      Dates/raisins : is like straight glucose. You eat it after fasting/replenish energy fast after strenuous workout. Unless you are consuming very little.

      Liver and onions , rotisserie chicken , Steak , eggs , ham my CGM will only go up less than 20 -25 points on each one of those foods even if I mix twotogether... Then from around
      90 points to 140 points high after eating just a half handful of pineapple 🍍 , Strawberries 🍓 , Blueberries 🫐 , and when eating just Strawberries it runs about 135 points as the high ... I put type 2 diabetes behind me and I eat Ketovore with under 20 carbs per day total now but when I was type 2 I was counting my total carbs per day at between 50-60 carbs per day , then I cut that number in half and felt really good so I stayed at under 20 carbs per day ...
      I hope this helps you , Dave .

    I believe what you're missing is Carbs if something has lots of Carbs in it , your for sure are going to spike your blood sugar numbers - Levels ... The more Carbs you eat the higher the Spike , I'm Ketovore under 25 total Carbs per day and I have put type 2 behind Me and will never go back to higher Carbs .
    Try this one out beef , butter , bacon and eggs eat until full and at least under a total of 30 Carbs per day and you'll be shocked at what you find ... We have been lied to for many years from the big companies saying it's bad for us which is a lie ...
    The Big companies just want your money at any cost to you because they don't care about you , they care about their big raises and thier stock holders , really sad but FACT ! ! !
    May The Lord Bless Us All !

    • @HealthCoachKait
      @HealthCoachKait  5 днів тому +4

      Well yes of course. Carbs are broken down into sugar and that’s what causes the spike. Avoid carbs and your blood sugar will be stable with a few exceptions (poor sleep, stress, too much leaner protein and not enough fat, etc.) I try to meet people where they are at and the vast majority of people are not going to cut out carbs entirely. Rather than preaching something I know is not sustainable and most won’t be able to stick to long term I focus on smaller changes which will yield the same result. Glad you have found something that works for you and thank you for sharing! And appreciate the tip ❤️

      @HealthCoachKait Thank you ,
      I ate the American diet all my life, and it leads to death , I was knocking on that door because I never knew the truth and the correct way to eat ! All the companies that say their here for us to help keep us safe are absolutely lying to all of us ! Doctors treat us only ...
      We are the only ones that can Heal ourselves... if you care about yourself !
      It was difficult until I kept learning and was able to look past all the lies that are all over the internet, and some get paid to post them to keep us sick, so we will keep buying thier meds -foods etc ... Look at research and studies on humans, and their you will find the truth ... food and meds .
      I understand your position , help everyone , and then if they won't listen, we both know what's going to happen ...
      The proper human way of eating is the Carnivore way or Ketovore low carb . This goes back thousands and thousands of years ago from our ancestors ... Beef ,Butter , Bacon & Eggs it's a simple and easy way of eating and will save your life ! The body will heal itself !
      It was nice stumbling across your channel , Thanks, have a great week and a better weekend !

    Just got my fasting insulin level back after I bought a Walk in Labs test online, and got it drawn down the street. I have been carnivore since last October (24) except for a week on non sugar free cough drops which I was duped about- now called “cough drop Gate”. My fasting insulin is 5.7, so I know I’m on the right track. Will continue carnivore and retest in March.🎉

    The Lingo CGM is over the counter in the US. A 2week monitor is $49, a two pack is $89. I did 2 weeks over the Holidays, then 2 weeks later started my second 2 weeks. Amazing information, and appears quite accurate as to trends. I do find the actual glucose value to be slightly low, but not a big deal, as the trends are very correlated with what I’m doing.
    Probably a 2 week test is adequate, I’m checking a few more habits in my second period. I did correlate with finger stick monitors which are way more variable and tend to read a little higher. Interestingly I found that after trying 3 different brands that they give way less info and the inter device variability is high. The Keto Mojo is my favorite and the Accucheck is ok, a third cheaper one was crap(the first one I bought)
    BTW I was considered pre-diabetic when I started all this, but not more than 10 pounds over ideal body weight. I also was a relatively “healthy” eater with regular exercise. Was low fat, with lots of “healthy” veggies and fruits, starches, but some sugar. Went low carb, no sugar or starch, with time restricted eating, and it’s clearly helping my blood sugar, energy, and sense of wellness. Have lost the 10 pounds very easily and am rarely hungry now, and have to focus on eating “enough” to keep my weight appropriate. I usual fast about 17 hours which is amazingly easy, and I work out at the end of the fast most days with excellent energy always, before I eat lunch as my first meal.

    Used a Stelo when it was released. Bought 2 but have only used 1 so far since I didn’t want to add to the stress of the holiday season. It was interesting but not as reliable as I expected. However, at 77, my arms are not as “smooth” as someone younger. After reading about how interstitial fluid can be affected by sagging skin, I think I will try the inside of my upper thigh for the second one. I know that alternate sites aren’t considered “appropriate” but it may work better for me. I hope so.
    One thing I learned from doing finger sticks is that “resistant starches” don’t necessarily have consistent results. Just because potato X which was cooked and cooled before eating on day x produced no spike in blood sugar, doesn’t mean that potato Y, eaten under the same conditions and in the same amount won’t. After checking out available information, I found that a) the amount of resistant starch that form during the cooling period (which can vary considerably) and b) other environmental factors such as too little sleep will influence blood sugar spikes.
    I love the intrigue of it all. It’s a puzzle to be solved about ME.

    • @HealthCoachKait
      @HealthCoachKait  4 дні тому +6

      Blood sugar results vary for SO many different reasons, but the same principles still apply. Fewer carbs = less of a spike. Better sleep = better blood sugar control. Pairing carbs with protein and fat = less of a spike.
      I understand where you are coming from to a degree, but I believe I make it clear that I am not diabetic and that this is just what I specialise in and the clients I work with. And one of the main principles I focus on on my channel is that blood sugar matters for EVERYONE.

      The numbers can be significantly off in either direction for a myriad of reasons. Compression lows. Too cold. Too hot. Hormones. Or just off. That’s why endocrinologists recommend double checking with a test strip before T1’s treat highs or lows.

    Tried the Freestyle 2 I believe, didn't work half the time and kept waking me and saying my sugars were too low. Or, didn't work at all. Haven't tried another brand. I'd love to have one, which ones actually work?

    OK what are the foods and what is the results! Was looking for a chart or table rather than you just talking & talking & talking.
    Yes its nice to know the procedure, equipment and some other history. But again was looking for the results.
    Was that one to the too many links below that was not labeled correctly?
    BTW: I'm subscribed & watch most of your content.

      I have short form videos (60 seconds or less), mid-legth videos (under 10 minutes) and longer videos like this one. If you go to my "Blood Sugar" playlist those might be the length of content you're after ❤️

    Glucose testing is only a ROUGH guide. Lab testing is the ULTIMATE. But you can't do that EVERYDAY!
    Every time you prick your finger tip, every second, at THAT same spot, the blood sugar is going to be DIFFERENT.
    Your heart pumps blood throughout your body on average speed of about 3 to 4 miles per hour..
    Each trip, and all along the way, your blood glucose is NOT the same.
    To muddle matters even more, some people do not take into account interstitial fluid from the first blood drop.

      I have had channel memberships $1 and $5 per month that offer early access to all of my videos since 2020. Why is that an issue? 😅 They all become public. And no one is forcing you to join. Being subscribed is free.
