Thanks for the tip on the OCDPLUG. I’ve polished mine 3-4 times now and with all the shell road dust when have down here it doesn’t take long to get full of micro scratches again.

Good luck with that in a hot desert environment folks. Just polish and coat, then the most important is…don’t grab it when you close the door! I always place my finger on the rubberized plastic trim when I close the door

Washed my 2021 yesterday and was wondering when the swirl marks would start showing up on those pillars.. Just like they did on my 2014 and 2016.. great video and good info..

I just want to say thank ya’ll for making this video for fellow f-150 owners. Just bought a 2024 new off the lot and I was fuming over the swirl marks on the pillar. Thought the detailer did a hack job until I found out this is just normal. What’s the long term review? I’m in Florida and would love to pull the trigger if it’s worth it.

Would like to give a shout out to Brite WorX car wash. It is not touchless but soft touch as they call it. I have a membership so I use it at least once a week. I can say that I have no fine scratches on my piano black door pillars or clear coat. It does a really nice job on the wheels and tires as well.

Ordered, thanks guys! Once tried to get a tint place to install vinyl on the pillars of a 2008 Explorer and they said "that will just come off the first time you go through the car wash". This has been a problem for years.
Went to the dealer today. A truck came in exactly like mine and we weren’t sure if I got lucky and mine came in early, wrong! 🤬 Good news is I’m stoked, truck looked awesome and I can’t wait for mine. So, on to mods and next question. Do you think they’ll come out with some precuts for the chrome below the windows and/or chrome strip on running boards. Love to get those covered as well. What are your thoughts or should I just take it somewhere and have them

I don’t think they will make precuts. The install would be too difficult. I would have a local wrap shop knock it out. A good shop can do just about anything.
I was afraid of that, being that they’re long and skinny. Can you buy rolls? I know you did this fir awhile. Think this is DYI if you’re detail oriented or better to hire it out? Thanks again for taking the time to reply. Great vids, keep it up.
This material is very hard to cut. I would definitely hire it out.
Again an excellent install video, just installed on my F-150, looked smooth once I initially squeegeed out the bubbles, but then after 15 minutes in sun, bubbles showed up. Also I had to cut to accommodate the keypad slot on the driver front film where the hole wasn’t exactly right for the keypad. Any feedback on the bubbles?
Bubbles ever go away?
@@vroooom the bubbles did go away at about week 3, the OCD plug’s customer service is top notch, sent me a replacement film for the rear passenger side just incase the bubbles didn’t come out.

Sweet ..do you know of if this product will work on the black textured pillars that the lower trim level trucks?..mine is an stx and I'd like the piano black.
I don’t think it would stick long term. I would see if you could swap the non textured to the piano gloss pillars.

It still looks perfect. PPF is the way to go unless you just enjoy polishing plastic every few months.

given how new your vehicle is, I wouldn't use this product unless you've already scratched up your pillars. Instead, ceramic coat your vehicle if you haven't already and / or apply clear PPF. This is more of a cover up and not sure why it's called PPF.
