One thing about the grenade, I just love using it for the cool toss animation when I got a rifle out. Especially if I want to push an enemy out of a corner or keep them at bay, or just blow a car full of enemies up. Other than that, I prefer the grenade launcher for quick havoc.

Fun fact: when blind firing the grenade launcher becomes semi-auto, firing nearly as fast as you can pull the trigger
