It used to be different when it was in Lumpkin, Georgia.

Yeah, it was awesome when it was in lumpkin. You got to see people doing all of the jobs, amazing scratch biscuits and butter churned on site. I was really hopeful when westville was moved to columbus, but its been disappointing. I'm shocked they moved westville and promptly cut out the interactions people visit to dee

Museum is closed due to COVID-19. Grand Opening October 20, 2018! What is the South? As you walk the streets of Historic Westville you will begin to understand it is more than a region, a culture and a lifestyle. Through the stories of the people who lived and worked in our buildings, you will gain a new understanding of the diversity of the southern experience, and learn how people's lives intersected to create this complex and captivating place we call the South. Helping us present an authentic and immersive experience, we have a collection of 30 pre-Civil War historic structures, the largest assemblage of handmade Georgia furniture anywhere, and more than 5,000 objects from the lives of Georgians.
