What makes more sense is to leave the duct in place and fitting the filter into the opening on top of the duct which is clearly to direct air flow up and into a filter plus the air and water that shoots through the duct goes straight through and onto the tire and not having all that opening for road debris to have access to your filter. Pretty sure you don't have this car anymore but to anyone watching in 2022 do what makes sense its there for a reason and someone spent lots of time and money to design that to be there so use it don't lose it.
another good video of your Tech can do. You are "Honestly" too hard on yourself! What matters is the results and you nail everything you show us. Got my 16 RedLineRed Scat Charger 9/10/16. Its a Blast to drive and love all the attention it gets. My 401K foot the bill but its the first new car in 30 years. The last new car a 87 is still looking like new keeping the Charger company. Thank for the videos and the INFO that you add Mr OCD.
thank you for the awesome comment and congrats on the new car !! that feeling of driving something you're proud of never gets old :) wish you nothing but the best and thank you for watching and enjoying, it really makes the editing of these videos worth it lol
Jason Grigg idk it's silly lol 4 piston brakes and that hole hits more tire than anything lol I don't track the car anyways so I'm sure it'll be fine :O haha
Kenny well the last thing you want is for water to get into your engine because it could cause hydro lock but I doubt a quick splash would harm it but definitely not constant splash because that’s asking for trouble
Lol I like that, in Mopar you trust and is a good one. Not that it's sacrilegious or anyting and are just referring to car parts, but was funny. Yeah I'm not having any issues with the aFe intake on my Challenger either, but have also heard a lotta really good things about LMI products within the Mopar community as well and like the idea of picking up air from underneath the vehicle. Was at their online store earlier, and says that they are handmade out of the best materials and produced to order. So they require a 1 to 2 week lead time it says, and think that I will get one for my 6.1. Especially since the most expensive one is the fender mounted one for $350 and have the regular style for $299, so they are very reasonable and like the company. Unlike many of the others and saw one recently by aFe for over $500 speaking of them, so they are not greedy and like their integrity as well 💪🏼😎
Awesome video dude I am getting ready to do this install my self and this video was very informative!!! Also from 16 and up the tube behind the bumper is also on the 18’s can’t wait for the install to be complete!!! I like the look also it gives it a more technical look with a mild install.
ur awesome stop been so modest god dam...lol....i told u ...u will be the next RP Production ....hopefully bigger, the video was awesome, and u doing great work....and if get so bored why dont u work on my car hahaha....we will get together soon buddy be ready ....New Jersey be ready.... New York Coming to meet my homies !!! great work buddy ur good ppl and deserve the very best fuck the haters....
Arctic Vette yeah my Dremel sucks lol I never thought I'd need it for this haha and there are a LOT of videos coming this year with some big announcements as well so stick around!! :)
Honestly OCD Will do bro! I have the same exact dremel and was going to do this but im not sure what dremel I need, Ill head to Lowes and check out their heavy duty dremel add on pieces. I have a super heavy duty 4.5 inch cutter but it probably wont be able to maneuver in that space. I love your vids bro, I am from the Bronx so it brings me good memories back of the NY type humor. Ill be staying tuned and Ill be moving overseas since I am Army. Ill start posting some videos of my cars in detail of all the stuff I have done. BTW I am exactly like you when an install is supposed to take 5 minutes it usually takes me 8 hours due to some bs.. lol
Arctic Vette haha yeah I have no luck when it comes to installs but hopefully the videos help people out lol and THANK YOU for your service !! it's awesome and much appreciated bud !! stay safe and let me know when you start posting videos I'd love to see them !!
Thanks for this install video... after seeing this, I'm just going to get the LMI short ram intake and add the Hellcat rain hood. Don't wanna attempt this, haha. Thanks again - keep up the great videos.
dude can I get that heat shield from the K&N filter I've been looking everywhere for one nobody sells it separately I would love to purchase it if you aren't using it
401K_ScatPack I honestly did feel an improvement lol before the bar I used to take this one curve on my weekly drive and the front end never felt as solid or confident as I would have liked .. after the install I never had that problem again .. it honestly feels more tight and for sure has less flex in it on those turns plus it looks awesome lol I recommend these bars :)
HonestlyOCD Oh ok. Well I'll be uploading my experience with the install in a few days. Just need to find the time since it's a bit more hands on than the traditional CAI. Appreciate the response buddy!
Have been followed your channel for awhile from scat to hellcat! Great video as usual bro! What ramp were you use in this video bro? I cracked mine, need to shop more ramp for oil change lol
I noticed that you have the engine breathing into the atmosphere does that affect the performance. I cause I'm thinking about uninstalling my cheapo catch can and letting it vent into the atmosphere. no emission test here in Alabama.
