For all those asking for an alternative to buttermilk, use plain unflavored yogurt. Buttermilk, traditionally (atleast in India) is made by blending together yogurt and water and then flavored with salt and masalas. :)
Thank you!
Is it lassi? :s
I know this is old but do you use this everyday? And for how long? I don't remember her mentioning that in the video I think

@may almansoori no it is not they are different
I just HAD to leave a comment...this stuff works REALLY well..I've only used it for two weeks now but the dark circles are getting lighter and the fine lines are getting less noticeable...I didn't think anything could help my dark circles because they're pretty dark..I've had to use alot of concealer and it makes my under eye area look terrible and makes the fine lines look even worse(and I use a makeup sponge and very lightly pat it on)...bless you for making this and sharing it :)
I'm going to try your turmeric mask too :)
SunshineGirlz34 we dont have butter milk in turkey , which milk should i use instead????
Sevilay Kel
Maybe you could use yogurt,I don't know if that would do as well as butter milk..maybe try the plain Greek yogurt..I hope that helps :)
SunshineGirlz34 i will give it a try , thank you
Sevilay Kel
You are most welcome,I hope it works :)
Hello
I think we can use normal milk. Buttermilk is just a more acidic in ph milk whereas normal ones are neutral. You can make buttermilk by adding lemon juice or vinegar to milk. Helpful video anw thnx! :)
Thx for the tips ☺️
thank you
LovesBlueberryCake thank you so muchhhh bc I don’t have buttermilk
OMG , thanks😁
OMG THANK YOU!!!!!!
I used this mask for about 5 days now morning and night and two people have told me that my under eyes look lighter but they haven't completely gone so I will keep you guys updated on if this works really well.
do you use butter milk? is there any substitute for it?
+gwerlin I used milk Nd I squeezed some lemon juice in to it or sometimes I use plain yoghurt
I want to know! let us know lol I plan to try it anyway. maybe I'll take progress pics.
Hadia's Lifestyle how did it go ?
Hadia's Lifestyle how did it go for you? and did you use buttermilk?
holy crap your face is so fucking clean, damn
I love her she explains everything in detail and makes it so simple mawah x
I like the stain honestly! I rock it.
*Dark circles are purple/blue* and the *yellow/orange pigment of the tumeric cancels it out.*
Plus, if you pull on your under eye area by washing it off too frequently/roughly with wash clothes, makeup wipes, remover pads, etc, it can irritate the gentle thin skin of that area and just aggravate your dark circles… be careful!
Lol..I did a tumeric mask before and looked like an oompa loompa for 2 days...dont use to much ladies
u shul use less tumeric...
ompa lompa boompadee bomp
Lea Lee - healthyteame try makeup wipes right after rinsing
LMFAOOOOO
What a fab idea! I have had dark circles under my eyes since I was just a kid...can't wait to try this. Thanks for keeping it simple!
I'm worried about using turmeric because I have literal Lilly White skin. I don't want to be walking around looking like Donald Trump all day.
Edit: Thank you to everyone for the kind advice.
Jess Jess LMAO, try using rosewater and cotton pads to take the stain off, or any makeup toner. I usually just use my face wash (clean and clear morning burst or some shit) and massage it where I put the mask, it works for me and takes the stain off
Do not try this stains your fingers everything the buttermilk feels refreshing but pass on the tumeric
This isnt a good beauty hack for white people. Works best on people of color.
You try cucmber and baking soda.
😂
Lol or like James Charles when he has his foundation on
I really applaud her use of natural ingredients in her beauty recipes! It is evident by her healthy hair and skin glow! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
You call this dark circles? Mine look like black holes compared to this!
FACTSSS😭🤚🏼
😂
Samee
Proof the eye mask works lol
If your wondering in case you don't have buttermilk then you can make an easy alternative which consists of a little bit of milk mixed with some lemon juice and let that sit for 5 - 10 minutes until your milk gets a little thick and curdled and then you have homemade buttermilk that works just as well as the original pre packaged.....
Thank you for this amazing home remedy. It worked within a week for me. My dark circles were really aging. This makes such a difference. I use the remaining butter milk to wash my face with as I have a whole carton use up.. Cleopatra style!
I tried it today and thank you - it worked - very well... I put less Turmeric in for the first time to make sure it didn't mark my skin as I was going out tonight but it was great... I'm pretty sure based on your ease at presenting these videos - this is going to be a good springboard into a successful career - thanks again...
