Herta's "beef" with Dr Ratio EN vs CN Livestream [Honkai: Star Rail]

- Would you believe me if I said I didn't actually know how to read Chinese?
SO many liberties were taken, translators I feel your pain now. I often feel like the translations aren't exactly right, but after this experience, honestly I don't blame them!
Still, it kinda sucks when it means certain characterisations or jokes don't carry over. Playing EN sub CN dub and hearing/reading the inconsistencies always feels like I'm noticing something no one else does.
This isn't the fault of the voice actors, and I get why things like this could happen, I just decided to make this thing for fun. If you feel like the translations STILL aren't quite right, you're free to make your own.
Fun fact, Dr. Ratio and Neuvillette share a voice actor!
Translation notes: Timestamp: 1:22 "孤芳自赏 (Gufang-zishang)" means something like "solitary flower in love with its own fragrance" and I could not for the LIFE of me figure what the fuck they were trying to say with it.
1:25 辩论 (Bianlun) can mean debate OR argument, and it definitely starts sounding like an argument, but usually people use 吵架 (Chaojia) for actual quarreling, so debate it is! It's also supposed to referencing an earlier part where Screwllum says they could have a debate competition about the Genius Society vs Intelligentsia Guild (Translated as Herta's "You sure you wanna go there?" line during 18:59 of the livestream)
1:30 The way they phrase it is more accurately something like "The scholar known as Truth (真理 Zhenli) Cure (治愈 Zhiyu) for others (他人 Taren)" but. Look me in the eyes and tell me that's something you would call a person. What is that.
The subtitles do feel a bit clunky (They're a bit fast), but I based the timings off the Chinese subtitles so, there's that.
I had to record the bilibili version twice for the full quality, but the editing seems fine, so I'm just adding this to let you guys know how much I had to do to make this hahahaha

Yeah! One thing I found very interesting while watching the stream was Owlbert introducing them as the characters'... voice actors, so they're actually speaking as themselves, and not the character they play!
Once before (very early genshin impact days) it was like what the other livestreams currently is (the VAs were more unhinged but still were supposed to be 'in character'), until sometimes in between Sumeru there're some pretty big and serious internet dramas broke out (iirc in a nutshell, some ppl got REALLY pissed off when their favorite character appeared 'out of character' on stream, and the character themselves were, maybe still are, controversial), after that they put disclaimers before livestreams and make sure everybody knows it's the VAs who are attending the livestream, NOT their respective characters.
For a CN player like me, it's somewhat a weird blessing watching VAs going completely off the rails while still showing up on stream as their characters 😂
The English one sounds more like they're having an official debate, the Chinese one does sound more natural like Herta actually is upset that Dr Ratio would reduce someone to tears just to "cure their ignorance"

Everything I remember from that stream was that Herta want to be Ruan Mei dog and "He make people cry!" Lmao.

Do EN livestream needs to copy and paste CN livestream script?
Why not given voice actor-actress more freedom while acting X character on the program as with CN or JP programs?
This also goes to Genshin program too
EN streams are definitely way more scripted than the others, it's so obvious
losing creative control is just asking for trouble.
