Bar at back on the north wall, behind stairs. 1979, I was there and 1980, as well as 1978. I remember seeing Mick Pealing perform there a couple of times., Jo Jo Zep (Sorrows now), Mondo Rock, and heaps of others. Good night and stayed open till late. Got packed, nice crowd and heaps of music there. McKenzies Theory played down stairs one night. Skyhooks there too. Aus Crawl often. Angels, Sports, Sherbert. INXS, Chisel, Sunnyboys. You could wander around upstairs and downstairs and music was always playing. Seats downstairs, and some tables to the left of stage along the wall, but must people liked to stand close where the band played. Great memories of the coolest Rock venue in Melbourne.Then they opened a couple Rock venues in St Kilda, on Esplanade' old St Moritz, Bananas, Crystal Ballroom Fitzroy st. Martinis good spot Carlton.Sth Melb .
