Fair use is an affirmative defense for copyright law, it doesn't automatically protect anyone for anything and it is only possible to determine fair use in a federal court, so nobody can claim fair use to prevent a takedown. MauLer and the EFAP crew covered this extensively, Chris. It kicked off a year ago with Hasan leaving while playing a Jay Exci video and refusing to credit him or let him promote himself at the end of the video (Hasan rushed to stop it before it could finish playing that part). Hasan doubled down and would not apologise. Recently, MauLer got Destiny, Muta, xQC and a couple of others together in a couple of calls and got some hilarious clips out of it. Worth looking into. Oh, and Hasan got chewed out by Ethan Klein on this subject on their show recently, too. He barely put up a fight.

Another creator, like his content or hate it, who puts a ton of effort into his creation is MauLer. 5 hours of edits, different cuts, and meticulously placed reactions from media is an insane feat.
Ngl his content would benefit a lot from being shorter. I get that it's kind of his whole deal that he does shot by shot analysis, but a lot of the times it feels he is saying extremely trivial comments and nitpicks just because he wants something to say.
@@ArgaJacintThat's a big reason I had to stop watching his content. It's his schtick to have longform content at an extreme, and I can't begrudge anyone that, but the longer the videos got, the shorter I spent with them.

@@kielweiss3606 I'm not talking about when he discusses a video for 2 hours. I'm specifically criticizing when he leaves the room, or says nothing at all for 30 minutes. See "Man of Steal" by Mooler.
Looking back, maybe we should’ve just let The Fine Bros create react world. Then all the garbage could’ve been in a singular place off UA-cam. Everyone would’ve won
A lot of content creators feel this way. A podcast called EFAP has talked about this in depth over the course of a multiple streams. #147, 148, 179, 180, and 181 are all critiques of streamers that steal content while showing distain for the people who made it. Yes every episode of this podcast is very long but they are well worth it. The conversations are interesting and there's plenty of fun side tangents to break up the larger discussion.
I haven't watched a second but something tells me this video may not be entirely on the DreamWorks animated comedy hit starting Jerry Seinfeld titled 'Bee Movie'
I may be biased because I watch a lot of Hassan, but it's always because I like to watch and hear him. He'll often pause a video every 10-20 seconds and talk for 1-10 minutes, turning a 15 minute jubilee video into an hour long spiel. Then he'll have his editors compact that down to 20 minutes and post it on his UA-cam channel. (other fan/bot channels will take his whole stream and just uploaded it without edits.) xqc will just upload the whole thing, along with hardly ever talking apart from laughing or "chat is this real". But I'll agree with Hassan getting up to go to the toilet, he should play a be right back, I'm annoyed when I have to watch 1-2 minutes of the video where he isn't commenting especially when he misses a good bit.
Back when he was alive, Emer Prevost did “Reaction & Review” for movies, his content never showed clips of the movie(s) he was watching, and, as the title would suggest, he would immediately review the movie after. That’s the kind of reaction content we need.
The streamers who has had streams with the production value closest and even exceeding youtube videos is Jerma. His Dollhouse, Baseball, and last years Christmas stream are full blown skit in and of themselves.
I think streamers should be able to relate pretty easily tho. If i go outside an event xqc put together and just sell my own tickets to get in its pretty similar. Leeching off of months of work, no value really added even though i put in "work", money out of his pocket and in mine. "But I'm boosting eyes on the event" would sound crazy.
