    Aesthetically, one of the most beautiful browsers I've ever seen. Signed up for the beta. Arc has some of the features that have made me a huge fan of Edge on macOS and Windows. For example, I actually love vertical tabs/tab groups and will never go back to tabs on top. Edge also has auto-sleeping tabs, collections (similar to Arc Spaces), ability to markup and share web pages, etc. I've barely touched Chrome and Firefox in a long time and only occasionally switch over to Safari. It would take a lot to drag me away from Edge, but I'm always willing to take a peek at something new and promising.

      There's always room for more browsers, the more competition the better. Having said that, the particular features you seem so excited about have been present in all major browsers for over a decade now - the presenter even mentions this several times throughout the video. Check out your current browser's documentation, you'll be surprised what's already possible today.

    Spaces looks very interesting if you are going to research something. Firefox used to have similar addon - TreeStyleTab or something like this. This one is more polished. If there is built-in ad-blocker and tracker remover this could eventually be a replacement.
    Sync for spaces, notes, easels, boosts, tabs and favorites will be great. It is really nice to see new browser which does not follow the standard approach.
    Perhaps built-in translator will boost the productivity.

    I dislike these modern trends where almost everyone cares only of how their browser looks or how transparent it is. I just stick to chrome for the most part cause it is the most performant, efficient and other things. sure it sometimes freezes of how many tabs I have open (3K+), but it still is holding on and Edge literally freezes windows explorer whenever I close it with more than 1K tabs open, so that's that.

    • @MaxTsyba
      @MaxTsyba 2 роки тому +2

      Basically Arc browser in current state encourages users to split tabs between spaces, and pin/bookmark only important tabs (which can be also organized in folders). So basically they combined bookmarks system with pinned tabs concept, and all unpinned tabs get autoclosed after a period of inactivity (12 hours by default). I believe that is the main concept on how they want to "solve" tabs clutter.

      @@zainmushtaq4347 It's not too much different from what other browsers offer - just imagine that your regular browser will close any tab within 12 hours unless you bookmark or pin it. It's just that in Arc browser these actions are the same, and I wonder how cluttered sidebar will become when you pin a few dozens of tabs there - not everyone has time and wish to catalogize them in folders manually all the time, and even folders will still be aways visible on the tab bar.

Think about how for the web vertical space is much more valuable than horizontal space, a list of tabs is easier to use than tabs on the top of the screen when you have 10+ tabs open, spaces being used for grouping instead of windows. For those who are a gestures fan, Arc is a heaven. You can navigate through pages, spaces, library, and pretty much everywhere with just a two finger swipe gesture, and it transitions really smooth and beautiful. This is a masterpiece of design and code.

    Chromium-based, we need a browser that's based on itself, one that can work on 10 years old hardware

      @@upthinker2336 Firefox only works slightly faster, other lightweight alternatives have either security issues or can't display videos correctly. The browser that can solve all those problems will be huge

    Where to download it from? On the linked page there's no download link, just a Waitlist. Entering my email, it asks the question whether I already use Arc on my Mac but how could I use it if I can't download it? Is it about a beta test phase? I lost the thread.

    Anything that looks and feels different from the industry standard interface layout gets an automatic NO from me.
    It's just a waste of time to familiarize to the new UI while trying to use most of these features that i probably won't even touch.

    I pretty much think the same way as you do about the tabs on top, but the sidebar in Arc is not as disturbing I thought it would be! Access to the beta is super slow though 😅 Nice video 👍

    First he says that Vivaldi is the best now Arch. Trust me man, I’ve said those things before and went against myself after that. Does this man really want us to have a better computer or just can’t choose what to stay on?

    designers need to stop changing up already intuitive interfaces to create the illusion of innovation. this is harder to use than chrome or safari. there is no point.
