    You just described my little yankee doodle almost exactly... I'm not allergic but he is an absolute mop! I could bathe him every week. We live in SW Michigan and he loves the beach. My van is a sandy mess. He goes to work with me, cheerfully greets my clients then falls asleep. After work, he wants to party! He not only loves to retrieve but will toss his toys around if I'm not engaged. He actually tossed a toy into my coffee cup one morning when I was doing a puzzle, trying to ignore his invitations to play. When people ask what breed he is, I tell them he's a Tosser

    Finally some clear and honest advice about how these dogs effect allergies from someone with experience with so many different dogs! Really valuable, and as an allergy sufferers looking to get a dog, you've helped me go for it!
    In the UK, Cockapoos are far more common than Goldendoodles. Can you talk about the difference in personality / temperament / activity level, between the two? Cheers

    What a cool video !
    ''My daughter's gonna come get this dog and y take her up to her room and dress her up in a dollhouse '' LOL
    I love Julep confidence!
    10:45: And that good looking grey dog: look at his tail going around and round, like an helicopter ahahah !
    Was that mister Noname ? That can't be him !
    He got soooo big and strong ! Perfect shape, and he has an amazing shiny coat too !
    My dog and I have adventures everyday! What a great team we make, always a fun time.
    Wherever we go I look for different textures: big stones, fences, different dog parks, mountains trails, stairs, little pound with fish, kayak, new buildings, parks and forest with animals, bridges, revolving doors or shopping center !
    Everything is exciting for him to discover and very convenient for me since, he is adapting so easily to all kind of situations therefore, I can bring him everywhere!
    And, let me tell you, Oh he sure sleeps like a charm at night and has no anxiety if left alone or have any kind of strange behaviours, what so ever ;-)
    Thank you for the new ideas regarding adventures in the fields with random logs Stonnie!
    Please make more videos like this one !
    How about making a video Mister Noname and you, going in the city ?
    A special treat for the people who lives surrounded by concrete all year long and dont know where to start ;-)
    Keep up the good work Stonnie!
    I Love your videos very much ! :-)

    Hi Stonnie,
    I wrote in the comments section about Boxer dogs and my dad not long back (June). I’m a Psychologist and as I watch your videos I notice you use theories deeply embedded in Psychology such as, the cognitive map you refer to. I find your videos fascinating but can I just ask ... do you have a psychology background?
    Thank you , keep up the great work! We love these videos. And we are “learning by doing” 😆

    Stonnie, had to put our dog to sleep last may ( 11 year old goldendoodle). We are getting a Australian Labradoodle puppy (8 weeks) and are looking forward to training this dog. My golden didn't have much chance to swim, this dog will because we are installing a big pool. I'm loving your videos. I'm 74 and plan on using this dog to keep active, training and swimming. I hope to be fun for this dog. We also camp. I'll do a video and send it to you. Jim

    Great video,
    Could you share your thoughts on Labradoodles and their uses?
    I have an 8 month old male that is a great energetic dog but is having trouble swimming for some reason and peeing in his cage when left. Any thoughts? I want to help him improve swimming

      For the puppies it’s just their daily food most of the time which he has said in a few videos. But in this video he’s using a all natural meat jerky that’s local I’m assuming.

    My Goldendoodle is 4 months old and he won’t stop jumping in people!! I have no idea what to do any advice from commenters helps!!

    • @SmileyKy
      @SmileyKy 5 років тому

      That’s just puppies in general. My dog who is now 8 months old has just now started to understand that jumping is not okay. It involved so much consistency with not letting him jump on anyone- not even me. When people come over I put him into “place” with a leash on. He has to wait for permission to leave “place” which is a raised dog bed. He can watch them come in. Once I give him permission to leave “place” I take the leash so that I can control him. I tell my guests what to say and how to show him to get off. For me I have them firmly say “off” and almost make a swimming motion with both hands once firmly to kind of push him off. They have to ignore him until he’s calm. If they go to pet him and he jumps they say off again and push him off and ignore him again. This can continue for up to 15 minutes at first. Now it only takes a few times and sometimes he doesn’t jump at all. I like to have the leash so that I can give him a “pop” every time he tries to jump on them and I say “off”. Energy is really important. People see a puppy and get excited. Just nicely ask them to stay calm and ignore him until his energy is better.

    As an owner, I wanted to chime in. The number ONE problem: coat maintenance. Doodles need a bath and a clip every 3 weeks. No exceptions.
    Doodles want to be on you 24x7. This is annoying.
    Our potty training took 6 mos and 2 utis.
    people want to talk about how beautiful or cute doodles are.
    They're still dogs And they need more exercise than most people expect . They're dogs. They get muddy. They like digging in dirt and chewing bones. These are not Persian cats or something. People get so enamored with the doodle gaze. And they usually say they're getting one and this will be their first dog. A year later you see them with a never groomed matted doodle.
    On the upside, my doodle will sit for an hour and watch my daughter do her make-up and hair and then she will run around outside with my son and play frisbee.

    My family is allergic to labs so i had to get a goldendoodle for hunting and i was scared because he didn’t have that natraul bird drive, turns out he loves duck hunting more than i do😂 if i dont take him in a hunt, is just sad all day until i bring him back some birds to retrieve!! I think u should really try it and see how yours turns out, i had no prior experience with bird dog training and have done minimal training with him and he is just an average duck hunting buddy just has a hard time finding birds in the thick brush.

    Stonnie, What do you think about raising siblings from either the same litter, or siblings from different litters? Should either or both be discouraged? Our Yellow Lab's parents just had another litter, and my wife and I are considering adopting one of her sisters. They are about 15 months apart in age. Thanks in advance.

    • @StonnieDennis
      @StonnieDennis  5 років тому +1

      I don’t see a problem with it. I think it’s a lot easier to raise two puppies than one, myself.

    • @emmamemma4162
      @emmamemma4162 5 років тому +1

      It's called the "littermate syndrome", look it up to hear different opinions on the matter. My understanding is that it is the puppies being the same age that sometimes causes problems, doesn't really matter if they are from the same litter/ parents or not.

    • @StonnieDennis
      @StonnieDennis  5 років тому +1

      Emma Blomqvist Oh, I know exactly what it’s called. That’s a nonsense theory though...

    • @emmamemma4162
      @emmamemma4162 5 років тому

      @@StonnieDennis Yeah, I was thinking that other people reading these comments might want to do their own research, so that's why I put the name there.
      I guess if you try to make it a universal rule never to get littermates, that could easily be disproved since many people have great success bringing up siblings together. Still, there might be a grain of truth in the notion that people need to watch out for some of the dynamics described with the littermate theory if they have two young dogs (and especially if they are not experienced with dogs).

    • @StonnieDennis
      @StonnieDennis  5 років тому +1

      Emma Blomqvist I raise litter mates all the time. With a little bit of basic knowledge, it’s a lot easier than raising a single puppy.