I'm glad there is some light being shed on the elephant in the room. How youtube has gone from a way to showcase your creativity and is instead now a stepping stone to twitch (in a lot of cases). Making produced and edited content is hard. Playing games and reacting to things off the cuff and being paid to do so in real time is much easier. So once the twitch takes off the youtube channel becomes a VOD dumping ground. So it's just a pipeline of people "paying their dues" essentially by being forced to do their own work by creating content that propels them into the position where they don't have to do that content creation anymore and just coast off the work of others. I don't know about anyone else but it seems that creativity on the Internet (in large part) has become about monetary gain and nothing else. Everything feels like a vehicle for popularity and money rather than an interest in sharing something with others. #notallyougettheidea

@@daswasich1147 I swear I heard someone else recently ask “do spiders see the future” and immediately thought of Jay Exci and his spider milk hahaha
hasan doesn't need to apologize because he not only streams for anywhere between 8 to 10 hours EVERY DAY, but he also lives in a house with his mom, dad and brother. he usually makes/orders food for them. oh, and that's not even acknowledging that the idea that he doesn't add anything and doesn't talk at all is JUST WRONG. ask any, and i do mean *any*, hasan fan and they'll tell you that - if anything - he pauses and talks too much. in fact he talks and pauses so much that other youtubers have started inserting jokes into their videos about it because they know he'll like the video subject. in fact one of the most famous hasan clips of all time is a video essay youtuber putting in a joke about how he knew hasan was gonna pause a second beforehand. you guys have fallen for propaganda 😂
@@zzeroara9511 i am honestly Not sure if you are trolling and that fact scares me. So i will provide an answer for both cases:
If you are serious: please take a Moment to consider the fact that you sound like a parody.
If you are trolling: well played!
I need Chris to angrily tell me what I feel back to me and the fact he doesn’t do so more often makes me angry.
We need a petition to change xQc's name to "Zoomhauer" comeonmanthisiscrazychatyahknowhatImeanmang! Pfsssht WOOOOW!"
reminds me of the Great Grandma from Rapsitte Street Kids
xQc also did the very funny thing that is clearly very much legal and wouldn't get him into trouble whatsoever, and streamed the entirety of The Dark Knight and maybe a couple other movies.
Like just a movie night type deal, with his trademark reaction of either not talking or not being there at all.
cant wait to watch xqc react to this
I'd love to watch Chris's video twice
9:15 This absolutely devastated my soul
I don't really expect someone to be a fully functioning adult until about 26, and he's right on that border. Time will tell if he cleans up his act.
why would he? he has no reason to change until he actually gets punished for the BS he's doing.
@@sillyking1991 I'm not a neuroscientist, but I believe the frontal lobe doesn't finish developing in males until about 26, with tolerances on either side. Also 26 usually comes with enough life experience for a person's conscience to kick in.
I'm not saying he will, but if he doesn't after a few years, then judge him all you want.
The “you want me to die” reminds me of something I think you should leave would make
and only 5 years too late, chris is right on schedule
What a weird ad for Starfield
I can't wait to watch Asmongold's reaction to this when he re-uploads it to UA-cam.
At least Asmongold turns 5 min videos into 40, its kinda crazy.
@@brunosouza3326Right!? I was just thinking that. He actually makes commentary that goes beyond what's being shown instead of just "did you see that" "that's crazy bro" and "cool I liked that video"
XQC gives vibes of Jillian from Family Guy being like "I just heard about Hitler on the history channel. Somebody should stop him."
I'm so ashamed and upset that I liked the sponsor insert. I thought it was ACTUALLY part of the video... I mean, technically it is and isn't. It's meta. Love it.
"What am I supposed to do? Die?"
"Yes"
I don't remember the 2007s that much, but what I do remember is when Chris used to upload somewhat regularly, like a video every other month
This has been the most comprehensive, philosophical breakdown of the Bee Movie.
... still waiting on that glass vs plastic Snapple bottle video.
DarkViperAU has a fantastic video series on the topic, i think he sums up the problems that reaction streamers cause perfectly. He also has the unique outlook of being a streamer first and a youtuber second. Great video btw, another banger as always.
Hit the nail on the head, man. Been following the react stuff on the EFAP podcast, they have a very similar take on the XQC situation. Also, glad you're enjoying Starfield
Drink every time Chris says "in and of itself"
Chris is the only youtuber I know that can upload so infrequently and unpredictably that he can literally be a month off and can still do numbers. Love you chris.
I was LITERALLY thinking about the Bee Movie yesterday and was like "They're gonna make a sequel in like two years"
EDIT: Oh this is not actually about the Bee Movie lmao.
Chirs Can't hold himself to deadlines. Because nobody wants to hold him
I think Jerma and DougDoug are some of the only streamers that put a genuine amount of effort and uniqueness into their streams.
