Even this tree has flowers blooming, it is not in a good condition. According to careful observation, there was a part that went up dead from a portion of the bottom of the back.
The cause of that problem I found that it was supposed to be replanted, but it was not.
In order to make the tree recover, the solutions that I did were removing the dead part of the tree, using preservative treatment and replanting.
Originally, this tree has been grown as making a right stream line.
(I will determine which side should come to the front from such a condition of a forward tilt and the magnitude of the amplitude of the core tree-branch.)
The idea I got was replacing the front and the back to reform this tree since the part of the rear foot of the trunk, which should be removed, would become its charming point.
The core of the tree leaning back is out of "bonsai theory".
(I think that this is meaning less theory for the progressive work.)
I thought that replacing the front and the back would not have any sense of incongruity,
when the core of the tree starting the lean forward was pruned.
In order to reduce the stress on the tree, pruning the core of the tree was done a half of it and wait until the skin of the tree rolls up.
Also, pruning should be done to reduce the numbers of the twigs from one top of the branch, to leave
two twigs, and picking the bloomed flowers and buds of flowers are very effective to reduce the stress
    on the tree.

I...couldn't have cut off all those pretty flowers. I'd have waited until after they'd bloomed, but azaleas are one of my favorite flowers, and I know nothing about bonsai

In ordor to avoid die back on azaleas larger branches are cut in two stages. The first is to extent the cut to half way or 3/4 of the thickness. After another year the branch is cut off completely. Azaleas form a very thin bark. where the sugar are flowing down to the roots. If the branch where to be cut off in one stage, the entire lower part near that branch would be weakened. For azalea the feeding roots lie on opposite side in the soil, hence the top is feed by the root directly under the tree. Distressing that part can lead to many issues down the road. Bonsai focus has a nice video ua-cam.com/video/l2DJPcA7ymE/v-deo.html, in the last section you can see the die back on the roots from the rooten way part in the crown.

I am really surprised, I did not know you could hollow in the trunk of an azalea! I do not understand the branch carved in the beginning?
I learned many things on your videos but start at the beginning ^ ^

Soiless mixtures are used for bonsai because they work. Here are some theories about why. 1) The rate of breakdown of the media is slow. 2) The majority of the material is rock or rock-like and helps create a network of fine roots. 3) It provides just the right combination of air / water to keep the plant growing but not cause rampant growth.
