26:45 hurt my heart :( This is my favorite game too and I tried to play the same way with base vitality, charmless and no memories (the rest was allowed tho). I gave up while fighting Owl at the lookout because I just couldn't find my way around the poison and died from said poison in the middle of the fight when I deflected everything perfectly. That made me actually stop playing the game for a loooong while. I know that feeling when the perfection was harder than you thought, it physically hurts... But it doesn't make you any less than said youtubers, they usually go for IS ending not purification, this is actually hard. You finished the game and to be honest homecoming is the best ending anyway :D
Your editing and honesty in this video (regarding Owl Father) made you my favorite Sekiro tuber. Congrats on making it through!!! This painful run reminded me that today actually, in celebration of my final NG+ cycle before I get 100% (achievements) I decided to torture myself by fighting the Demon of Hatred charmless and with the Demon Bell on, just like I had done with every other boss previously on that run... that run was already quite difficult for me, so I cannot even begin to imagine the pain and emotions you felt while doing this!!! Shortly put; in my eyes it cannot get much harder than this, well done! :)
This is seriously impressive. Really well done. Just reading the restrictions made me want to cry a little lmao, but damn you made it work, and like Isshin told us, there are no rules, you just gotta make sure you win. I'm sure he would 100% approve of all manner of cheese, the old troll. And hey I learned a few new things! Didn't know you could wall deathblow dogs. Or that you could have more than one puppet at a time. Definitely will be trying that out! (Also that you can deflect the shiled guys but that one is down to me perpetually going "oh wait you can deflect that?", even wayyyy past the point where I should know better.)
@@umbekWhen I found out you can deflect the trees growing out of the clouds in P1 of the Divine Dragon fight, I think that should have been the moment I accepted that absolutely anything can be deflected in this game. And yet.
The ape duo don’t wait their turns, though, unless it’s specifically the scream attack. The scream triggers the headless ape to become docile, while the “headfull” ape charges at you. That’s my favorite strat to use while fighting them: attack the headless ape once or twice, stay close to it, trigger it to scream, run away and focus on the other ape, attack it to your heart’s content, repeat.
They do wait their turns, for all kinds of different attacks. Sometimes they will attack at the same time but usually it's because you're close to both of them at the same time. If you keep your distance through most of the fight they wait their turns for the vast majority of it
@@umbek the arena is too small to keep distance from them at the same time though. They do have sequential attacks, like the overhead slam from the headless into the jump from the other one, but it’s exceedingly rare to see them “take turns” and the only consistent strategy I’ve found is the aforementioned scream-retreat-firecrackers-attack tactic. Every other tactic is mostly luck based.
@@sablepaul441 I've done this fought dozens and dozens of times and I see them take turns very consistently every time as long as I keep my distance, and I don't agree the arena is too small to do it. I don't feel luck has much factor when I go into this fight
@@umbek since we’re both speaking from experience and you clearly have more of it, I feel no need to argue further, as I, too, might eventually come to the same conclusions. That’s not really the point of my comment anyway, I wasn’t critiquing your opinions or your videos, I was just trying to express my frustration at the way this fight has been treating me my last 6-7 playthroughs and give people a very consistent strategy of dealing with this fight. Either way, your videos are great, you have an awesome channel, keep it up, would love to see more!)
@@sablepaul441 no worries, I didn't really think we were arguing, just comparing experiences. Good on ya for finding a strat that works and thanks for watching 🤘
I remember beating Owl Father at Level 1 vitality + charmless with Bell Demon first try. Honestly, to squeeze in more damage, it's probably the best to have Mortal Draw, and use that instead of the Jump kick. But if you want super aggression with consistency, Nightjar Reversal is probably the play. IF you allow yourself combat art updrades... I mean, I could definitely do Owl Father completely level 1, but the only reason I won't do that is because of the process of GETTING THERE. I am NOT going through Hirata Estate TWICE.
Mortal Draw still does barely any damage to him when you're at base Attack Power. You'll run out of Spirit Emblems long before you get him down even to half health. It really doesn't help, like at all.
Hello i know im late and probably wont get an answer but i just want to say congratulations for doing this run that almost nobody would have the guts to finish but you did so rlly congrats you deserve so much more
Thanks! I'm not too concerned with how many views anything gets, the fact that anyone at all cares enough to watch is cool to me. Glad you're enjoying!
This run was amazing, the editing, the gameplay, the suffering, all of it. A small tip for the future, during the jump you can block the lightning giving you a massive window for reversal and allowing much more generosity for the timing of the jump. 😄
Another Gargatuan effort Brother! I Love it! It was painful watching Owl father mikiri the crap out of you but kudos! I would have quit too! Keep up the great work! Onbal is an unnatural freak! I've been playing this game since the week it was released and I get killed still ! Great Video Bro!

i need to finish writing my essay by tomorrow and it's already 2130 here... bad timing. maybe i have a nice motivation for something to relax with before bed
in isshin's third phase there's also a factor of uneven round, if you're not jumping straight vertically you can land faster/slower the latter one giving you less time to release the lightning, like at 41:31, where you jumped to lower area but got knocked back into higher one
Well then! Next time you should do it blindfolded, fully randomized, with one leg and on a dance-pad! But speaking seriously, I absolutely respect your will and might in completing this challenge. Enjoyed it a lot! It's not for me to deside who you compare yourself to, but those speedruners and challenge runners are almost like different human species 😁 with superhuman abilities. When I first saw Lil Aggy playing the game without using a sword (except for deathblows naturally) and mario-jumping chained ogre for half an hour, making 1 damage - my jaw dropped. When i saw him and Mitchriz finishing Sekiro blindfolded and then speedruning it blindfolded - my jaw rolled under the sofa. It is something average person would never achieve, and for merely trying it you need to train long hours everyday for monts. I hope I am not too late, but for owl father at hirata estate, have you tried the mortal draw strategy? Basically, you jump when he does the zig-zag style kanji attack, and while you are in the air, you release mortal draw and landing to break his chain attack + health + posture…
