@adencliffe I'm not talking about music. I just say that Canada uses all their lifts in all their routines. I just say that, even in diferent routines their movements are so similar (and so similar to other team's movements too...). I think that the canada that the circus combo was better and more original (even doing it just 1 year after the spanish circus in 2003) !! Creativity is more than "doing extrange things"
@Sirenitoh I think that the revolutionary routine for the combos was the USA combo in 2006 and changing the world position is a big of a deal! So if judges thinks that Canada combo was better than Spain, I think they are right.
@synchrojulie Maybe, but the question is why? Canada had amazing routines before, the circus combo ( Spain did a circus routine before) or the duet of the dragons were so good... but nowdays they have nothing from their old style. I think that the only canadian routine that deserved a medal was their technical duet. If they used spainsh style just for beating them i think it's a great lost for the synchro world...just like USA and their fantastic 2007combo was.
@adencliffe So if the spanish trademark was using Queen music in their first combo, do u think is correct for canada to use their trademark? Of course is a good routine, but in my opinion, this is a dirty way of winning a medal.
@synchrojulie Of course it's not a complete copy... but it's a dirty routine. All the lifts are from other routines, the kind of music was a revolutionary routine from Spain ... If you have been following synchro swimming for 8 or 9 years it's obvious it isn't a great routine like Stairway to heaven was.
@synchrojulie USA's combo in 2006 was great, simple but great. I mean that the spanish combo in 2003-2005 was the first to really change the music, the movements. Canada's combo in 2005 was great too, better than the USA's ... but where is that Canada nowdays?. All their new routines are the same, aggresive music and splashing... I don't discuss that they deserved the bronze medal, I try to explain that using that routine is a dirty trick, diefeating spain with the spanish signs.
@MrMedic26 If Canada was able to win with their own routine the comentators wouldn say that... They perfectly know the old routines from Spain and they can recognise such a copy...
Canada always gets screwed over when it comes to judging. They deserve golds and/or silvers, but they ALL get handed to Russia and China, even if their routines aren't half as good. During the 2012 games in London, team canada blew everyone's mind with their routine, and China was pretty boring, Russia was amazing so gold rightly so. But 4th place at the Olympics... I remember the team canada coach saying "someone needs to coach the judges on how to judge." And I completely agree
Julie Delahooke Canada always forgets that this is actually a sport more than a spectacle! I think that they sould learn to read the Code and the concept of Difficulty.
+Sirenitoh They don't make it so much a spectacle than they do make it memorable. They have creativity and originality and what they can do is extremely difficult regardless of the gimics or facial expressions they might throw in with their theme. This one for example, that bicycle lift is so high on the difficulty scale but people think of it as more of a spectacle, and that thoroughly irritates me. People don't know how hard a lift like that really is. They treat it as a real sport, they just make their routines entertaining, and like I said, memorable. They make everyone intrigued by the sport because they look like they're having so much fun. Too much technicality takes away from the presentation, not that it isn't important. I just think entertainment with difficulty combined is important.
The definiton you did about "difficulty" is not related with what is evaluated by the Difficulty Pannel of Judges. In fact all lifts are evaluated as "airborne weight" and maybe flexibilities or kinestesics. height is execution and "bycicle stuffs" can be evaluated artistically... but not as a Difficulty by itself.
Everyone, put a cork in it!!! Canada swam an outstanding routine and everyone should just enjoy it and not care if they took some stuff from Spain! Obviously the judges don't care! So why should you!!
What, so Spain has a monopoly on Queen music and no one is allowed to use that music now? They didn't even use the same songs. I really don't see the problem.
I think the girls were great, it had a great execution but I must agree with the frustration of the spanish. The choreography had NO originality, this is the coach's mistake of course. I just think that even if I were Canadian I would be ashamed of all this team's recent choreographys because, even if they make a great show for the fans, it's dirty to copy (in a evident way) other team's hard work and creativity... They don't even fit properly the pieces of other routines, and it looks messy...
What is up with the Hispanohablantes dirty talking every other country in synchronized swimming except Spain. I mean like seriously, even with China, you guys, in Spanish of course, are all like "China was nice but Spain should get silver because they are better!" Wow...
Those were amazing lifts! They did really well
that bicycle lift blows my mind

That was amazing!!! GO CANADA:)

Great!!! Queen Rules!!
winner??
@synchrojulie Look for spanish combo in 2003-2005. They copied from their own free team in 2000. Even the music ...
@adencliffe So if the spanish trademark was using Queen music in their first combo, do u think is correct for canada to use their trademark? Of course is a good routine, but in my opinion, this is a dirty way of winning a medal.
@Sirenitoh Can you tell me wich routine they copied please?
@synchrojulie Of course it's not a complete copy... but it's a dirty routine. All the lifts are from other routines, the kind of music was a revolutionary routine from Spain ...

Fantástica rutina! Me deja sin habla! Me gusta más que China!
I cannot believe this ended so near of the Chinese exercise...
Adding strange figures from nowhere...
@MrMedic26 If Canada was able to win with their own routine the comentators wouldn say that... They perfectly know the old routines from Spain and they can recognise such a copy...
@Sirenitoh they do not take the same music! Yes it's Queen but it's not the same songs....

holy shit! GO CANADA!
@Sirenitoh I think it's all about the coachs...
Everyone, put a cork in it!!! Canada swam an outstanding routine and everyone should just enjoy it and not care if they took some stuff from Spain! Obviously the judges don't care! So why should you!!
@Sirenitoh ok so I understand that you think that Canada try to be like Spain like I think that Ukrain try to be like Russia!

Nada qué ver!! Las españolas lo hicieron mucho mejor! (Y originales, no refritos)
Synchro Canada should apologize for this routine. For what are obvious reasons today.
@adencliffe LOL are you serious??? That's whata Canada DID some years before. But from 2009 until nowdays they have done nothin about that.
You really think this is GOLD? someone need to get glasses ...
