The scene where he's saying "let me die" repeatedly reminds me of last July, 2021. My friend stated this same thing on many occasions so when he passed away in my home, in my recliner, while I slept on top of my bed (studio apartment, watching movies, he's drinking and using those little blue pills tainted with fentanyl) I suppose he got what he wanted. I was only five feet away. I slept through his death. I curse him daily. Letting go is so hard (we were not intimate friends, he was and I am straight) and there are times when I could've been a much better friend but that's not longer possible. "Just let me die" is quite impossible if you care about that person at all.