Can I just say that I’ve been using this mask for the past 4 days and my dark circles were like sooo dark and this mask has lightened them soooooo much. I’ve tried a lot of things and this is the only thing that worked. I am a lot happier now and I definitely recommend this. I am going to keep using this for another week and then I’ll tell you how it goes ❤️
It’s been a month now and I’ve been using this five times a week. This works if you are consistent with it. However for me it only works to a certain extent but I am happy with my under eye circles now
I just have to tell you how much you have helped me with these wonderful DIY's! My hair is growing so healthy and strong, and my skin has never looked and felt better. Not to mention, I am saving loads of money by using all these natural ingredients. Thank you for everything!

For those looking for Turmeric powder, if you have any Indian stores in your area you can get it there :] I've also seen some regular grocery stores carry it in the spice aisle ( usually in a glass bottle)
hope this helps!
Just use lemon juice or rose water instead of butter milk
You are so blessed to know a lot to help women with natural and affordable beauty regimens and everything related. .. Thank you so much and keep up the good work.
gonna try this now
I just tried this. I'm not sure how well it worked yet, as it's nighttime and I'll be able to tell better in daylight. Thanks for the help and advice, Farah!
it's official: I am addicted to your chanel! i'm going to like this so I can refer to it often and get some buttermilk! thanks!
I am so white that I am practically porcelain and I've used this mask before. Don't worry about staining, a bit of olive oil rubbed into your skin will help take it out, and makeup easily covers what you can't get out. :)
2:15...You are very beautiful! Please, don't ever say that about yourself again!
Traditionally, buttermilk is the liquid that is leftover after churning butter. It's low in fat and contains most of the protein originally in the milk. True buttermilk ferments naturally into a thick, tangy cream.
Im 15, can I use this? I have natural undereye wrinckles and its very annoying that any concealer creases on me, even when I set it with pouder
The same thing happens to me! It's so annoying -.-
I know right! There has to be a solution :'(
***** I know right! It's so annoying
Finally someone that is in a situation just like me. It is horrible. No matter what products I use and how little or how much I use I always get the same result. I inherited dark circles and being a new mommy and not getting enough sleep made it all worse 😭
Anyone at any age can use this because it is all natural... Don't know abt buttermilk but turmeric is an ingredient most India's use to make their skin look awesome... It completely works
Are you crazy?! Your gorgeous! Don't say that you're ugly because you're flawless.
thanks for sharing your secret DIY recipe :p anyway for those who are lazy can just grab the dr-hauschka-contour-eye-balm, it's really really good, ive been using it for a month and my dark circles and wrinkles vanished! (unless i lack of slp then it'll be visible)

Thank you so much! I used it all over my face everyday for a week and my scars have been reduced a lot!! I feel more comfortable with my bare face now - so happy. *As you mentioned, it does stain, but since my skin is fair/yellowish, you wont notice it LOOOL
I did this and i had really bad eye irritations for a week. Even my optometrist told me turmeric is not safe for putting close to the eyes
Same happened to me had sore chapped skin under my eyes for a week:( not good
DaVince-E
You probably have very sensitive skin
I do so much to my face and nothing happens
I hope you find a remedy to make your dark circles go away
I once took some turmeric on my face and then i took it off and my face was like super red, dont do it

Thank you sooooo much for this video. I have watched probably 20 videos on how do get rid of under eye circles and this is the only one that has done any good. :) Love your channel
lol I hate milk forget this shit
MrManuel1329: Bruhhhhh 😂😂😂😂😂😂
MrManuel1329 Same😂😂😂
I use that brush for face masks too! It sucks for foundation lol I make a mask with turmeric and buttermilk powder that I get at Bulk Barn. It works the same and lasts longer. I use rosewater or apple cider vinegar to make a paste. Great video.
Can I use vegan buttermilk?
omg thank you for this!! i have really bad dark circles under my eyes and this is a really inexpensive way to get rid/reduce them.
your eyebrows are so PERFECT
Yoghurt does an excellent job as well! In fact it helps reduced the yellow stain!
do you have a non dairy option?
