You might want to try using a metal drilling bit like the Bosch 8% cobalt M42 twist drill bits. Cutting fluid (Tap Magic is best in my experience) will also help your drill bits last longer and cut faster.

Love HSS. Hard to work with, but more than worth it. Sharpens easily, holds a razor edge like nothing else.

It doesn't get sharp easily and it's hard to process, but it's a good material...^^

Very good work. But, Sir, can it sharpened by sandpaper? Because i heard that Highg speed steel is hard enough to sharpen.

It's hard, but you can also grind the steel. ....

    Good work...
Does it need heat treatment or not, as you can drill it easy

For complete heat treatment, we've made it into a material that we've already finished in a heat treatment facility. So, drilling and sanding are hard, but I'm satisfied.

I don't understand what the advantage is of what you have done here. A planer blade is more expensive than most bar stock knife steels. Since it is already hardened, the entire crafting process has to focus on not overheating so as not to ruin the heat treat. It takes almost pro-level tools to work with this- most folks saving a few bucks on knife steel and heat treatment wont have a 2x72 grinder to use. Also, because it is already hardened, it's nearly impossible to drill, and files cant be used to shape the blade. Seems much better to buy a $10 pieces of 1084 or O1 in an annealed state and shape with files, harden, then assemble.