Carl Br I can't imagine LMI making a kit with components that could damage the car somehow lol I'd send them a message and bring your concern up to them the owner answers emails very quickly and he's quite knowledgeable
I would say as long as that opening is sealed up (if your car has that opening) than you should be fine. I would recommend a pre filter just incase and that should give you some peace of mind since it takes a LOT to get water through those filters but the air still flows just fine!
yeap !! if that opening is sealed than you really don't have to worry about any water getting kicked up from the tire and the pre filter will all but stop ANY rain that could come in through the grille lol now this doesn't mean you should drive through crazy huge puddles and lakes :) I don't think you should have any problems !!
Honestly OCD thank you I was looking at the same black one for my R/T but heard about K&N air intakes not fitting correctly another question is with out tuning the car did you feel any difference with the K&N?
Honestly OCD that sounds like a future plan I currently have a drop in filter and been thinking about upgrading to a air intake just wasn't sure if it's worth the money
Brian Chung as far as sound goes, not a TON different honestly BUT that's because I was going from a K&N to this lol if I was going from stock to this I'd likely notice the air sucking sound and slight change in the exhaust tone that most people speak of .. either way this intake DID give a more responsive throttle which is always nice lol
Do you have Instagram? A lot of people usually private message me on there it's the fastest way and I can respond almost immediately depending on where I am at the moment lol
MustangDriver1734 doubt it and you could likely just put the stock intake on without them even seeing the "cut" that was made so it shouldn't be an issue I think it all depends on the service advisor too lol my friend has a 1000HP charger and they do warranty work on it knowing the performance mods lol
Okay. I was just wondering. I heard about Dodge voiding *SRTMUSH's* Powertrain warranty on his hellcat, when the super-charger bearing(s) failed; because of a aftermarket air-filter. Although they resolved that issue; I wouldn't want you to go through what *SRTMUSH* had to.
HonestlyOCD no worries man. If you don't mind I'm kind of curious about how you feel about your leg maker intake I have a 2016 charger RT hemi and I am looking to get a cold air system but I've heard leg maker, r2c, etc idk where to go honestly lol what do you think the best one out there is? I have heard some intakes actually hurt the car.. So i want to know for sure before purchasing something.
Chase Reid I would avoid the lmi unless you get the one that doesn't cut the car because that's honestly not worth the work lol the K&N is nice but all of them will likely give a tiny improvement.. the only thing is the temps at idling will be higher until the car moves.. If you're keeping the car mostly stock you might wanna just replace the stock filter with a k&n panel filter and be done with it to save money
HonestlyOCD yeah i mean i have a 2inch drop, wheels, exhaust, tint, already ordered diode dynamics color shift lights and i have some goodies on the way from billet technology for under the hood catch can, caps etc.. I was just looking to get an intake that wouldn't do negative things to the car and that is easy to install.. Lol there are just so many out there. But for the most part, until my warranty goes out i'm not touching anything performance wise
i honestly love how you spend so much money trying out all these different CAI's, and in one video ( ua-cam.com/video/AYePHcFCjgk/v-deo.html ) you go and say how you ordered this already, got it, realized that you had to cut the car and you didn't want to do it so you sent it back. you also say how you don't think these make a difference to the car, which honestly neither do i which was why i was confused to see you buying all these different intakes. Honestly bro, buy one, and stick to it. Chances are there isn't another that's any better that would actually make it worth it. But who knows, maybe im wrong. Anyways, keep up the work bro
What makes more sense is to leave the duct in place and fitting the filter into the opening on top of the duct which is clearly to direct air flow up and into a filter plus the air and water that shoots through the duct goes straight through and onto the tire and not having all that opening for road debris to have access to your filter. A plug for Airport Dodge in Orlando. The took 5,000 off msrp 45,660 and added Nothing but T,T+title. Very worth the drive from Tampa Bay area.

Dying over here at your reactions to the dirt under your car lmao
Me too 🤣
A trick: watch movies on flixzone. Me and my gf have been using it for watching loads of movies recently.
@Desmond Wade yup, been watching on Flixzone} for months myself :D
if I'm not mistaking that tube is to keep them brembos nice and cool
Jason Grigg idk it's silly lol 4 piston brakes and that hole hits more tire than anything lol I don't track the car anyways so I'm sure it'll be fine :O haha
Kenny well the last thing you want is for water to get into your engine because it could cause hydro lock but I doubt a quick splash would harm it but definitely not constant splash because that’s asking for trouble
@@V8dadmartin about to install and this shit scares me. Might try to figure out a way to keep it on to protect from water.
that tube that was blocking you was the airflow for brake cooling.
