Never use source marks on gear unless it's for style feats in the HoL or episode elite gear for the feats, utilize marks for allies, artifacts feats, and styles to sell at the broker. If you run omnibus enough you'll get the gear you need too run end game content. You're marks are gonna be the most valuable thing on you're character.
Source marks and skill points, with correct artifacts and augments to boost your critical stats, are what new players need to focus on. Know your role, and how to use your role in the content. If you're a tank, be a tank. I have a new fire\tank toon that's legit, and im putting all my sp into dominance. I wanna make them npc's dance for me, so high dominance will make them bounce when I need them to. Also, WWs Lasso is perfect for that role with hi dom. It's hard to find a good tank that knows how to taunt and pull, and to keep the bosses/npc's locked in place. GGs yo.
