I have been playing this song for a long time now and i'v never heard it done like this. Yes They kept it the same but put there own twist , punches and dynamics to it very awesome
I totally agree. Billy has a really hard time just laying back in the groove and being a bassist. A song like this isn't the right time to show off. That being said, Kotzen and the drummer did a great job of staying true to the song.
Love Billy too, but this song is all about the soul in that voice. Same as with Mickey Thomas singing it. Got to see TWD last night for the first time. I’m ashamed that it took me this long
Yes, thank you for sharing! First time hearing this cover,,,, AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING ;) Great musicians and what an amazing voice. Definitely did not expect those high notes. I'm saving them to my favorites!
My bud showed me this version when they made it. LOVE Sheehan to death...BUT, MY GOD! He's a professional! He should know that that bass tone could NEVER be for this song! EVER! In a million light years!!!
Saw Elvin Bishop live at the Midnight Show 1971 Fillmore East were the Alman Brothers recorded their Album 7 hours Jonny Winters & Rick Derringer Police stopped the show at 7:30am😂😂😂
Keep a watch on their your dates for when they come near you. I saw then in Atlanta for the first time 2 weeks ago. I don't think there's a live band that can touch then right now. You won't be disappointed.
Billy’s sound and tone is Awesome!!!....Richie’s chops on the tele and voice...Amazingly good!....Mike is the master on the tubs!... Rock’n’roll “Winery Dogs”.....Please come and play some Rock Shows in Australia!!! 🎸🥁👍😎
To pull off a band with a three members is not something simple. Each member has to fill the holes and make each song full. These three are fully up to the task.
Richie Kotzen messing up the song, in the beginning was pretty funny. ''Your beard get's grey and suddenly you forget everything'' I guess,he's getting too old for this shit... xD P.S. Still an awesome performance, thx for sharing!
Fe Ciega I don't think that was an acting, believe me, happens XD i'm pretty amateur guitar player, and happens a lot ... he's a pro so one is nothing, but still is funny
Moises Horacio Yeah,I read an interview with Richie Sambora earlier today, they asked him if he ever messed up a song live.He said yes,it happens all the time to all musicians, specially when you have written so many songs, sometimes you forget the chords or the lyrics. The only thing to can do is beeing a pro and take it with humor.Just like Richie Kotzen did here with the beard joke. :-)
Great version of a classic tune! Love Ritchie's playing and voice, and drums are super tight.....not a fan of Billy's tone, and a over-playing on this track. Cheers!
Ritchie's such a force to be reckoned with, an all-round fully qualified musician. Shame, I think, about Billy's tone on this performance, seemed a bad choice of effects.
Tell me and show me a bass player that's arrogant.....example this video. Unbelievably this bass player has great talent. When he's kept in his role as the pocket.
@@dothnamblues8178 I won't apologize but will say this, I grew up listening to Elvin Bishop, with the Butterfield Blues Band, Al Kooper, the Allman Brothers and Lord knows who else. He was / is a fine blues player. The guitar work here doesn't match up. Mickey Thomas, while not a blues singer per se, can handle himself quite well. Again, this vocal doesn't come close. There's no feeling to this version. This is simply a group of guys having fun. Having fun is great but don't take it out on the tune, or at least don't put this out there. Maybe a recorded version would be an improvement. This just doesn't work for me.
Great musicians but there's something about Portnoy which i don't like... hmmm. maybe he always play drums just as he used to do it in Dream Theater, i mean, with a hard rock style. Imo this cover requires a different feeling.
Yes I have ears I making a living using my ears. I am a musician and a Producer/Engineer. Every Musician has a style, while his playing can be busy, in Winery, he is far less busy then he ever was in DTH. So maybe you should do a little more ear training and music appreciation, but judging from some of your other comments on you page you aren't real good with change and doesn't seem like you have a very wide scope of musical taste.
Loren Griffin Mike P is a great dude and a fantastic drummer but at the same time i really love this song which leads me to express (with all respect) my opinion about this Winery version. What Richie K does on this song is absolutely accurate because he understands that this is a song full of nostalgia and melancholy. I think that Mike and Billy didn't understand or feel this fact... well, that's my impression. Anyways, I feel flattered knowing that a musician/producer/engineer waste his time reading the comments from a guy (me) that makes his a living as a dog trainer.
Without vocals, most groups never really make it. The vocals here are supreme. The only thing holding rhese fellas back is luck, management and exposure probably.
Yeah I get it Billy your amazing but did you need to show every lick in your repertoire in this one song. This song needed one solo and it was not a bass solo. Through the entire song no less. Maybe the busy bass lines wouldn’t have been so annoying had you been playing clean and not had your rig set to heavy-metal mode. During the solo mile was carrying the song alone because you were playing bass solo too.
He's a fantastic bass player, but imo Billy Sheehan has the worst most garbage tone of anyone - both in studio recordings and live. I'm embarrassed for him, and really wish he'd find a tech who can help create this horribile mess.
The bass is all wrong for these kind of songs.Fooled around should hark back to motown, not bass squeals, oversaturated tone with most,if not,all bottom end evaporated. Yeah there'll be messages like, cope but keep that stuff for Mr Big perhaps?
What a great voice!
Dam, you aint kiddin!!
everything about this band is amazing, Nice work!
Damn if you guys don't kick this song in the ass!!! Thank you for your rendition of this song. You honor the song.
What a voice! Richie is really enjoying the song. Great artist.
Richie is the only person I have ever heard sing this as well as Mickey Thomas. Well done.
He doesn't even touch Mickey Thomas. Don't be silly.
He's decent but Mickey is on a whole nother level vocally
Check out Henry Lee Summers version..
He has Joe Walsh on guitar and Mickey Thomas on vocals
Awesome. This band gives me hope for music today.
Agreed
Just found this, boy what a version of one of my all time favorite songs ....
Seen Richie and Billy back in the day a few times with Mr. Big. Richie is a killer singer.
I have been playing this song for a long time now and i'v never heard it done like this. Yes They kept it the same but put there own twist , punches and dynamics to it very awesome
Great voice! This is not an easy song to sing.
Love it! Loved that song as a kid, but this is just a really cool version. Great job playing to the song on this, and Kotzen's is made for this tune!
I've always wanted to cover this tune!!!... good job on the vocals!.. and the lead wasn't too shabby either!
I love elvin bishop nuff said ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ kick ass version
Very Nice Guys!!! You have a great feel for this song. I remember when this came out.
Awesome job. Hit them high notes. You guys are great musicians
Nice playing some real music love it.
Great voice !!!
Actually the more I hear of this,.the more I appreciate it!. Well done boys!
Fantastic!
Absolutely perfect
One of the greatest bands around
Never a bad song from these guys
temazo! y muy buena version
Great song from Elven Bishop.
Dont get me wrong, i love Billy but, his bass tone is killing this song.
I totally agree. Billy has a really hard time just laying back in the groove and being a bassist. A song like this isn't the right time to show off. That being said, Kotzen and the drummer did a great job of staying true to the song.

