Takbeer Tashreeq - Eid Takbeer by Maulana Hafiz Ahmed Desai

It is a proclamation of the greatness of Allah and is recited after every obligatory prayer during the first ten days of the month of Dhul Hijjah, which is the month of pilgrimage to Makkah. The phrase is "Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La ilaha illa Allah, Wallahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Wa lillahi al-hamd" and it is translated as "Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, there is no deity except Allah, Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, and to Allah belongs all praise". It is a way for us Muslims to express our gratitude and devotion to Allah during this special time of the year.
