- In this video I installed a mod that adds shields into the game. These shields allow me to dash into enemies to deal damage, not only that, some even come with special abilities. This mod also adds in new armor sets and npcs so the question is, will I be able to reach all the way to the final boss Moon Lord using shields only? Stay tuned to find out!

Hear me out... It might sound crazy... Maybe because the wall of flesh is immune to fire debuffs...
The concept of *"Shield"* died of quickly when it got projectile and become flamethrower run midway and then projectiles spamming
i love these vids, i almost wish you could do these mods with a calamity playthrough though for a longer video. that would be awesome but a lot more work for a mod lol

the dash that does tons of damage is a glitch when you get in there hitbox ive done a complete playthrough with this mod and i abused this glitch trust it helped soo much
Man I love when people make mods that just flesh out things that aren't fully fleshed out in vanilla.
... Its sad that I consider the entire Summoner class to be one of these things with mods like Amulet of Many Minions

The hallowed shield was working you are getting immune to the thing that hit you first and then that attack won’t hurt you for a bit

the rising of the shield hero be like:
Maybe on some of the shields they can add a 5% chance to reflect the damage the player takes but has a maximum of 50 damage
If this was way more balanced I think it could be super fun

I like how by dashing up he just break the entire balance of pre-hardmode
Well you gain the ability to dash in Expert mode just after the Eye Of Cthulhu, typically the first boss people fight. So I wouldn't say it completely ruins pre hardmode

Would signature equipment just... glitch out with the Shields ? You can't really have multiple of you dashing at the same time, so the additional projectiles thing is making me doubt the compatibility x)

I love using the shield of cthulhu so I was hopeful for this mod, but it has so much missed potential. Progression honestly isn't that unique, all the shields look the same, and the exploits with the up dash. Anyone know if this mod got updated?

What mod adds the shield class? Alchemist npc?
I'm sure this goes without saying, but this mod is terribly imbalanced. Even without considering bugs such as the multi-hits and lack of i-frames on the projectiles, there is simply no reason to not have a shield equipped. The point of accessories and equipables in general is the opportunity cost, but why would you ever not have what is essentially the shield of cthulhu, flesh knuckles, and the flamelash all rolled into one, but better? (I'm referring to the Lunar Shield) I mean, it's obtainable pre-hardmode but strong enough to be useful for Moon Lord. And yet, there are more shields that are even stronger to fill out the rest of the game's progression. Keep in mind that this video is from the context of a shield only challenge, but imagine using a weapon with these things. Free extra DPS on top of one of the highest defense accessories in the game on top of incredible mobility.