Lol I like that, in Mopar you trust and is a good one. Not that it's sacrilegious or anyting and are just referring to car parts, but was funny. Finally a new video... Figured you went and traded that car in for a chic car... Like a camaro or something....
Paul Castello lmao !! no !! not trading this car in for a Camaro or even a Mustang lol ;) thanks for watching bud !!
Awesome video dude I am getting ready to do this install my self and this video was very informative!!! Also from 16 and up the tube behind the bumper is also on the 18’s can’t wait for the install to be complete!!! I like the look also it gives it a more technical look with a mild install.

FP2000 let me know I'll there😆
do u feel sny difference in sound or slow driving ....at all ?
My 1st MOPAR was a 70' Charger
How would you go about cleaning the filter ?
Hillary looks great in stripes!
I think the first thing you will notice with the new setup is throttle response it really pops.
lmao. The placeabo effect is strong with this one
Just say your video and notice it doesn’t come with the leg maker cover that lines up with the coolant container?
Hey i know I’m super late but would you happen to still have the k&n for sale?
Love the videos bro please keep it up! I might get one of these for my Scatpack too but wondering if I can find a better dremel lol..
Arctic Vette yeah my Dremel sucks lol I never thought I'd need it for this haha and there are a LOT of videos coming this year with some big announcements as well so stick around!! :)

LOL thanks for watching :O sorry I messed with any plans haha it really is a great intake just this install, like I said, isn't super easy
Did u purchase the short ram intake? If so, how is it?
Love the videos bro!! I just got my '16 black on black scat pack charger
I always love your videos. Great job sir!
Looks awesome. Thinking I might be ordering mine soon. And Haha yah you right it was a long video. But a good one as normal
great video... I can't wait til "Hector" tests it out haha
hostage42 me either haha thanks brother!
After you cut did you put something back over the bare metal so it doesn't rust?
Robert Erpelding I had primer in a spray can that I sprayed into the cap and paint brushed on but that was it
Theirs another kit I seen kinda pricey but no cutting involved by some company called Mdesign and it seem to be better design to me
345_HEMI nice ! I'll have to research it
dude can I get that heat shield from the K&N filter I've been looking everywhere for one nobody sells it separately I would love to purchase it if you aren't using it
Traviskidd I'd love to bud but I'm selling the intake as a whole unit :/
could not find your strut tower brace video to ask this there. can you fell a improvement driving. thanks again
Thanks Again. Considering getting one for the rear also.
Would you happen to know if that same tube is on the 17 model Scat pack? Just bought one a few weeks ago. Good upload.
Romeo_22 hey not sure to be honest. The only car 17 I've has experience with is hellcat and Daytona
HonestlyOCD Oh ok. Well I'll be uploading my experience with the install in a few days. Just need to find the time since it's a bit more hands on than the traditional CAI. Appreciate the response buddy!
Romeo_22 let me know when it's up I wanna see 👍👍
Have been followed your channel for awhile from scat to hellcat! Great video as usual bro! What ramp were you use in this video bro? I cracked mine, need to shop more ramp for oil change lol
Louis Li thanks for the support !! the ramps are rhino ramps and I found mine at my local AutoZone
HonestlyOCD Thank you bro! I will go get mine lol!
Hey, how was it trying to raise the car up on those ramps? I just bough a pair about an hour ago.
Romeo_22 I needed wood for a little more clearance but other than that it went on fairly easy
HonestlyOCD appreciate it.
I noticed that you have the engine breathing into the atmosphere does that affect the performance. I cause I'm thinking about uninstalling my cheapo catch can and letting it vent into the atmosphere. no emission test here in Alabama.
Carl Br I noticed no negative performance issues whatsoever so I'd say it's perfectly fine lol
HonestlyOCD I asked because l was told that if you don't have vacuum pulling out those crankcase vapors the blow by will sludge the oil faster.
Carl Br I can't imagine LMI making a kit with components that could damage the car somehow lol I'd send them a message and bring your concern up to them the owner answers emails very quickly and he's quite knowledgeable
HonestlyOCD my engine is a Vortec 4200 and it doesn't have a pcv valve has a orifice btw. update soon as u can. thanks
How did you like the k&n on the scat ?
Living in Oregon where rains a lot through year would this system be ok?
