      C D E F G A B C = 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
      Major chord 1-3-5
      Minor 1-b3-5 C -Eb-G
      Also b = Flat
      Simple
Works in every key as well...That wasnt to hard

Wow, this was really helpful. You did this really quickly, didn't get too complicated in explaining the theory (I understand a little bit of theory, but when people use too much of it or start adding in 6, 7, 9, 11, I get a little overwhelmed) and just showed some really solid examples really quickly and briefly! After learning how to do it, I like this method a lot better than trying to do chords and then melody

Wow. So happy I found this video. Other people trying to explain this simply say that you should use the notes in the melody, and they they simply throw in the perfect chord because they know it. But the way you explained it dragging the notes, cutting out extra notes, and trying out all possibilities really helped me get going.

  • @Ninjaznexx

Also, for every note in a melody, there exists a chord containing that note but still retains its feeling. So you can replace every single note in a melody with a corresponding chord and the melody would still feel the same

@@augusto7681 it's really simple, you literally just find the tonic on the circle, then it easily shows you the relative major/minor as well as the V chord one step clockwise in the circle, the IV chord 1 step counterclockwise, and the relative major/minor for each on the inside/outside of the circle. Yes, I - V - IV - I chord progressions are a little dull, but you can write them really fast then spice them up afterwards with 7ths, 9ths, suspended chords, and inversions.

OMG I'm a total newbie trying to write a song and was struggling to make something out of all other videos I've watched. But your video is so easy to understand and immediately applicable. Thanks for the good work!
