He's so like my husband 😂! So polite but truthful. Maybe this will cheer him up. It's called the Cuppa Cuppa Cuppa cake. Cup of fruit cocktail with the juice; cup of sugar; cup of flour. Mix together ; put it in a cake dish or pan ( not too small or big). Bake in the oven at 350 until gold and bubbly. Then pair it with vanilla ice cream to cut the sweetness.

He should try some "chicken-fried steak" with mashed potatoes & [white] gravy (same as what's on biscuits & gravy), and a bit of veggies (steamed or sauteed asparagus, green beans, and/or broccoli), and maybe a dinner roll. Kind of a "diner dinner" here in America. & the white gravy goes over **both** the mashed potatoes and the chicken-fried steak. Works nicely on both. We Americans love our white "country-style" gravy with a bit of black pepper, maybe some herbs & spices in it, and keep tryna' introduce it to Brits, who all seem to be more used to brown "meat gravy" or whatnot, which is also lovely, don't get me wrong. But, if you've never had white gravy, you're missing out! It's lovely on sliced turkey, or on mashed potatoes or CFS (Chicken-fried steak) or biscuits & gravy. Both gravies definitely have their places & uses. Would be a shame to miss out on fully half the gravies by only having the brown but never the white. ^_^ Often at dinner we'll make both types and people can pick which they want, or use both, or use some on one thing, and the other on the other.
