On the main Smartrace just tap on the drivers laps that you want to change and type in the new number. In this case I tapped on Rogy's laps (22) and a keyboard appears, then it will allow me to change the number to what ever I want. Then tap Confirm. And it's just that easy! 🙂 Thanks!

I thought there was a function on the control unit where you can press the pace car button to deploy the pace car. I’ve also seen people have a separate pit lane for the pit car only, separate from the racers refueling.

I absolutley love your layout! Best one I've seen so far. Can I ask what size table you have that on? Also, would you have an inventory list of the track pieces to duplicate it? I appreciate your help!
need to add a separate pace car lane and move the sensor on both the car and the track piece to the left so pace car wont enter the pit area and will only enter its pace car lane. that's how i have it setup and is a much better experience.
Interesting idea moving the senor to the other side. It would also prevent all other cars from entering the pace car lane by mistake. May have to give it a try. Thanks.
@@rickrideout exactly it becomes a pure pace car lane only. Plus the pace car will not make those random lane lane changes as well and will only drive in its dedicated lane.
How do you get the safety car to start when the race restarts? I can either get it to automatically start when a driver hits the call button, or to manually start it after the race restarts. I am using VSC and not an actual pace car, so that might have something to do with it...
I use the ESC button on the Smartrace App or the ESC button on the CU. Either one will start and stop the pace car. I've not tested the VSC (Virtual Safety Car) so I don't know if it works the same way or not, I've only tested with the actual pace car.
@@rickrideout That makes sense! I do not have a physical Pace Car yet, so I imagine that I need one in order to make it work as well as yours does. Nice track by the way! What are the dimensions of that table?

Here's what we have found that works best with our track between running with two factory (Carrera) magnets vs One center magnet vs no magnets. We found there's a huge difference between these three choices. The car is on a rail with two magnets and you don't have to let off the gas much to make the corners. Very little throttle control to keep the car on the track. When the car starts to slide it loses the magnetic grip then flies off the track and you can't save it from the slide. With one center magnet the car takes more throttle control and you have to lift for the corners and can't get back to full throttle until after the corner. If the car starts to slide it doesn't suddenly fly off because it has a lot less magnetic pull and you can save it from the side. On my track the lap times with one center magnet is around 7.3 seconds. With both magnets in (as it comes from out of the box) the car is at least a full second faster and the lap times are around 6.0 seconds. With no magnets in the car it's so loose its like you're driving on ice or drifting around all the corners. But for this style of race car that isn't realistic to have the real axle swinging out all the way around the corner. So I'm looking for some grip that's the most realistic for this style of car and takes some skill to drive. So we run one center magnet (we even shim some cars with thick paper to reduce the one center magnets pull to even up the cars) which only adds 1.5 - 2.0 oz of magnetic weight to the overall car weight, unlike the rear magnet that adds almost 10 oz of magnetic grip. If you're wondering how we balance our cars, well here's a product that I just came out with to do just that. :-) rixproducts.com/product/weigh-station-1-32-1-24-slot-cars/
Thanks for the elaborate reply! You seem to have things worked out pretty well. I'm racing 1:32 slotcars for over 50 years and have always driven without magnets. Magnets feel artificial to me...
Same here, (50 years) I had a wooden 6 lane HO scale track in the 70's so I've done a lot of non magnet racing. But for me seeing a road racing car on asphalt or concrete with the tail hanging out around the corners just isn't realistic. It's not what you see at Le Mans 24 hour style race. But I don't like to see the cars going 800 MPH around the corners because they have so much magnetic grip either. So for me, I want something that challenging to drive that also drives and looks like the prototype going around the track. :-)
