The TouchKEY+ Multisensory Station of WEART, provides a unique solution for visually impaired and blind visitors to engage with artworks, through a digital and tactilely augmented experience. Starting from a digital replica of the artwork, users can feel shapes, textures and thermal sensations associated with selected elements of the artwork provided by TouchKEY+ haptic devices. This sensory feedback is enhanced with audio descriptions that activate as users explore, offering dynamic and incremental views of the scenes. The ability to zoom in on specific artwork parts without scale restrictions helps users gain a deeper understanding of the compositions and create detailed mental maps.
