I wanted to learn what needle felting was and your video perfectly answered that question. I am not a crafty person, but watching this makes me want to give it a go! Your video is very well done, NICE JOB! :)
Thank you sooooo much for this wonderful and beneficial video. You know how to make a video and it helped me a lot. I especially like that you played calm music which enhanced, not distracted me from learning. Also, you captioned the video as you worked each step (close range) from start to finish. I especially like the fact that you showed the needle varieties up close because other tutorial videos never show what a needle looks like nor the varieties available. THANK YOU!
I have that same Mini Heart cutter when I trimmed my Shih Tzu, I took some of the trimmed hair and needle felted it using the Heart. An adorable trinket kept in a pill tin.
When my friend talked about how she was needle felting it sounded like a really mystical process. Now I know it consists of poking wool a bunch I think I've discovered a more cathartic version of knitting. Is that right? XD
Sure, that's totally up to you. I find needle felting soothing and fun, no trouble at all! I can create whatever I want with the needle, it's more flexible than knitting. It is labour-intense, but that's what makes it special from other fiber arts, and you'll feel a great sense of self-accomplishment when you finish a great piece of work!
I have come back to this video after almost a decade and yours is the one that introduced me to needle felting :') I remember being OBSESSED and dying to try it and not having the funds or knowing where to get good supplies for it at least back then. I have supplies in my many-craft inventory and it's a craft I keep returning to ^.^
Although I probably not try it I enjoyed your video You explaination is exactly what a bigginer needs (sometimes when I want to try a new DIY project I just don't find all the information I need as a bigginer) Well Done! Thanks!
I had NO IDEA that this process took so long...I have a LOT more admiration for it after watching this, and I am miserably aware that I would start to make a little "Felt garland" and end up with one ball and wander off lol. Thanks for posting this, your work is beautiful!
I don't have any desire to do this myself, but I always wondered how this stuff is done, bc I keep seeing these amazing felted art pieces. now I know. thanks.
those types of round hearts give me visions back to my childhood. they are too cute!! this video was cute and unique, but at the same time, you were very good at explaining what to do. great job! i just brought a needle felting book and i had a hard time understanding what to do. Thank you!
i was already considering trying needle felting, but once i saw this and realized you can do more than decorating shirts and stuff, i really want to give it a try! good thing my birthday is in a couple months!
Oi, eu sou brasileira, estava a procura de vídeos sobre feltragem mais são poucos que existem na minha língua, então optei por procurar em inglês e assim eu vim parar aqui, adorei o video, meus parabéns

Thanks so much for this. I've never felted wool before and all I needed to do, was to fix a leg that was falling off of an ornament that my husband gave me when we were dating, and I did. It was so easy!

Lorraine: Wow! That was really neat! I can even appreciate more now what I see in the beautiful pictures I've seen for needle felting. A timely but beautiful art! Anything really beautiful takes time. I certainly want to learn more so I've subscribed to your channel. Thank you so much!
Thank you for making this video! I was thinking about trying this craft and I wanted to see a basic start, to know if it looked possible for me, and also how much space is needed to do it (compared to, say knitting). I think I should definitely give it a go, it looks like I could even do it at my computer desk.
very cute! i was always curious about needle felting cause its a craft you can do in crafting mama. this tutorial is simple and informative so maybe ill give it a try
this was interesting but I was looking for something that would help me use the hair my dogs shed. There was a class here last year but I missed. But thanks for the basics when you have prepared fiber.
You probably know this now, but for anyone who reads this comment and wonders the same thing, you CAN use pet hair. A friend made a 'clone' of their pet that had passed away using the fur that was still on the floor. I heard that you can only use the under coat, and it's harder without blending with fibres.
Wool is a high priced material, but it depends on where you live and if the shop import them from somewhere. I live in New Zealand, it is really easy for me to get hold of the materials, so it's reasonably priced and we have a lot of wool manufacturers.
I don't care what anyone says, this is the most metal thing I've seen in crafting! That needle was moving so fast, I was afraid to look away. I would have to use some tool to hold the felt in place or else I would make painful mistake.
im thinking of making wool dryer ball I looked on etsy & saw some really cool decorated ones that said they were needle felted so checking in to how I could make them that way.

I only just got it and I am looking for a correct tutorial...
In fact, I've already found it.
I'd set the record for puncture wounds in 15 minutes doing this.
Finger tips would look like swiss cheese.
Charles Reed 💀
i tried it today and have gotten so many puncture wounds lol
My kit came with cow hide finger protectors. I could hold the felt right in my hand and poke as many holes as I want and no wounds.
I poked myself the very first time I took a stab at the wool. :D

Avoid using your fingers to hold the felt down (cookie cutter too):
◉ I use a small spare needle to pin the felt to the foam, and thanks to
the barbs the felt can be turned and manipulated easily... no fingers
near the working needle.
- - You'll likely be pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to avoid
the holding needle, even with the multiple needle tool.
◉ For cookie cutters, just use more spare needles and take advantage of
the bent end to use as hold downs.
⊛ Flip and move your project around (often), saving the smallest working
needle for the end & detail work
(fine lines, mouths, trim, veins, etc)
⊛ Work shallow, when finishing, unless you really want to recess detail.
Recessing an iris or mouth line can add surprising dimension.
