I remember my first part time job while at college. I worked for a company in UK called bhs. They used to throw away bags, big bags of sandwiches and all kinds a food. Was discussed to see this. So many people in the world hungry and in need of something to eat. Because they had money they think yeah its OK we'll just pop it in the bin. I used to go back after work just to take a bag out for the homeless guys around the local town. Even had a couple for my walk home. Want nothing wrong with them lol.
I wish there were more people like you, I am 58 now and lived in a lot of places, have been doing this since I was 18, I just hate to see food wastage, this is what is wrong with the world
Sweet cold food haul! You have enough for you, your relatives that live nearby and whomever else you share with for at least 2 weeks if you share. A month if you keep to yourself.

I never know what types of grocery stores to even look at their dumpsters, and I'm always so nervous I'll get in trouble 😬
Look up the rules for your municipality in your state. Federal law states dumpster diving IS NOT illegal. So, city and state
Oh man that's a score! You can freeze the cream cheese and other cheeses!
I worked in a cheese factory for 38 yrs . You can freeze the shredded and the yogurt kids eat it like ice cream. The sliced cheese will crumble if you freeze it.
Eggcellent finds and the dewalt bag can be used for so many things not just tools.

Well done you guys ,in a world where there is so much poverty and food is just thrown away it's a crime not to grab it Skipping or dumpster diving is a smart thing to do, all that stuff is so fresh still .The system is set up to fail the 99% of us it's only the elect elites who get to enjoy this place, so we have to do what we can for our families .💖

I don't mind places throwing stuff away. That way at least some of us can get out and Salvage it. I would prefer them donate it for sure but it is what it is. What really gets me though is when they destroy the stuff will make it all gross and yucky. Very much uncalled for.

You can freeze cheese and even eggs one diver freezes them in ice cube trays when they freeze take them out and put in freezer bags and they will stay good for a while and you can take out how many eggs you needs that was a great tip! From a fellow diver

We hit 2 dumpsters like that after hurricane laura. We were told if the frezer is out fir longer than 4 hours it has to be dumped. We git tons. All srill frizen, still good.

Yes, eggs & cheese can be frozen! I agree with you that the store cooler went on the Fritz.
Same thing we seen in Petco dumpster today broken fish tanks but we did get 5 ripped bags of dog food which our dogs love!!!!

Literally the only way to waste all that food (any organic material really) is to toss it into a dumpster wrapped in plastic. At the very least it could be composed. Corporate waste is so ugly and shameful. Thank you guys for doing what you do!

About once a week in one of r stores they throw away cases of Pizza...Eggos..Hamburger...Ice Cream etc. I always grab what I can and give to people that need it. Unfortunately the ice cream is always melted darn it.

These store should be giving it away to people in need. If not I will do some diving myself

I love it, everything you grabbed freezes really well. If you freeze the cream cheese it will lose most of its moisture but you can still use it for baking & cooking any recipe that calls for it.

Sometimes so much of a good thing is overwhelming. When you find a stash like this, it's hard to believe that stores throw away this much stuff. They're doing it by law and to save their tale from frivolous law suits from just love to get what they can from law suits. It's harder to sue people these days though. Get what you can. Maybe you have a large freezer. Great find just be careful that they aren't recalled items.
The shred cheese you can freeze. Does well. Eggs crack open and freeze in ice cube trays and move the freezer bags. Nice Haul.
Once it's in the truck it is legally yours. If they try to take it out of your truck it is legally stealing. Check your local laws. I had someone attempt to take something out of the back of my truck my boyfriend told them he was calling the police for attempting to break into our vehicle and they stopped and just asked us to leave. Never said we couldn't come back lol
my dad was diabled didnt have a job...so i had to dumpster dive just to eat as a kid...my uncle worke at a grocery store and would tell us when they dumped the good stuff sometimes they would throw away hundreds of dollars of chesse in wax after it had expired 1 day..30-40lbs of sharp cheddar just in the dumpster and boxed goods as well.

Why didn't the store consider calling a food bank - what a waste
High pitch voices travel far. So, if ur near back door employees don’t laugh or react in high pitch cause they will hear and come out. Laugh later... 🤣🤣🤣. That’s an enormous amount of food! U can crack eggs open and freeze in 3’s for breakfast.

Looks like we all scored in the last dive!!!!!! Yesterday I couldn't believe how much cat food was in the dumpster behind the Petco !!!!
And then all the expired chips behind the Dollar Tree.
I checked all the cat food for recall, HOORAY it was only expired, and only a few days gone. All I could think was ........OMG STACEY WOULD LOVE THIS...Love y'all...

Nice grocery haul! That's a small fortune in cheese alone! I predict scrambled eggs for breakfast, egg salad for lunch, and quiche for supper with a side of deviled eggs!
This normally happens in large stores where they have huge long coolers and the cooler goes down. When's the coolers go below temperature allowed they can no longer sell the food so it is thrown out.

Great Hall you guys Great Hall and we freeze cheese and cream cheese and stuff like that all the time and you know make little individual omelet bags and freeze those things just put them in boiling water to cook them put bacon bits on them or onions and peppers and all kinds of stuff and that's what we used to take camping or just to make a quick omelette in the morning Bagon all in boiling water
