People are leaving due to overdevelopment. DS did not vote for farmers. The Space Coast is loud and kills wildlife. It is way too active and loud, driving down home and land prices. So Florida has a surplus, but the people are suffering from the highest inflation in any state. This is not a working state. Your taxes are just collected in other ways. What has he done for farmers as opposed to developers? We have way too many empty homes. Don’t move for politics because politics change. Florida will be purple again with huge spots of blue. Many people are leaving because politics are too hot here. DS could care less if you leave. Not interested in growing real communities. Just roads and megatropoli.

Our rent went from $500 a month to $1500 a month. Is 5,000 homeless veterans in my city alone. To have a check and a job and still can't afford rent & electric. You can find an apartment you can afford but you can't afford to turn on the electricity. And you can't rent an apartment without turning on electricity 🔌 it's a double-edged sword and I do still work for the government and I still can't afford rent & electric. The biggest joke of all is that I used to work for HUD housing 😄👍

He also has there's not one housing agency that would take his name there is no list they shut all those agencies down over 3 years ago because of covid. We ran out of housing in the State of Florida and we're still waiting for governor DeSantis to build one apartment building. He promised that the first time we elected him and hasn't done anything we live directly across from the Air Force Base we used to work for!! In the street... They don't even have a list for terminally ill veterans who are dying I have two years to live and they can't find me a place I can afford to live. I'm still active duty for the federal government I'm a law enforcement officer living in my car dying of cancer and they can't find me an affordable place to live... Any I've been searching for over 3 years since my husband died and I became homeless and got kicked out of my home because I could no longer afford the rent.I was in home hospice with two oxygen machines unable to care for myself and got thrown out by my bosses from FEMA! When a hurricane took my house away!! 😔

Price gouging is happening in Florida in real estate! The price of housing and property is outrageous.

Produce comes from Florida. So if it is so expensive at the grocery Florida has power to bring it down.
Florida cannot supply everything you find in your local grocery store. Many products you consume come from other states, Florida plays a role in feeding the nation but it is far from self sufficient. Florida is famously known for its citrus production, so lets say the Floridian government were to subsidise it, well now the government pays more and it will come out your pocket in some other way, (taxes, budget cuts, etc). I think its unrealistic to expect the government to subsidise food, I hope I gave a decent explanation why its not being done at the moment.
The real estate cost and property taxes are way too high!!! The real estate market is greedy and too expensive. Or you wouldn't have people living in hotels

I agree prices have been skyrocketing and in many places once affordable have now become unaffordable. But, what is the solution to the issue? Florida has become very popular and sees many migrants come in from states like New York, and Califronia. Those places are notorious for their high prices and those same people moving into Florida are willing to pay much much more for the same property.
Gov. DeSantis, being that Florida is inundated with a heavy population and cars at every turn, I barely recognize the real Florida. But I applaud you for championing the manatee, quality water improvements, and keeping more land pristine. However, the money going into the illusion of the space program and its associates is government waste.

We need a high speed highway that runs diagonally from Orlando to west of Tallahassee. Kudos on reducing debt. We need to modernize our energy infrastructure with Solar only on roof tops and non-fossil fuel power plants. Replace the new nat gas plants with nuclear power plants or maybe tap the temperature difference in the ocean thermal cline. We need nat gas as fertilizer feed stock. Since florida does not experience earthquakes change the florida electric code to bury shielded power lines.