Feemented cabbage have lactic acid. Ill make some and blend it up and try. Im a little late to answer hehehe but wanted to write it anyways
U can get tumeric from health stores or even indian stores. Its great having it at home as it has many uses. Indians even use it to clean raw fish before cooking fish to get rid of germs, bacteria on meat!!
I want to see your DIY eye cream. When I click on your link, it says it's private
Try checking her Instagram account
For the people complaining about the yellow skin, turmeric stains everyone's skin yellow! It's not permanent, nor harmful! Just make sure you're not going out anywhere right after you use the mask. The yellow color should be gone in about an hour or so. Or like Farah said, you can speed that up with using an oil.
My mom bought Butter milk once and it was expensive so she told me not to drink it. I was thirsty so I opened up the carton and took a big swig of it and puked. It legit tasted and smelled like rotten milk. Is it supposed to be like that or did I literally drink rotten milk?
Why did this comment make me laugh?
I've never tried butter milk. But man now I'm having second thought of buying it. I think you can use any milk. Or almond milk
Your not the only one. I hate butter milk cose it tastes like out of date milk 😂😂😷
My dad used to drink glass of buttermilk everyday yuck lol
Beccah Belle Buttermilk is literally aged milk and is inbetween yogurt and milk, but western brands of it all taste bad tbh. middle east and indian buttermilk tastes amazing because its a staple in our diets
Salams farah! I just wanted to come and say thank you so much dear for all of the videos you do. They are extremely helpful and informative. You are my ABSOLUTE favorite guru! This past week I went to sprouts to get peppermint, grapefruit, and coconut oil on your recommendations :) and tried out the almond/peppermint hair mask yesterday and am LOVING it! Lots of love sweets.

What would be an effective alternative (vegan if possible) to buttermilk?
Edit: I believe (based on science) that (at least drinking) milk/dairy in general is not good for the body. I know little of what it can do topically, but drinking it I disagree with. Otherwise, I do enjoy the video. Thoughts anyone? Open to criticism.
Hi there. Dairy products contain lactic acid, an AHA, which is good for skin turnover. It is a very gentle "exfoliation" (you won't see flakes or anything") and it also helps with discoloration. So if you don't want dairy, there are other natural products that have natural AHA's. Lemon, grapefruit, orange all have AHA's. But I wouldn't use them in a mask around my eyes. They are very tingly and could feasibly dry out the area. Not the results you are going for. Believe it or not, tomato also has a pretty gentle AHA in it. (Use near the seeds.). Pumpkin does too, but again it is tricky and can go too tingly quickly. If you can stomach it, I would probably do a all natural yogurt or kefir even. Fruits are great for some powerful AHA's, but since you would using them near your eyes on more fragile skin, tread softly the first few times. Don't leave it on too long and just be gentle. Sorry for the long string of consciousness reply - I was typing while I was thinking about it. Cheers and good luck!
How do you make buttermilk?
Instructions
Combine the milk and lemon juice. Measure 1 scant cup of milk. ...
Let stand 5 to 10 minutes. Let the mixture stand at room temperature for 5 to 10 minutes. ...
Use the buttermilk. Use this substitute (including curdled bits) as you would buttermilk in your recipe.
JUST found your channel and Im loving it. I just loveee NATURAL DIYs as treatments and yours seem legit. I just have to try some of them soon. Keep them coming pleaseeeee :D Subscribed!
Yes, it worked for me after the first treatment. Thanks for the info!
Hi Farah! You are honestly my favourite youtuber and everything I try out from you always works wonders - so would you please be able to film something to help with strectchmarks??! thankyouu x
Wow, I once saw a video of you and I think I also subscribed, but then, I don't know what went wrong, I couldn't find your page no more, so glad that I found it again now :o
I am so in love with your d.y.i. videos that each product you mention I immediately go out and purchase.
I absolutely LOVE all your DIY's! They are so great, and I have learned a lot from you Farah!! Can you please do more tumeric videos:)
Butter milk you can just make with vinegar and milk to used it and it worked
Yes, it remains the same. Farah has answered this earlier, it's what she recommended if you don't have buttermilk.
Ladies your eyes are very delicate! I’ve noticed since wearing a lot of eye makeup and also rubbing it while taking it off, the darkness under my eyes have worsen. Be gentle with your eyes when taking your makeup off, don’t rub it! And give the concealer a break or wear less concealer. I’ll be giving this tutorial a go so wish me luck!!! I’ll remember to update my results in a few weeks time!
