Exciting final. Gwen Torrence gets the sprint win after being a finalist, then a medalist, during the previous 8 years of sprint championships. Could have won gold at 1993 400m, just off gold in 100m at Stuttgart getting bronze, probably silver at 400 in 92. Legend

Yes she was... Then she would go on to cheat by cutting the track by 2 metres in the 200m final.
Then the following year before the '96 Olympics, would reignite doping accusations against her competitors... Real class act Torrence was!

Worst start Ive ever seen for Privalova; she lost 0.1s on Torrence based on reaction time, and with a normal start would have likely had the lead all the way to about 90m, it would have been a hard fought win for Gwen, but also could have pushed her to a better time.
