Great tips! Love love love thrift/antique shopping!!! When I was pregnant with my twins, I found an antique door chest for their shabby chic nursery. I painted it and added embellishments and it was just perfect! 🌸
I am so much like you, I love 💘 ❤ to go to a AWESOME flea market or yard sale or garage sale and find thing's to decorate my house 🏠, and if I can find it a little cheaper at one of those places then at a store, I get so excited 😁 😀 😊. And now that it's getting warmer weather, and hopefully this COVID is hopefully not too bad, I can get out and find what I am looking for. I have went to a couple of places and found some great item's. But I really love ❤ how you have decorated your house 🏠, you have such a AWESOME home. Great video.

I love and collect white ironstone pieces, old medicine bottles, and Fenton hobnail pieces. I love the old pitcher with bowl that were used to wash back in the old days.
$5 for a scale?! You got the better one 👍 I like that you are mixing up your style. My mother in law has influenced mine through the years- we’ve always shopped at antique stores, flea markets. I have and use mason jars for my dry goods in my kitchen. Old scales, copper tea kettles..typewriter on my bookshelf. And an old phone. You mentioned old books- I collect Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew Books. I would say my style in kitchen is industrial farmhouse the rest of the house mixed with antiques. Love that you’re mixing it up!❤️

My vote would go with the scale. They are harder to find. I have one. I also have this huge hunkin one that was used in an old market at meat counter.

I love wooden spoons and rolling pins used as decorations. Especially little ones so cute. Have you ever heard of amy fritz's she uses them to decorate on her UA-cam channel sometimes.
I find antique books expensive as well. This past year I decided to check market place and scored about 20 books for $25. Check market place.., you never know. I loved this video! Thank you sharing. I’m on a kick this year with antiques, our thrift stores aren’t good, it’s either junk or they mark up or auction off the “good” finds. Once we are out of yet another lockdown I hope to head to some larger antique shops in my area. 🤞🏼

I agree I love to incorporate some old pieces in my decor / furniture. Just not too much (I bought an vintage stool to put next to my bathtub and every time I walk into my bathroom I just love that stool - had it for a long time and still love it. ) like your tips! Difficult to pick bot of you did well as they are such different items .... I might need to go with the scale .... we watch flea market flip and we take turns guessing which team will be the winning team (before they take the items for sell) and keep score 😂😂... I love that sugar mold - great idea.

My vote is for the scale. I like square face on it. I love thrifting and flea marketing! My favorite antique that I have found and purchased is an old school chalkboard and stand that has scrolling paper at the top with cool graphics, pictures and lessons on it for children. My favorite flea marketed piece is and old dresser from the 1970s. It had the look of several small drawers. I painted it a robin egg blue color with warn and distressed finish. I added brass looking card catalog file hardware to each drawer to give it an old seed cabinet look. I use it in my living room to set my TV on. Its great storage for DVDs and my kids video games.
So much fun! I really enjoy thrifting and also think that new and older items bring that homey, warm feeling to your home. Your scale is my pick for the best deal but I love old chairs too. There's a lot you can do with them to cozy up your home 🏡

Oh my goodness everything you listed you are looking for I found at our trades days in Canton Texas. I went yesterday and bought a large dough bowl for $15 bigger ones were $20. The same vendor had the chippy corbels. Canton isn’t too far from Waco.

I believe you’re from Illinois! As am I! There a little shop in Green Valley that had a HUGE dough bowl the last time I was there. They are called Past Times Antiques. Maybe if you call they will be able to send you pictures (they have my mom) and measurements to see if it’s what you are wanting if they still have it!

I'm wondering if you like doing projects with books. I've seen them painted with watered down paint and the pages tea or coffee stained. They look so pretty with a strip of old lace tied around a stack or glued down the spine. Any inexpensive thrift store books would work.
