A staple of every FPS set in a time from the 50s to the far future. Interesting to see many different game developers interpretation of an AK-47/AKM. Just about none of them perfectly replicate any specific variant of the AK, be it the type 1-3 47s or various AKMs The most accurate models I saw are from Insurgency: Sandworm and RS2 Vietnam. COD MW 2019 has a well detailed and animated model, but is a bit off when compared to the real thing. Also having played Insurgency and MW, Insurgency has the most "realistic" feel out of the two.
The AK used in Tarkov's clip is just a mix of different AK parts. Since it's set at ~2030, there are no original AK-47s but rather AKMs (along with a dozen other variants of different calibers etc.) and those are truly well modeled.
I disagree, mw set the standard for reload animations in gaming. Also the guy who worked on the sandstorm animations is working on the mw2 animations along with the team from 19

The Tarkov one is about as accurate as it can get, the only thing is you have the option to change out a lot of parts including the handguards, dust covers, etc etc. So maybe the one in the video doesn't look exactly like you expect, but only because it's been modified. The base guns in the game are as accurate as possible.
@@yonsetv5223 I really like how MW 2019 did set the standard for cool tactical reloads in FPS games. They did a good job on many of the guns. Having said that I'd say half of the animations are either extremely difficult or impossible to replicate in real life, unless you're an experienced combat operator. I do own a Yugo AKM and can not in any way hold two AK mags staggered in one hand, let alone actuate the mag release and swap them out. I'm sure if I had bigger hands and better coordination it could be pulled off with some practice. Even the trick of using the fresh mag to knock out the empty one is very hard to pull off, more so if using Yugo pattern mags with the pseudo bolt hold open. But it's definitely more in the verge of impossible which is fine as it suits the game and still looks cool.
That Goldeneye 007 AK reload at 3:16 definitely just hit me hard as someone that loves looking at reloads, its not common you see AKs get reloaded like that.
Iraqi AK reloads are badass. 007 basically invented different reloads for empty and tactical. Loves that game

Actualy they are the most important reload to know, fun fact, often with old ak's the mag (given its age, non intended version for the specific type of gun, etc) can not fit well, so the spring will push the bullet up and prevent the bolt from being pulled back, thus pulling it back FIRST is nessesary to reload it
but you probably meant the video, as for that i do think having a ak reload that is not "mag toss with another mag" is wellcome, as iconic as the former is
I hate the fact that this is also in Hunt Down The Freeman though. The one AK in the game has Mitchell reloading the Iraqi way.
The gun that you can drench in mud and can still shoot at least one mag, jamms and then still usable after you clean the insides instead of replacing any parts

You can just remove the dust cover and start washing the mud out quite easily. The mud with the pebbles will be more problematic tho, but yeah a simple wash is enough. Most piston guns can shoot in water so using water to wash out mud probably shouldn’t affect reliability by much if at all.

Looks like no one cares about Black so here's a comment. Underrated game. Great animations. Great gun sounds. If only the developers modeled the weapons right!! Amazing game. A technical marvel for the PS2 hardware.
In Brazil Black is one of the most loved games on the Ps2
Black was the first shooter game I played and it was good wish they would have continued it
iirc a lot of the guns were intentionally changed to make more parts visible, like putting the charging handle on the left instead of the right for the AK and using spiced up movie sounds. The MP5 in Black is sampled from the MP5 in Die Hard, for example.
So like Cold Winter. It is the same level with Black. Also a technical marvel for the PS2 hardware
Yeah, Black was intentionally made to avoid realism as much as possible, much like Burnout, another game by Criterion.

While I haven't ever played squad, I love how your player character looks at the mag and mag port to make sure it has ammo and it will sit right. I'm a sucker for games like that and Sandstorm

Idk why but at 3:15 this one is the best. For a video game developer to actually know the Iraqi AK reload other than the traditional AK reload is just amazing. Yes, most of the AKs yall see why be used with the traditional reload. But in the ME the AKs were different and had a hard time to chamber a round. That’s why they have to hold the chargin handle back then continue with the reload. Kalashnikov Groups actually acknowledged this too when they start workin with the Iraqis
So because its a different way of reloading the quality of the animation doesn’t matter…
Maybe you could at least give the traditional stuff a chance.

I hate that sound. In CS, everyone uses this gun, the sound of the shot is so loud that it can be heard just from everywhere, and besides, it is so cardboard that it just creaks in the ears. After this game, I wholeheartedly hated this weapon in any game.

Did you know all weapons have unique animations in Sandstorm when you reload while using a bipod and that some also have a different anim when reloading with a foregrip?

For those who don't know, the AK safety prevents a round from being chambered when selector lever is raised in the safe position interfering with the charging handle's travel distance. Most games get this right, and I love seeing if an AK's selector lever matches how it is depicted in the game. The most common firing mode will be in automatic or the first firing position noted by an 'AB' marking meaning automatic, or avtomat (latin alphabet phonetic spelling of ABTOMAT). Obligatory Iraqi reload badassery at 3:16.

Roblox: Arsenal, if I recall correctly, has the same SFX, mixed obviously, of the AK-47 that belongs to "BLACK", featured in this video and the one from "Brothers In Arms Road To Hill 30". The said belongs to the STG44, but it is hard to know for sure. It could be even the FG42, both of which are submachine guns. These two last SFXs get ported to the sequel, which was "BIA: Earned In Blood". These were German-sided weapons used in the 2nd WW.
