I am deeply moved that some of my family photo's are included in this wonderful documentary - around 8:21 - and almost all the photo's at the final montage are from my collection. What an honour to be able to have contributed in a small way to the history of a Township called Awali - a Township and a country that is embedded with love in the Knight family DNA :) Bapco - and the team who made us SO welcome in October 2019 - Thank you...... Mike Knight - Awali resident from 1952 to 1967
I was born in Awali Hospital in 1963. My father (John East) was a Petroleum Engineer for Bapco and was a keen golfer and cricketer. My Grandad & Grandma lived there too - Harold & Madge Warburton, infamous at the Awali Cricket Club in the mid-to-late '50s. Did anyway know my family back then?
I grew up there from 1951 to 1961. Fondly remember.
I actually lived there for 2 years in the late 80s when I was a kid. My family still have fond memories.