By all means, go back to the e-z listening channel where you belong.
Billy could NOT play in ZZ Top.

Why hasn't the group released this song on a record or ep or live album? Fantastic version!
Okay… my goal is to see this band now!!! Wow!!
Simplemente maravillosos oir a estos tres prodigios , destilan creatividad unica x todas partes !!
These Dudes Can play! Never heard of them. Hell of a band yea

great love it hell yea !
Conmovedora Version muy Hermosa
Sheenans bass sound is unbelievable. But I've never heard someone ride all over someone's solo like that!
😂
Ruined the performance for me
Billy is famous for this tune it down

WOW. Amazing. These guys are definitely the best rock power trio 2nd only to Rush. And you should hear 'em do Rush songs!

Sounds great. Billy covers so much ground, you don't dare want a second guitar player with him around.
been listening to this cover on and off for a while and am trying to figure out the first song Ritchie starts. HELP!!!! Love this cover btw
Guitar tone is toast too.
To pull off a band with a three members is not something simple. Each member has to fill the holes and make each song full.
These three are fully up to the task.
Tremendo Cover!!!!!
si es muy muy bueno y la voz de kotzen es increible por suerte no se encasillo solo en un estilo y supo aprovechar todo el talento.
I wish billy could play clean sometimes. Awsome bassist, he can play the groove as well as shred, but his tone really screws this tune.
I agree %100 Bass is good but over baring on this. Have heard the whole set and it sounded great there. Just not here.
I completely disagree I love what he did here it fills the void
@@mangstrum he overplayed as always and ruins the song.

En el tema Six Feet Deeper Ocurre algo similar y comienza con elévate es divertido, pero como dices es una gran actuacion.

no me referia a que estaba actuando me referia a que fue un gran espectaculo y si sucede pero lo tomaron con humor saludos.
He has to memorize so many songs that sometimes it gets difficult to remember them all, nothing to do with getting older really
just discovered this..excellent.
Great version of a classic tune! Love Ritchie's playing and voice, and drums are super tight.....not a fan of Billy's tone, and a over-playing on this track. Cheers!
Bass should be felt, not heard. It's not lead guitar for a reason.
The bass player ruins this performance
Todos músicos prodigiosos, pero Kotzen un escalón, o dos, arriba. FUUUCK!!!
👍🎶🎸
nose cual es mejor jeje
Nice cover of a 70's classic.
They sound like Talas in this song
😄😄😄😄😄.
SOOOOO GOOOOOOOD
Does anyone knows the wrong song?
Sara Smile!
Yup ka
There's a phantom guitar here.

Great but how about wooly y

El amor heterosexual
