So basically we get penalized for filing early. And have to wait up to 60 days from the date we receive our Cp05 letter. But we are encouraged by the IRS to file early I just don’t get it.
File early meaning earlier than April 15th. But not as soon as they open up between January 5th -29th. Because they do HUB testing, testing out the new software they update every year. If you file in January you’re gonna get flagged by the system with codes 570/971 because most businesses have to have wages sent out by January 31st. Your 60 day review might not be the full 60 days. A congressman or tax ad might can assist with this matter. If not just have to wait.

I filed the last week of January got my state within a week but federal still says processing I do claim dependence. I called them on Friday got through to a live person and they said this year for people that are claiming dependence. It’s taking 10 weeks from the day that you filed to be verified and processed.
Update: I'm still waiting, i filed and accepted on 2/26. WMR is still stuck on RETURN ACCEPTED. my transcript still says N/A. Here is what I'm reading from other forums. People are stating that they are getting their refunds, and WMR and Transcripts still have not been updated. I don't know how true this is.
OK, I've been watching because we have the same story as a lot of people. Filed Jan. 30th, 570 for 3/04 971 for 3/11. Got a CP05 letter. BUT my friend is having the same problem and he got ahold of someone at the IRS office. They set his date for 4/11 because the rep said 10 weeks from file date. That would mean April 9th for us. I filled Jan 24 my taxes were accepted that evening. Did not get my fed refund in the 21 days, but I got my state sooner. I have a processing date of March 18, 2024 with a 570 code for the same date of March 18, 2024, I am on cycle 05 and there have been no updates for my transcript. I called today and the representative told me there is nothing that is needed from me and that the IRS just needed additional time to process. Ok, so I filed on Feb 12th, after 30 days there was no progress on it. Called them. And they they said it looks like I needed to verify my ID. A week later I got my verification letter, went online and successfully verified my ID, Which was on March 14th. Once your ID is verified what is the time table of which process will resume?

Couldn't file until 2/14 due to EV tax credit. Got a 570 then 971 code shortly after. No movement sense then.
