Me Your Names" and turn such a somber, understated moment of redemption and tragedy into one of the most laid back odes to chill beats ever made.
@@PKshockwave For me, this sounds very "enlightening" and "eye-opening" somehow, like the feeling of broadening my views to whole new sights akin to when I heard the song Horizon as well. Truly moody sadness is when I hear End of the Road by Uyama Hiroto, that just sounds so mellow in a soothing tone; it sometimes makes me cry.
Crazy how artists like this still have their creator abilities to make such masterpieces like this in this dark twisted world we live in. RIP Nujabes, I hope your still making music wherever you are.
Yeah, music can be good catchy song, but this type of meloty just speak to your soul if you know what i say. Always love Nujabes, because it let a legendary legcy to his friends let them create mastepieces like this
I had heard this song long before I watched Schlinder List. When I watched it, it was like something familiar to my ear. Now this track hits differently...
Aww, shucks. Of course it has to be a beach in the album cover... I miss the ocean. I miss traveling in general. Make for a perfect match are these tunes and travel. Tracks like Kumomi work so well while passing through rural areas, Faure and Lamp are great for the trip back home from the beach, you name it. Really hits you with the feeling of longing to visit the places again. Through the road with an abundance of lamp posts, City Lights gives flavor to the night. Starting to get drowsy. Nujabes' discography is like a journey on its own, isn't it? Too unlikely for anyone to read this, but hey, have a good one, reader.

The subtlety of the music, yet the beat makes me want to bump my head, even though it sounds like an orchestra would play it. Uyama Hiroto mixed the elegance of an orchestra, yet squeezed the beat in there to make it sound divine. THIS IS THE BEST SONG EVER! (simply put)
Haruka is straight-on smooth with this down-tempo mixer, the strings pulls you effortlessly into an voyage of the senses, mind and spirit ......to a distant place in time, where moment by moment ...unwinds. The pressing alto-sax delivers the haunting-ever-ready happy-sad notes to engage the emotions of it all......with the return of a good-nite.....now fading-out with the over-dubbed vocals that tells of another story behind the musical-landscape......njoy the journey.......Tribe Of Judah
music like this makes me wonder what other artists are out there right now who's work I'd fall in love in, and if I'll find their music only after they pass away

Pure bliss. Melancholy backdrop but there's something else there, in the reflection. What is it? A touch of redemption? Or is it that feeling when you're ready to carry on your way? Not like a good bye - but a full farewell.
For anyone wondering, I looked it up and Nujabes died in a traffic collision in February 2010 so this album released in November of that year was a great tribute. Can't find it on Amazon Music but it might be on iTunes now too.
I can't thank god enough for making me discover this great artist that Nujabes was and at the same time making me discover this music as well. Great stuff
