I just got some updated info about the Pro Series. It is going to be a rebranding of the Expert line of pencils. An Arteza rep. says "We will have these sets that say expert on them until they have all been sold out and updated to the new packaging"
Thanks for taking one for the team! I think the classic line of supplies is their kid's grade, the premium is student/craft grade and expert is their "professional" grade supplies. I actually like their expert colored & watercolor pencils and their erasable colored pencils for kids. they have hits and misses for sure. Thanks for the comparison!
I just got some info from an Arteza rep. saying that they have 4 different lines: Kids, Classic, Premium, Expert. When they sell out of the existing tins with the Expert branding they will be changing over to Pro Series.
Thank you for the review and the heads up about these being new sets. I do not like any metallics. Every one i own will sit in the corner of the pencil case by themselves 😂 i am interested in the pastels. I just recently got the castle arts pasteltints and they are okay i guess. I think i need to practice more with them. Really really waxy to me. So i just might have to get this set too. Thank you for your time and review. I appreciate it. Have a nice weekend!! ✌😊
Thanks for great detailed review Crystal! I should have read description better lol I got both sets .. should have known about quality due to price lol .. I feel I will use them but probably not my go to. 💕🤗
That’s my concern was when I saw these two pastels and metallics should I buy them ? Or not …. I was worried because some people left some sayings about these pencils cause for both I spend $40 since they were $20 originally from other metallics there’s only 12 colors and for pastels are super rare and good price I love how there’s sparkle and then metallics and another thing is it depends what paper you use most definitely I’ve colored with them already and had them for 2 weeks and never had a issue , the packaging for the pencils was a pain but the pastel and metallics are so beautiful and perfect to me !!! I’m happy with my purchase I love how they look metallic and pastels to me I love this video and I appreciate you gave a unboxing and review about this, this is just my , I myself honest opinion and the only thing was the packaging lol and I threw the packaging away and store them in to a beautiful cup holder will you be able to do a coloring video for both sets ? I think it would be interesting ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for watching! I ended up giving the metallic set away. They just weren't for me. I will definitely try and do a video coloring something with the pastel set. 🤗
Crystal your killing me this week with colored pencils 😂!!! I was enabled with your post with castle art gold and now I want these pastels lol 😂 😩!!!! Okay so if you ask customer service about the pro series pleeaaasssee post their answer so we can all have a laugh !! Like seriously they couldn’t just say student grade from the beginning lol 😂
I bought 4 sets of pencils I think within the last two weeks!!! I need a pencil intervention 😆😆😆 I will ask about the pro series. I think the reps don't have the scripts ready yet for all the new products. 🙃
I can't speak to the Arteza.. but I have the Castle metallics and I think people expect something metallic pencils simply don't do. You are not going to get ink type metallic out of a pencil, at least not with anything currently on the market (maybe in the future someone will come up with some type of gel formula and that will change). They are more similar to graphitint, with that graphite type sheen. That said.. I'm glad I have my Castles because what they do is greatly expand my color palette, especially in the muted shades/tinted neutrals which do not show up in most sets. I use them together with the regular set and the pastel set all in one big case and they play together just fine.
Metallic pencils really aren't my favorite in general but I do have the Derwent 10th anniversary metallic set. Those I think are the most metallic looking I've tried as well as the prismacolor metallics.
@@CrystalsColorStyle A lot of people avoid the Prisma metallics but I love the bronze.. it fills a hole in the browns available and forms a blending pair with green ochre.
I was going to get both Arteza sets but when I saw the code for Castle arts I went to their site and ended up getting 50% off of both the Metallic and the Pastel set in the boxes (not the cases) for $34.98 total cost which included the shipping costs. Shocking that they gave the 50% off the already reduced sale price. Thank you so much for sharing the code. Heads up on the code. It can only be used once so make sure you have everything in your cart that you want when you check out using it.
@@CrystalsColorStyle I found out when I tried to go back after buying the other two sets to then buy the 120 Gold set and it told me the code had been already used. I think it was telling me that I didn't need any more pencils..which is true. LOL
About the "already reduced sale price".. These products are ALWAYS on sale. They make it seem like you're getting a good deal because it motivates impulse purchases.
I wouldn't purchase the metallic pencils. I bought some Derwent Metallics many, many years ago, before I got into coloring and never did like them. I just don't like metallic pencils. I think they look best on black paper. I really don't use black paper, so they would be a waste for me. The pastels look good, but I will probably pass on these as well. I bought a small set of the Brutfuner Macaron's to try, and told myself I wasn't going to buy the full set because I had most of the pastels from Holbein and really didn't need them, but alas I did eventually buy the entire set of them. LOL In my opinion they are great pencils, close to Holbein's, so I am happy I did break down and just get the full set. Thanks for sharing!
I feel the same I also have that Derwent metallic set and don't really care for them much. The pastels are nice but not anything unique so I think most of us already have plenty of pastel sets. 😄 Thanks for watching! ❤
Thank you for this video. I will get the pastels based on your review. Glad I watched because I was going to get metallic ones too but not now. I love that they are affordable! I wanted the Pasteltints by Castleart but can’t afford them. I will use your color names as well! I appreciate all you do for us. Have a blessed day!!
There are a few 50% off coupons out there for castle. I recently used castleart50 and it worked. It not only took of half but it took off half of the already reduced prices on their website. I really love my pastel castles, they are much nicer than the regular line which I also like.. the pastels just seem to be a step up.
@@waymire01 imo the Castle Arts pencils were overpriced to begin with so when they put them on 50% off that would be the only time I would really recommend buying them.
@@CrystalsColorStyle For sure, but I got all three sets for $60 (216 total pencils) and free shipping in two days...and they were worth every penny of that. It would have been even less without the cases, etc which I didn't like anyway. The three together give me a range I don't have in any other set.
Are any of the colors in these two sets included in the large 120 set of Artezas? I thought about ordering both of these, but I have the 120 set, and I want to avoid duplicates. Thanks so much!
I don't have these (yet?) but have tried the 120 set by arteza. In my opinion they were lacking in true pastels and muted colors, so this looks like a really good set to expand the color range.

Thanks for watching Lindsey! I agree they seem to be making more of an effort differentiating the lines. I do love a lot of their products.

They’re a good make! Great review! Had those pencils before you can’t go wrong with them! Happy colouring ✏️✍🏻