Chris saying content and honey at the same time came dangerously close to sounding like cunny
7:30 Bottle goes out, water goes on. You can't explain that!..Seriously though, that clip answers so many of my questions about xQc.
I never thought I'd see the day I rewind a video during an Ad to catch all the lore
I legitimately can’t believe I still subscribe to this channel. I love you, Chris.
Chris, being late to the punch is not the same as turning time sensitive things into timeless things.
The fact that I have never had an edge in life and struggled for the bare minimum whilst xQc does the bare minimum to live like a king. I doubt it gets better. It was truly disappointing to see xQc skip away on stream, stealing content at that.
The reason he became famous in the first place was because he was a professional Overwatch player back in 2016-2018. He got into a few controversies that were both not fair to him, so it bolstered his notoriety even more.
He hasn't done anything for the past 5 years, but that's how he got his start
Chris is my favorite Ray Gun
But is Mr. Ray Gun your favourite Chris?
I mean I came here for Bee Movie. 'Stayed to watch a 27yo discover the concept condensation. Where is earth?
This ain't Weird Wide Web, but it'll do Chris. it'll do.
And hey, dunking on how shitty xQc is never outdated.
I listen/watch you on LSM and Snark Tank for hours every week but it's always a treat to see when you put a video on UA-cam no matter the subject just like this video "all about the bee movie"
Prepared for insanity, will update
THATS WHAT THE AD BREAKS ARE FOR!!!
I remember this being big drama when Hasan did this to Jay Exci's house video. Hasan would say barely anything, and when he did talk, Hasan just described what he saw without adding anything of value. It's so wild to see people defending him, as well as that "xqc" guy.
Hasan is nicknamed Pausinabi bc he'll turn a 20 minute video into a 2 hour react. It's the definition of transformative fair use.
@@kielweiss3606 I'm not talking about when he discusses a video for 2 hours. I'm specifically criticizing when he leaves the room, or says nothing at all for 30 minutes. See "Man of Steal" by Mooler.
@@TwentyPercentDash I doubt he will watch that
I cannot tell you how devastated I was near the end of the video when I realized that we weren't getting back to Bee Movie.
We are living in the dumbest time-line. Hope you're doing ok Chris
You know a video is good when it's still entertaining despite being about a tobic that happened 37 internet years ago
Soooo.....
Why were your glasses still on? Nice glasses off
Looking back, maybe we should’ve just let The Fine Bros create react world.
As late as it is, I always appreciate your timeless spins on topics.
I haven't watched a second but something tells me this video may not be entirely on the DreamWorks animated comedy hit starting Jerry Seinfeld titled 'Bee Movie'
I'm at 19:15. I think review of the movie is about to start.
Chris my dentist said I was born with extra room for my wisdom teeth and I still have them, how do we compare evolution wise?
Good job, Chris. I’m proud of you.
loved the upload, and i'll waiting be waiting patiently while you play starfield for 10 days straight.
"Hastag I hope Starfield is bad" sadly Starfield was excellent and Chris was unable to produce content for another month.
Wait.
Bee Movie was from 2007? Time flies
No, bees fly
@@iwantsomepie Time... bees?
I was genuinely hoping for a Bee movie analysis I find Jerry Seinfeld as a bee endlessly fascinating.
Don't have the time... broski, I started medical school this week. *I* don't have the time, and I'm playing starfield lol
But I'll agree with Hassan getting up to go to the toilet, he should play a be right back, I'm annoyed when I have to watch 1-2 minutes of the video where he isn't commenting especially when he misses a good bit.
yeah hasan has gotten way better with being mindful of how and who he reacts. xqc just doesn’t care at all lol
Back when he was alive, Emer Prevost did “Reaction & Review” for movies, his content never showed clips of the movie(s) he was watching, and, as the title would suggest, he would immediately review the movie after. That’s the kind of reaction content we need.
7:50 I'M DEAD!!!
The streamers who has had streams with the production value closest and even exceeding youtube videos is Jerma. His Dollhouse, Baseball, and last years Christmas stream are full blown skit in and of themselves.
It’s always a good day when Chris uploads
The more glasses off style videos are great. The hand cramp editing is always welcome, but these videos are still fantastic watches
Looking forward to your Starfield review in 9 months
