For people wondering, the green hue of the storm is caused by enormous amounts of clouds that are filled with precipitation in the afternoon or evening with the sun starting to set. It shines through the clouds and the yellow of the sun & the blue of the water makes green. That tells you it's a very wet and volatile storm. We get it all the time in the United States, especially in areas where we have very volatile storms that sometimes create tornadoes.

I'm guessing cloud seeding has nothing to do with the hundreds of years of oral & written history of the green sky phenomenon. I'm not saying seeding is good or bad, but if we had gotten it to the point of flooding a major city like Dubai, the US southwest & southern California wouldn't be drying up to the point that people are losing their livelihoods, their homes, their drinking water & even their cities. I agree, it's arrogant to try to control nature, but it's also arrogant to assume that a major meteorological event couldn't have been created naturally & must be a conspiracy theory. The arrogance comes from the fear of the unknown & believing we caused a terrifying weather event conversely means believing that we have the ability to control the outcome in the future. IMHO, it's arrogance on all sides & I'm not seeing any of the discourse being fact based or solving anything. Maybe we can just appreciate & be humbled by the terrifying beauty of the natural world.
@@GalenlevyPhoto It is! I grew up on the edge of Tornado Alley on the Eastern side of Colorado and every year we would have multiple storms in the spring and early summer that would turn green and we had tornadoes touch down right behind our home! Derechos are terrifying! Glad you're safe!

To everyone saying “don’t play with nature” because you think this is because of cloud seeding, you’re very wrong, and should probably do some research. Cloud seeding is used in already formed clouds by spritzing salt to get the water to gather around the salt particles to weigh down the water, causing it to rain. The amount of salt it would take for something like this is unimaginable. This storm was entirely natural and likely climate driven. That sharp edge of the storm is an indication of a violent cold front. Storms like these happen a lot in the Great Plains region of the US. It was already going to be bad; you can tell from the greenish hue. Cloud seeding wouldn’t have been able to make it worse.

Rain and flooding is common in places everywhere now . Weather around the globe is changing. Other countries are facing scorching heat. For these deserts, i think this is a change to greenary. Once dubai fixes the drainage systems ( obviously they were designed to harvest rain as opposed to prevent flooding), i think they will face cooler climate and greenery. Its like the deserts are turning green and rest of the world is facing unbearable heat!
Moral of the story: DON'T PLAY WITH NATURE.
