    Such a gentleman and class act. Many young actors could learn a thing or two about manners for this great man. When I met him it was like meeting a friend.

    Bless this man, a kind and thoughtful individual with a true mastery of acting. Kept giving interviews too through Covid, right up until his passing.
    The world will be a worse place without him.

    He's such a sweet, modest, gracious, classy man and a huge talent. That beautiful voice.

    I met David Warner in 2001 when he returned to the stage in the play Major Barbara on Broadway. He hadn't done a play since the late 60's, so it was brave of him to come back to the theatre. He was magnificent in the play. I met him at the stage door twice and he was so sweet, gracious, humble, down to earth and gentlemanly. One of the thrills of my life.

    PS: Talking about "before you were born" ... he's been one of my favorite actors since I saw him on the big screen in Time After Time in 1979. I know it's outdated, but it's still one of my favorite movies, and it's mostly because of him. I can't imagine a remake, and I'd have no interest in watching it. Unless he were in it, of course! ;)

    David Warner would be amazing as a detective in a murder mystery movie!!! Hope there's a director out there who sees this interview! One of my all time favorite actors and a real gentleman. I had the pleasure of meeting him a few yrs ago

    RIP David Warner - One of the most underrated actors of all time! The youngest ever Hamlet and a class act villain on film. Such a humble guy, probably never realised how brilliant he actually was! I watch massive films like Titanic for example and look forward to his scenes! A Legend!

      +queenflash2012 I agree! (I think Alberto was being ironic perhaps? ;) ) Hey, at least he knows how to use Google now! Unlike his Time Bandits character, he used to hate computers. Hmm, maybe that's why. ;)

    • @mooncove
      @mooncove 8 років тому

      +queenflash2012 Haha, or Sark. (What they were saying about computers in that movie actually WAS gobbledygook! And funny that he managed to see it in 1978 when it didn't come out till 1982. The only thing about it that kept me awake was David Warner having THREE roles in it. I suppose his playing a villain in that was another reason he's afraid of computers! Hmm, I get the impression if he ever wrote a memoir, he'd call it "I'm Not Sark." ;) )

    Hmm, very interesting interview. I really wish he'd write his memoirs ... except I saw on some spurious website that he said he wouldn't want to write a book just because he wouldn't want to have to do a book tour. I don't know why that would require a book tour. Does he know he can self-publish (print or e-book on demand) for free and do NO publicity whatsoever? Also ... he's always been far too modest; I know he doesn't care about what billing he gets if any, but I'll watch a movie/TV show/whatever he's in just because he's in it, so I wish he WOULD get higher billiing! Anyway, thanks for getting him to do this interview & also for the website, now that he's finally accepted having one. It's sad that he's had fansites in the past (which he knew about) but never gave any acknowledgement to or even replied to letters from the people who ran them. It seemed that he replied to everyone BUT people who made websites about him (who were very hurt by it), so you really lucked out, Stuart!

    Google needs to immortalize his voice as one of Google's translator voices. Or some program to record every word of it, so we can have a Jon Irenicus for some experiments. 😂

    Bobsheaux once brought up how Warner was meant to voice Shockwave, during the Transformers:Dark of The Moon film.
    Now, had Shockwave been exactly like his G1-Self and stuck to being the scientist, then yes, Warner could've easily played the part.
