Just found your channel last week and as I’ve said in the comments on other videos I follow the Lichfield canal restoration and I very much enjoy your updates about the project. The maps and drone shots give it so much flair and overview of the project. It is really easy to follow the progress being made through your videos. Thank you!
Thanks for this incredible update…. I’ve been living along the Ashby Canal, and have been keen to see that back in water from Snarestone to Moira. I am now at Barton Under Needwood and have turned my eye from that and have recently started catching up with what’s happening at Litchfield. Your videos are wonderful, and an historical document for the likes of myself, living as I do on the canals.
That was a great update and very informative overview of what looks like a very well managed and resourced project. Hopefully, it will not be too long before the Canal is fully navigable. Thank you.
A superior review on the progress on the rebuilding. Hopefully I’ll be around when it is completed. Enjoy the week ahead, and see you on the next Steve. Cheers mate! 🇬🇧🙂👍🇺🇸
The progress is absolutely remarkable this year seemingly more so. Im excited for them I don’t live anywhere near the area. Thanks for all your videos and have a great Christmas.
Hopefully it continues into next year! I’m unsure what the next plans are for Darnford moors as they need persimmon to go either way now I think. Merry Christmas to you too and thanks for watching
People say wind-ing hole (as in the wind blows). Correct pronunciation is “Wynding hole” as in winding the handle. A similar phrase is used when a predator eats something almost too big. “Oh look he’s winding that down”
On every canal restoration and every working canal I’ve ever been/worked on I’ve never heard it pronounced as you suggest. It’s always been a wind ing hole as far as I’ve heard
@@andrewross7642 they will but that’s years in the future, once the western end is done I’m maybe 5-10 years they will turn to the eastern end, which is an easier task. The centre including the tunnel is in phase 3
Its just "work" why does "hard" have to come into it? its not, machinery does the work, goofballs lean on shovels, watch the vid on how J22 was done on the M62 built where I live in W Yorks.... in 1966,..... THAT was hard work....and the project Manager for it all was 28 years old, snowflakes that age today cant even get out of bed in a hurry, "hard work" hilarious.. Worked the Canals since 1973 when I was 14.
Wow what an overreaction! Take a breath and don’t let things get to you so much. I work in a physical job but I wouldn’t ever tell someone that’s spent all day at work doing something less physical that their job is worthless. You really need to chill out.
@@CourtAboveTheCut I dug out disused Canals in 1976 mate when I was I was 15, no fancy machines...just shovels and a barrow, ...strangely enough, it was never referred too as "hard" 🤣 and it got done in good time because the workforce didnt spend all day staring into a mind controlling phone like todays "workers" or tapping for an "app" for a next move., should be done by 2035 hopefully.....you,.... err, the machine really needs to "dig faster"🤣 /

One day I’ll come over and see your canals!
Wonderful overview. I’ve been following the progress for years and it’s so nice to see everything coming together. Thanks
It’s brilliant isn’t it, this time next year it’ll be finished at the rate they are going 😂
