Thank you so much for this message. I'm the kind of person that is heavily empathetic and when I see problems happening in the world, I feel guilty if I'm not doing something at all times to help. But I can't do that; no one can. I need time to relax and laugh and smile, but I feel like, if other people out there are unhappy, then I don't deserve to be happy. So thank you for reminding me that I'm just one person, my box can't hold everything at once; and that's okay.

kind of a random question, but that I have wondered about these things for a long time:
1. what exactly is the holy spirit?
2. what do Christians believe was the "state of divinity" before Christ was born? like, today God is made up of the Father, the Son, and the holy spirit, but what was the "situation" before the birth of Christ?

At this time Jesus was speaking with his Disciples before he was soon to be crucified for men.
Jesus promised another helper in the book of John
John Chapter 14 verse 15 through 18 reads:
15 If you love Me, you will keep my commandments.
16 And I will pray to my Father, and He will give to you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever-
17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it is neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and and will be in you.
18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. ( New King James Version)
Note: the Spirit of truth is another name for the Holy Spirit
John Chapter 14 verse 26 says:
26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I have said to you.
The Holy Spirit is the Helper Jesus Christ was speaking of.
John Chapter 16 verse 5 through 15
The Works Of The Holy Spirit
5 But now I go away to Him who sent Me, and none of you asks Me, Where are you going?
6 But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart.
7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send him to you.
Note: it is to our advantage that we have the Holy Spirit because it is easier access to God, for example many people would have to go to a prophet or a person that God would chose to be his speaker. Another example: before the Holy Spirit people use to have to make sin offerings to ask God for forgiveness,
but now with the Holy Spirit we can just bow down on our knees and asks for forgiveness. :)
8 And when He has come, he will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgement:
9 of sin, because they do not believe in Me;
10 of righteousness, because I go to My Father and see you no more;
11 of judgement; because the ruler of this world is judged.
12 I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.
13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth come, He will guide you into the truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; ( note: whatever he hears from God he will speak.) and He will tell you things to come.
14 He will glorify Me, for He will take what is Mine and declare it to you.
15 All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take what of Mine and declare it to you.
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God
The Holy Spirit is a friend who is with you all the time, correcting you when your in error, leading you were the Lord what's you to be and warning you of the traps the devil has lad out.
Keep studying the Lords words I hoped this help a bit I found these scriptures in the New King James Version bible.

When I saw your questions I went back to find some scriptures that will hopefully help you understand: )
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God
John 1:2 He was in the beginning with God.
John 1:3 All things were made through
Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
In John 1:2-3 He and Him in these scriptures are referring to Jesus Christ
John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
Revelation 19:11-16
11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse.
And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and make war.
12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one had knew except Himself.
13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word Of GOD.
14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses.

The state of God before the birth of Christ, has always been the same
Before Jesus Christ was born in the flesh God was known as: Almighty, Lord of host, Heavenly Father, King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Mighty God, Everlasting God.
After Jesus Christ was born God
is still known as: Almighty ,Lord of host, Heavenly Father, King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Mighty God, Everlasting God.
If that's what you meant by that.
And No it was not only the Father.
The Father, Son, and the holy ghost was existing before God had sent Jesus to be born in the flesh it tells us in the Bible multiple times in different ways how The Father the Son and the Holy Ghost is one, it even explain why Jesus had to be born in the flesh.

My favorite bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
This verse is very special to me for personal reasons and I now feel like I'm closer to God after experiencing what I have experienced and after watching this video I just wanted to share this with someone who might need it or just anyone in general who might find this good to know.
