- When you're not a baker and tackle a treasured family recipe once a year, it's always risky. See how to make the Eastern European pastry, Potica, handed down from the cookbook, Pots and Pans. My family's version of the rolled strudel is made with walnuts and instead of raisins and there are other additions. Like many novice bakers I left out a key ingredient. Did I ruin it?