I would say as long as that opening is sealed up (if your car has that opening) than you should be fine. I would recommend a pre filter just incase and that should give you some peace of mind since it takes a LOT to get water through those filters but the air still flows just fine!
Honestly OCD so cover that opening that you did in tire well and pre filter and be good to go.
yeap !! if that opening is sealed than you really don't have to worry about any water getting kicked up from the tire and the pre filter will all but stop ANY rain that could come in through the grille lol now this doesn't mean you should drive through crazy huge puddles and lakes :) I don't think you should have any problems !!
Isn't this your 3rd Cold Air Intake?
have you heard anything back from that manufacturer of that cai?
Carl Br heard anything back from which manufacturer?
HonestlyOCD that breather filter. I asked you about it a few weeks ago in the comment section
Carl Br oh yeah lol I never actually emailed the company but spoke to many people and it was never said to be an issue
great videos by the way stay in the mopar family please
I am !! don't worry !! :)
Did the K&N air intake install go smoothly or was there issues with it fitting correctly?
Dodge Charger 15 K&N went on perfectly smooth with zero issues
Honestly OCD thank you I was looking at the same black one for my R/T but heard about K&N air intakes not fitting correctly another question is with out tuning the car did you feel any difference with the K&N?
Dodge Charger 15 well it depends lol you do get some upgraded throttle response and noise :)
Honestly OCD that sounds like a future plan I currently have a drop in filter and been thinking about upgrading to a air intake just wasn't sure if it's worth the money
Don't forget the tune.
"Zshoop Zshoop Zshoop what does that remind you of pervert". Im dying Thanks for another great video. Im getting a Legmaker for my 18 Daytona.
Notice a difference in sound since the swap ?
Brian Chung as far as sound goes, not a TON different honestly BUT that's because I was going from a K&N to this lol if I was going from stock to this I'd likely notice the air sucking sound and slight change in the exhaust tone that most people speak of .. either way this intake DID give a more responsive throttle which is always nice lol
Good stuff bro! Thanks 🙏🏽
So after all this time will you do it again ?
Never lol
HonestlyOCD was it the install that was a bitch? Or was it just the CAI that you didn’t like?
Hey man another great video. Do you have a way i can email you? I wanted to ask you something but didn't want to leave a comment about it
Do you have Instagram? A lot of people usually private message me on there it's the fastest way and I can respond almost immediately depending on where I am at the moment lol
Yes. U just honestlyOCD on there as well.
What is the thing you use to cover that open hole by the tire ?
Ariela Valle I used a sheet of second skin audio sound deadener that I had laying around lol it was the only thing I had at the time lol
HonestlyOCD did you replace it with something better ?
Ariela Valle nope I actually sold the car not long after this for my current vehicle so I wouldn't know a much better setup unfortunately
Do you know what size throttle body a 2016 scat has and will this cai fit? Without getting a knew throttle body or anything?
yo champ where in NJ you @ I was born there.
Brian Dean up North Bergen County
Will this affect your warranty? (If you have one) I know Dodge has a bad reputation for voiding warranties.
MustangDriver1734 doubt it and you could likely just put the stock intake on without them even seeing the "cut" that was made so it shouldn't be an issue I think it all depends on the service advisor too lol my friend has a 1000HP charger and they do warranty work on it knowing the performance mods lol

MustangDriver1734 yeah I really think it's the dealer too some dealers are just absolute shit to be honest lol
Bro do you still have the k&n? I will buy it right now!
Chase Reid unfortunately the new owner got that intake :/ I have the JLT and the LMI fender pull but no K&N
But for the most part, until my warranty goes out i'm not touching anything performance wise
Chase Reid easy install would be anything that sits on top like K&N, R2C, the LMI Hammer or LMI FrankenTake
i honestly love how you spend so much money trying out all these different CAI's, and in one video
( ua-cam.com/video/AYePHcFCjgk/v-deo.html ) you go and say how you ordered this already, got it, realized that you had to cut the car and you didn't want to do it so you sent it back. you also say how you don't think these make a difference to the car, which honestly neither do i which was why i was confused to see you buying all these different intakes. You have me rolling 😂😂
23:17 Sounds like the dentist....
Yeah, not doing this goat fuck. Putting a Hellcat stock intake on my R/T. Done.
Good video man, I was going to ask for the part # on the 3/4" breather filter than I saw you did the same thing I did. imgur.com/3W5g0kL,
Work Play Drive yep same one :)
r u selling ur old intake
Chris Cruz likely will be selling it soon, yes
lol, weave
😂😂😂😂your so funny 🤣😂🤣.....👍
dam I'm first
Jason Grigg LOL !! yeah you are !!
