With all respect to Swami Ananda, and all the works he has done for spiritualism in Nepal, I have to say that his interpretation of Buddhism is misleading and sometimes outright wrong. He is concocting his own ideas about Buddha Dharma and its philosophies. He is not an authoritative person to interpret Buddhism. He makes several mistakes major or minor, while interpreting the teaching of the Buddha, just like his own master Rajaneesh ji. (1) It is wrong to say that understanding of First Arya Satya or First Noble Truth is enough. Neither Buddha said it, nor any of the Buddhists up-to present day, who are more authoritative than Swami Ananda to talk about it, would accept it. One needs all four noble one's truth in order to traverse the path and come out of the suffering, which is another name for Samsara. It is like saying "diagnosis of a disease is enough; we don't need to take medicine to be cured." It is not a new thing among Indian spiritual traditions, especially Sramana traditions, to identify our life with full of misery and suffering. But the interpretation of the Dukkha of the Buddha goes deeper. Swami Ananda is only familiar with the first and second layer of the meaning of dukkha, which is almost common to all Indian and other spiritual traditions, ie. Dukkhadukkhataa - the miseries and suffering mostly related with body and mental state and Viparinaama Dukkha - the suffering of due to change. But that is only two meanings of Dukkha according to the Buddha and they are bit superficial. The Buddha goes further deep, by saying Samskaara Dukkha ie the fact that all 'composed' phenomena (samskrta-dharma) are Dukkha. This is related with Four Noble One's Truth too in a sequence of pairs ( first is there because of the second, and third is there because of the fourth). What it means is that all Dharmas come about due to causes and conditions and they lack independence. This is a unique theory of causality, as taught by the Buddha, called "dependent origination" (Pratitya Samutpaada). Our body and mind both comes about due to other causes and conditions. This never ends until we consciously break the chain, which is taught in the 12 links of dependent origination. In short, anything that comes about due to causes and conditions has three or four marks or characteristics: it is impermanent (anitya), suffering (dukkha), non-self (anatma) and sunya (empty of inherent existence). Only through deeper understanding and first hand realization of this aspect of Dukkha taught by the Buddha that liberates us. Swami Ananda has missed this point by miles while he mentioned the term Dukkha. We desire (trisnaa) because we misunderstand the basic reality of all the composed phenomena. (2) Buddha's line of awakening is completely different from any of the Indian Darsana-s. AB odhisattva, a candidate for Buddhahood, learns from other Buddhas, and these Buddhas help to produce future Buddhas. So, there is no way that the Buddha "summarized" all the other Darsana-s (philosophies) and presented it to the audience in a syncretic way. Buddhiam is not the 'cream" of all the other Indian philosophies. Buddhism is a unique philosophy and spiritual path, never heard or taught by any Rshis, or Munis in the ancient India. You can read Nagara Sutta and Dhammacakkapavatana Sutta, where the Buddha makes this claim. Buddhists do not take Veda or Purana, or Upanishad as authentic and having contained even a grain of truth. The Buddha and all Buddhist masters always refuted anything within those scriptures and said that they are full of wrong views and ideas (mithyaa-drsti). For Buddhists, these scriptures are like sand, which would never give oil (moksha), however you press it. So, it is out of question that the Buddha 'churned' them all and took out the cream (nauni) called Buddhism. (later you will see in other videos that Swami Ananda would talk about "witness" (sakshi) as the teaching of the Buddha, which is totally wrong. Please look at the comment section of other videos too, where I would leave pertinent comment about his misinterpretations). (3) Maara is not only mind. This is another modernist interpretation, and is totally wrong. There are four Maaras and one of them is a Deva, called Devaputra maara. (4) There are many Jatakas, the past life story of the Buddha, where the Bodhisattva, the future Buddha, was born as different animals such as hare and elephant. But, the Jataka of the elephant and the hare do no exist, and hence, it cannot be the instance in which the future Buddha (bodhisattva at that time) generated his wish to be the Buddha (bodhicitta). Swami ji concocted his own story. There are other stories both within Pali tradition and Mahayana tradition which describes for what reason and under which circumstance the bodhisattva, the future buddha to be, generated the mind of bodhi. Why to fabricate stories when they are actually present within the Buddhist scriptures? (4) There weren't only 500 Enlightened Bhikkhus (arhat). There were thousands, including Bhikkhunis. It was a convention in India to write anything in a round about figure. Furthermore, Mahayana scriptures mentions even more astronomical figure about the disciples who were Enlightened (different stages) within the lifetime of the Buddha.

The real nature of this world(sansara) is dukha.the realization of dukha is begining step to realization of sunya.the desire to sukha is altimate cause of dukha.all living being are born of trisna(sukha bhoga, sex) and died on dukha bhoga(mritu). If we have to end dukha, we have cross this duality nature(opposite nature).the non dual nature is sunya.
