“Red Riding Hood” pop-up book illustrated by Vojtěch Kubašta

  • The book is one of a collection of Kubašta’s illustrated works on display from July 18, 2014 to January 16, 2015 at the Bienes Museum of the Modern Book, located on the 6th floor of Broward County’s Main Library, 100 S. Andrews Ave., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301.
    In 2001, the Bienes Museum began collecting the works of Vojtěch Kubašta (1914-1992), the Czech paper engineer, children’s book illustrator, and graphic designer. The Bienes Museum has the largest public institutional collection of Kubašta’s works in the United States.
    The Bienes Museum of the Modern Book, The Dianne and Michael Bienes Special Collections and Rare Book Library, is a section of the Broward County Library Division, a service of the Broward County Board of County Commissioners. The Museum houses special collections totaling more than 15,000 items, including rare books, artifacts, manuscripts, and reference materials.
