Looks really good, too bad it’s going to be plagued with terrible reliability. If land rover could improve quality and reliability they would be the best automaker to buy.
I have a grand cherokee 2015. Knock wood...never had an issue with it yet. Im looking at the range rover and see so many people complain about the reliability. That said, I have trepidation.
These car companies are buggin bro, 80 big ones for phony leather on whats supposed to be a lavish car company.... Chevy and Ford do that shit ALLLL the time, and they arent afraid to put cheap materials on their upper tier models either, it's such a travesty...
I have a 2022 90. I love it and have put 6,000+ miles on it so far. It works well on and off road. It is very very comfortable and very nice for long trips. No issues. And it is new so I have a warranty. If it were to become problematic, I would just sell it. They are very in demand so I have no fear.
Absolutely love the styling of this two-door! Just don’t think I could trust the quality and reliability of Land Rover. But if I was rich enough not to care about that, then this is the 4x4 I’d buy.
Well it depends some cars like any model can be reliable some are very unreliable its just depends if ur lucky land rover aka range rover does not have good quality control to say the least
You say that like it’s a bad thing 🤷♂️🤷♂️ there was no way they would have room for this with the current demand for the Jaguar SUV’s. At least this way we get to keep the iconic Land-rovers going.
Everyone commenting on reliability probably doesn’t on Audi and bmw videos, both of which as a manufacturer in Europe are below lr in faults per 1000 vehicles
Cargo door opens to exactly the right side, as 95% of parking usually isn't in a line along a street. Getting in: there a grip integrated in both sides of the dashboard. Less functional than one on the A pillar imo.
The four door 1110 has really grown on me, has a lot of presence in person this 2 door just looks odd. Not that I could afford more than a base model. Unrelated but what CUV would you recommend if you want 5,000lbs of towing. Right now I'm leaning towards a XC40 or CX-50, I think the Bronco Sport with the Turbo also can tow. I don't need something big just something that can haul a trailer with motorcycles.
Having taken delivery of a P400 engined 90, I must say that I’d struggle to fault the car even with the compromised cargo space. I don’t regularly need to take passengers and the 90 handles better and certainly looks a whole lot cooler than the 110. I traded a 2019 RR Sports SVR with the 575 brake engine but the 395 brake P400 is just as interesting and suits the 90. I’ve also had full size RR’s and my wife has had Evoque’s for years and we have never had any reliability issues with any of the Land Rover models. Having had actual extensive experience of the widely mentioned “reliability issues” I have seen no signs of them at all.
Toyota Landcruiser 4 Runner owns the title now . Won’t break down out in middle nowhere 😆😆. Maybe they should lower cost ? Nothing special about that 90
Land Rover is actually Indian; it's under the domain of Tata Motors of India. Anyhow, this new Defender is destined to become an Endless Money Pit, just like most other Defenders before it.
I guess Land Rover don't want to sell vehicles. Their customer focus is so narrow it's not even funny. First, you are targeting people who would trust in their reliability. Second, among those people, people who would buy a 2 door SUV for some stupid reason. Third, among those people that is okay with above two, they would need to want to pay $66K+ for it Fourth, among those people that is okay with above three, they would need to want to off-road Fifth, among those people that is okay with above four conditions, they would need to also forego all the other better options out there (too many to count) and decide to buy this instead.
You’re wrong imo. It’s why lr garages are often next to Porsche ferarri etc. they aren’t targeting people who want reliability or care about the price or even off road. It’s a luxury brand now not the lr of yesteryear. This will be bought and owned by someone well off who won’t own it more than 3 years so won’t have to worry about reliability , will never go off road and doesn’t care about price . And as for better options , if you understand the brand and who they are targeting there isn’t much really. Audi or bmw? They are just as unreliable and don’t have the brand image . Trust me no one that is buying or wanting this car is thinking about any of your points really. You’re describing someone who buys a rav or something .
@@ruddthreetrees1104 So you pretty much described LR's target customer base as people who have $ and don't give a f about reliability and will only drive it to go to whole foods and back. And at the same time, okay with people looking at your car and judging you as the dumbass who would spend any $ to look "cool" in their own means. Got it. LR ranks dead last most of the time any year, while BMW is usually middle of the pack along with Mercedes followed by Audi. And Porsche is another option people can go with and it ranks top 5 among "Luxury" brands. If someone would want to drive a pricey/luxury car, they can at least go with Mercedes or Porsche, not a LR.

@@TATTEDGAY Maybe so but at least the Jeep (and likely Bronco) will be alot cheaper to fix by comparison. That's the main reason I couldn't consider a Defender... They'll never do it, but LR should come out with a "Street" or "Lite" (or some other trendy sounding name) sub-brand where all that off-road hardware is replaced with a coil spring and a shock absorber only. Like any mechanical system, much of it is self-lubricating and if never used, parts get brittle, or seize, or otherwise decay far sooner than they would if they were used regularly. In America, people buy LR/RR because they look great, perform great, and are very luxurious; LR/RR throws in the off-road hardware for no benefit here as no one uses it. Just take it out. Make an LR-America sub-brand or something where the vehicle is purely the luxurious Mall-crawler it is used as here and much of their reliability problems would go away.
