Jaz I've always loved your reviews, they always give an opinion on both the pros and cons of the game as well as the finer details such as frame rate loss and resolution. This game totally wasn't on my radar until I played it at EGX. I loved it then but thought I'd wait for reviews before purchasing. A lot of the day one reviews seemed to focus on the pc port so it's good to hear the view from a ps4 perspective.

You also forgot that after you beat the game you get new modes, new weapons, and a 3rd viewer......you can play the game multiple time but Akuma mode.......... Dark souls all over but I enjoyed the game overall
You Have To Admit That The Save room music when you see the mirror really is worth listening too.......

I agree with every gripe you've said but I agree about the exciting but intense moments in combat where I had to improvise. Overall an excellent game. This is my favorite game genre

Good review though, Jaz! I'm really tempted to pick this one and Isolation up even at only 20% discount or something. I really hope the Steam Halloween sale will give us at least minus 33% on TEW, Alien Isolation and Shadow Of Mordor.
Lol I also hope that both Dark Souls games can somehow be fitted into the halloween sale. But hey, they DARK games not only in name, but themes, right? So they'd fit a halloween sale.
Anyway, went off on a bit of a tangient there. I applaud your honesty in this review. Many reviewers really like the game, but fail to provide any negative or at least constructive criticism at all. The only other guy who provided glaring (granted: SUBJECTIVE) issues with the game is Elder Geek, a reviewer I highly, highly trust.
I knew it, somehow I stayed clear of that mistake throughout the actual Shadow of Mordor Review.
Isolation is such a great experience, more so if you're an alien fan. Thanks.
I watched Elder's review a few days ago. Definitely one of the more superior reviews on youtube, publications included.

Honestly, you always do great reviews giving the games fair scores and then people watch shitty reviews on shitty channels and get deluded into buying crappy games because of such paid reviews. It's not that i'm boot-licking or something but really it's infuriating to see people watching reviews because they have high view count while leaving great reviews as yours. Anyway, I hope you will become a popular reviewer one day, just keep up the great job ;)
It does wind you up when people go to certain sites (no names needed) and believe their hype and buy shitty games and the real classics get slated.

so Infamous Second Son is still pretty much second place for game of the year after Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor.
Got a good deal with the PC version and I'm like 4 hours in. I've gotta say, I like it. Yeah it's not completely smooth and everything, but it's a properly sick old school horror trip so far.
Hi Jaz, I like your reviews (even though I would've given The Evil Within a 8.5...) but I have to point out something that has to do with the audio quality of this one, I think you tried too hard to achieve that "radio commercial" sound for your voiceover...and doing so you overdid the amount of low cut. Leave some low frequencies next time and cut only under 150-100hz (or even a little higher, but this is way higher). That's all...I subscribed so I'll keep checking your reviews.

I like the style of the game, it reminded me of resident evil and outlast (which are great games) but I don't like this game i don't know why but I don't. And as a side note I don't like the graphical style (not that graphics make a game). I just thought this game was a 'meh' at best but... Great video jaz!
If this is old school survival horror with the RE4 perspective then I actually might enjoy the gameplay.
Awesome game!! 7.5 is a little low though
it's an awesome game. the only problem for me was the protagonist and some heavily action based sequences. Otherwise i'd easily give this a 9.5 but it remains in the 8 or 8.5
Does anyone else think the opening song for this game sounds a lot like "Hurt" by Nine inch nails?
This has been one of my most anticipated games so far it looks great seems creepy but JAZ its not as hard as like a dark souls is it because if so I might not purchase it I would really appreciate your reply also great video!
It's not a hard game to be honest you just have to make sure you search everywhere for ammo and save your powerful weapons for bosses, if you always make sure you've got explosive bolts crafted for bosses and shotgun ammo you'll be fine :p
Should I get The Evil Within or Advanced Warfare? I've played both and I think I like The Evil Within slightly more but I'm already done with 9 and a half chapters of the game. However I've also already beat the campaign for Advanced Warfare but I like the multiplayer so that will keep me entertained. Which one should I get please help guys

Unfortunately, you didn't surprise me a second time in a row. (after Alien: Isolation) It didn't seem interesting at first and it still isn't. But I think it would be really good for the hardcore horror players with dedication and 1337 SKILLZ

Ive never really been a fan of asian games like resident evil or final fantasy. The only one i love with a passion is metal gear and metsl gear solid
Am I the only one who can barely listen to this without getting a headache? Not because of the content, but because the hissing sounds are way too loud. Maybe you should try doing something about that. Apart from that, awesome review. I'll probably give the game a pass.

No they can't come back to haunt you if you don't use matches. Did you even play the game?
+JazReviews They don't come back. They come back if you don't kill them, if they just fall to the ground or get knocked over. However, once they are dead, mean they dropped the loot, they won't come back.
Are you sure? I'll admit my mistake of course but I was dead certain at the time that you had to burn them. I did some research myself to confirm that. Apologies if I'm wrong.
+JazReviews Don't worry. But I'm playing the game right now and, if I burn the bodies, it's just in case there is another "living" one close by, that could die by the incineration of the other one ^^
But nevertheless, I still don't like leaving the corpses behind... It's a matter of extermination :D
I don't like psychological thrillers. Games of Movies. I also feel when making a horror game, you should be comfortable with the shooting controls, and ammunition should be plentiful.
Plentiful ammo? I think cod might be more your speed.
Then it wouldn't be survival horror if it had plentiful ammo.
Limiting ammunition is a lazy way of making a situation more difficult. I would like to see the ai be programmed creatively to beat you with a lot of ammunition. Not just make the enemies sponges either like in Destiny. I duno im weird bro.
am i the only one seeing all these stolen game mechanics? Silent hill(as he mentioned) Combat system from "Last of us".ect ect.
Is it really worth it on ps3?
Yeah it is. Its not a game that's was build for next gen consoles and has been dumbed down fir last gen. Its a load of fun and its scary as shit. Its kind of like an "earth based" dead space.
So should I buy this or Alien Isolation?
