    Great video! Thanks a lot
One quick question, for rinsing out the solution, do you run clean water before putting the filter back? And do you run a full water tank?

This was a great video. I just purchased the Sage Barista Express, Gen 1 that is 1 year old and not sure what maintenance etc has been done to it, so this looks like the beginning. I will probably go ahead and replace the group head seal. Is there anything else you could recommend replacing/ cleaning when I get the machine. Also, you didn't mention whether to remove the filter before cleaning or leave it in and then replace with a new one. Thanks.

Thanks for your comment! Aside the group head seal I would potentially replace the steam wand gasket but only if it’s leaking. I would descale the machine and call it a day 😎 As for the filter, I would remove it prior to cleaning, and replace with a new one after cleaning. Hope that helps (: if you have any other questions feel free to reach out! - info@crankshaftroasters.com

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking about that little oring as well, but will wait to see if that needs it. I did order the group head seal and will change that during the deep clean.

How is this descaling process different than factory recommended cleaning method where you put a cleaning tablet on a cleaning disk inside the filter basket?

Thanks for the comment! The cleaning tablet in the filter basket only partially cleans the group head and filter basket/portafilter when ran thru - this method cleans all the internals of the boiler - scale buildup from hard water / mineral deposits etc 👍🏻