Ok lol so I tried this mask overnight and my dark circles/ pimples have gone a bit worse. Not sure if I should continue this recipe... I’ll continue to give it a go and come back a week later
SCLAMJA wtf
C63AMG Lmao btw I’ve tried everything mostly under the sun to get rid of my dark circles. I took a blood test and turns out I was vitamin A, D and C deficient and also anaemic. That explains the dark pigmentation under my eye. Check ur bloods and do some health research it’s not always hereditary.
If the turmeric stains then you apply a based makeup oil OR anything that's oil, on a soft napkin or towel and it should remove the yellowish stain.
I LOVE all of your videos! I have a list of all the DIY ingredients and can't wait to try them!! Will let you know how it works for me 3
To avoid any waste I would recommend you guys to just make your own little batch of buttermilk instead of buying a whole carton and only having it for a week and having to buy another one.
You can make buttermilk by just adding lemon juice or vinegar to milk and letting sit for a few minutes.
And then you have it you little portion of buttermilk and no waste.
I wanted to buy termeric but wasnt sure if I'd use it alot! I'd love to see all the uses for it ! Love your videos xoxo
been looking for something like this everywhere!!! thank you!
It's thicker than regular milk, and it tastes kind of sour. I cannot drink it unless if I have not had anything to eat, otherwise it makes me sick. I also like to thin it out with water because it's easier for my body to handle it.
I love using turmeric on my body but I'm sooooo pale that i do notice it stains my skin slightly :( especially my hands! I advise people who are also very pale to wear rubber gloves so it doesn't make your hands yellow!! :) x
I've never used turmeric where can you get it? What else is it good for!!! I love your videos!
I LOVE LOVE ALL of ur all natural DIY's!! LOVE!! Can u PLEEEEAAAASE do one for acne scars?
Thank you so much for this video. Very informative.
I'm 12! And have fine lines because I touch my eyes a lot Dx. & the under eye skin is delicate
Farah, can you do a weight loss video? You mentioned in a previous video that you used green tea and other methods and you look AMAZING (as always)
Oh my gosh thank you su much!! I have the same skintone as you and my undereye circles are so dark! So thank you, thank you, thank you! Xx
Hi Farah, first and foremost
I absolutely love ur videos! Keep up the good work!
Second, isn't kasturi turmeric the turmeric to use for skincare ????
how would drinking something get rid of wrinkles? Wrinkles are caused by a loss of collagen which results in a loss of firmness or pulling and stretching the skin for a prolonged period of time. Milk is mosturizing and I think can help in sunburns..but it's nothing that other moisturizes aren't capable of. If you can take retinoids (vitamin A) I recommend that and ceramides to really help make your skin plumper. Moisturizing your skin will make your wrinkles less noticiable although it's just temporary relief.
I wish you would play the Indian music in the background during all of your skin tutorials; that's what attracted me the first video I saw of yours "How to Get Clear Skin, Remove Acne". The music was so relaxing.
LOVE LOVE LOVE U FARAH!!!!!
Tried it and will continue to do this. Thanks Hun! Only thing is that buttermilk tastes absolutely disgusting to me! It has a bitter/vinegar like kick to it. Maybe I'll make some biscuits instead. Lol
Yay thank you beautiful! I've always had dark circle concerns I will most definitely try this.
Love these dark circle tips Farah! xo-Jane
before u starting applying this did you have dark circles or wrinkles? how long did it take for u to notice lighter under eyes and less wrinkles? Thank you =]
Can you do a nighttime video routine/skin care? :)
Thumbs up people so she can see
The lactic acid in milk can definitely lighten the skin, exfoliate it and regenerate new skin cells :)
Beautiful Healthy Mom do you recommend using milk for wrinkles on face? You mentioned makes new skin cells..All sudden I woke up with wrinkles mostly on my right side of my face-my sleepi ng side. but i think it originally happened since i got a facial skin peel on my face. and was told to ice face afterwards well i think the ice pulled the wrinkles out. Could that be possible Anyone know? Im so depressed about it. Thank you
How often would you recommend doing this under eye mask?
I love her, she is the best!
Hi , love your videos, i just started to use your hair mask with onion, can't wait for results.
Can you please repost the link to your DIY EYE CREAM, because I can't find it anywhere?
Thank You ☺️
