One of my favorite classic musicals! Petula was wonderful.
Thank you, for such a wonderful memory 😁
Wonderful - just wonderful, and it brings me back to my childhood when my parent took me to the movies to see Finian's Rainbow. Magic !
Absolutely beautiful performance! She's still got it and sounds absolutely fantastic. Thank you, Petula, for such happy memories. Your career has been so incredible. We are so lucky you decided to share your talent with us!
Crystal clear voice. Such talent
In my opinion, Petula's vocals are the best in this song sung, by her in her 70s. She was one of the best at performing show tunes.
Saw Finian's Rainbow when i was ten years old ((forty years ago). It's still a great movie!!
Thank you so much ‘Abe G. Santini’ for posting the lyrics to this passionate song from “Finnian’s Rainbow”. Petula Clark was great in the movie! 🥰👍
this is absolutely beautiful, thank you so much
I remember seeing Finian's Rainbow back in 1969 . I also remember Petula clark singing Look to the rainbow in the movie. I really enjoyed it. Now when I hear the song,it brings back memories .

this always makes me tear up
Awesome! I really like this musical! She was the daughter of actor Fred Astaire in the movie.
I'll always love her, can't help it!
Petula Méga Star🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 🌟
Petula Clark and Ella Logan sing my favorite versions of this song
Saw it for the VERY FIRST TIME just last month, where she, Fred Astaire, and Don Francks have such BEAUTIFUL CHEMISTRY TOGETHER. Besides, Pet doesn't do a whole lot of crooning in her music, but she really does it SO sweet, and yet, SO cute on both this and How Are Things in Glocca Morra? Plus, I happen to be pushing 40, too =)
LOOK TO THE RAINBOW
On the day I was born,
Said my father, said he.
I've an elegant legacy
Waitin' for ye,
'Tis a rhyme for your lips
And a song for your heart,
To sing it whenever
The world falls apart.
Look, look
Look to the rainbow.
Follow it over the hill
And the stream.
Look, look
Look to the rainbow.
Follow the fellow
Who follows a dream.
So I bundled my heart
And I roamed the world free;
To the East with the lark
To the West with the sea.
And I searched all the earth
And I scanned all the skies,
And I found it at last,
In my own true love’s eyes.
Look, look
Look to the rainbow.
Follow it over the hill
And the stream.
Look, look
Look to the rainbow.
Follow the fellow
Who follows a dream.
'Twas a sumptuous gift
To bequeath to a child.
Oh the lure of that song
Kept her feet funnin' wild.
For you never grow old
And you never stand still,
With whippoorwills singin'
Beyond the next hill.
Look, look
Look to the rainbow.
Follow it over the hill
And the stream.
Look, look
Look to the rainbow.
Follow the fellow
Who follows a dream.
Follow the fellow,
Follow the fellow,
Follow the fellow
Who follows a dream.
😘💕💕💕💕💕💕💕Pétula
How are things in Glocca Morra lately. Hope everyone is safe. The World fell apart but we will all be ok soon guaranteed.
It sounds like you really enjoyed the movie... You're pushing 40 and I'm pushing 60...
Is he supposed to be he rainbow (0:53)?
Legendární Divotvorný hrnec z 1948 , Voskovec+Werich. píseň Tam Za Tou Duhou zpívala Soňa Červená. O 20 let později ji nahrála Eva Pilarová. I tady platí, že dobrý český text není lehké udělat a musí se strašně dobře umět.
So I roamed all the world
okay, a bit much percussion though. her voice distinct like eartha kitt's. interlude unnecessary also. thanks for finding this. i've looked for a while. should've 'looked to the rainbow' first!
Be rich forever, by finding The One Who will love us forever. Read how, now.
It may be great, for a short time, to live in the riches of this world,
but....
let God make you "rich" forever!
How?
"For ye [you] know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich,
yet for your sakes he became poor, that
ye through his poverty might be rich." (Read 2 Cor. 8:9).
"And God is able to make all [His] grace abound toward you;
that ye [you], always having all sufficiency in all things,
may abound to every good work:"
(Read 2 Cor. 9:8).
(17) "Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches,
but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;"
(18) "That they do good, that they be
rich in good works, ready to distribute..."
(19) ".... that they may lay hold on
eternal life." (1 Tim. 6:17-19).
Romans 6:23b, "... the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
"But my God shall supply all your need
according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." (Read Philippines 4:19).

Man can u hurt a song anymore,, Aretha Franklin is the only one who does it right.I have no clue what this is
Actually this song is from the musical Finians Rainbow and while I might agree with you that Aretha's version is more pleasing to my ears, it is Pattie LaBelle who's version is best.
MannaTi LoL
Skillz1855, don't know if you are aware of this, but I remember her singing this song in a movie called, "Finian's Rainbow". Not sure when Aretha Franklin or Patti LaBelle did their covers, but as far as I'm concerned, Petula Clark sings this song just fine and sang it first. I don't know what you mean by 'hurting a song anymore'. There's nothing wrong about the way Petula sings it. Sounds JUST FINE to me.
listen to her version in finians rainbow with fred and then make that statement
skillz1855 Such utter nonsense -- afraid you know nothing of the SHOW this comes from. And with no respect to the elegance and beautiful voices of Aretha Franklin, her redition (or that of Patti LaBelle, also well know for her cover of this piece) totally KILLS the IRISH of it.. which is half the point of the song!
