Excellent Video!! Thanks a lot. lol .... I'm already G9 owner. but I didn't know how to use fluency. This video really helpful. I searched youtube about g9 setting. and watched it. But This is the Best!!
When I bought my G9, I was bewildered by the multitude of options. Often I would find an option turned on or off and searching the menus to find the adjustment took such a long time. I found I was just using a very simple setup and not taking advantage of the versatility of this camera. The best tip from this video was using the personal customisable menu. An example is that I use focus peaking but sometimes want to quickly turn it off for a clearer view of my composition and colours. So many thanks for this very useful tutorial. I have subscribed.
Hi Mike, That's so great to hear, thanks. I am working on a more in depth video of front button (shutter focus) vs back button focus and will upload that in the next day or two. 🙏🏼
Totally agree with you that that AF near/far is a total game changer. I love it. I don't have this on my GX9 and I see the difference when I have a difficult focusing situation.
@@AperturetoZoom My G9 does not appear to have that function. Firmware 4.7. This is, I can select ON-Near and ON-FAR from the main menu, but they do not appear as options to be allocated to a Function Button.
why does my automatic switch off? switching display, screen on lumix g9? after a while, only the display switches without me interfering with the lumix. Tanks
Very helpful thanks. Regarding Constant Preview: When I'm in manual mode and this feature is enabled my EVF goes really laggy and makes even the slowest pan impossible. Any ideas? Thanks again for the good information.
Hi Iain, I had a quick look and the only thing I can find is, to move the mode dial to video, then go to the menu where Constant preview is and select live view boost which is just below the constant preview and play around with those. Because you are panning, I presume you were doing video hence that's the setting the mode dial should be in. Live view boost is unavailable in M mode because we typically don't need it when taking photos. Hope that helps, thanks for the kind comment 🙏🏽
Thanks for this. So for static objects, let's say a stationary bird. Can you take your finger off the BBF button once framed and happy with the shot and then press the shutter button, or do you always need to keep the BBF pressed whilst shooting in any scenario?
Also while the object may be static, you should also not move your camera or yourself after removing your finger off the BBF button….else focus will be lost because you/your camera has moved.

Encore, merci pour les éclairages des réglages de bases🙏

Hi Laurent, it’s a great feature perfect for those front buttons, I plan to make a short video demonstration of it soon

I believe Constant Preview only works in *Manual* mode as well
I'm not sure about that, I'll look into it. I can see it not working in Intelligent Auto but it should work in Aperture/SS/P Modes, surely?
The audio volume is quite low.
help, help, help. how to remove screen settings lumix g9?

Provided it’s stationary you can take your finger off, frame/compose and take the shot

Sorry, but I can barely hear you.
please consider normalising the audio level in this video
