I just used this video to get my Lord Solar Leontas painted in day and on the battlefield within a week of buying him. However, he was obviously surprised at such a fast deployment, rolling four ones for his first two turns of shooting (before dying to an Imperial Knight Warden's fist). It's great to have these videos as a resource for when they're needed. Many thanks!
That extra little bit of narrative you added to the base really makes a difference. I love when a special character is given a bit of local flavour. It's always nicer when you have that tie in instead of some bedroom poster come to life.
What a gorgeous model. GW has done a great job sculpting it. Your paint job and your custom base design look great!! Thank you for sharing this video with us. Keep up the great work you do for your channel, and viewers.
Love how you've made it fit with the rest of your army. I can't wait to see him in a battle report to see if he is as deadly as Creed was in the last one. I'm currently sitting waiting on the postman dropping a new model through the letterbox so this video helped distract me from pacing up and down the hall 😂
Great idea on making him fit more with the colour scheme of the rest of the army. He looks like he leads a charge like Maximus at the start of Gladiator rather than just coming in at the end for the propaganda photo like you said
Epic and masterfully executed. This is the scheme I was envisioning and there is a surprisingly small amount of pictures / videos doing it up this way. It's classic Cadian, yet very different from the box art. This video helped confirm that I wanted to take my model in this direction. Matching the rest of my green Guard army. Also, that basing is incredible and making me reconsider using the stock base. May need to donate a couple of guardsmen from either my Bits Box or even my other Cadia Stands squad sprue to do a simliar thing with the diorama effect. 10/10 video, easy sub. Will do from my other channel as well, Mo Magnets.
Custom base is awesome but i think that kreigsman doesnt need anyone to scream at them or be motivated, they would go and die without it. So its better that it was regular guardsman just for accuracy!
Wonder if the release of Lord Solar Leontus is a tester to see if people want various Lord Commander characters of if this is more of a template, hence the lackluster official version, for people to turn him into any Lord Commander that fits their army better with some slight modification, like a Lord Commander Tempestus or some such.
Trop 👍 !. Je fais actuellement l’ascendant d’Horus !. Je suis entrain de le peindre selon tes schémas de couleurs !. Ps: j’ai eu du mal à coller les griffes !. Elles sont un peu fragiles !.
I think the design of the mini itself is.... well, aggressively terrible is probably the most kind way I could put it. However, your paint job and the basing with the trenchers does elevate it AT LEAST to halfway decent looking. Now if the model were just not a piece of ported over AoS garbage... I would actually call it great looking.

The curse of a newly painted model is as old as war gaming. Glad the video helped.
Andy you are beyond talented! Thank you for the content!
Thanks so much man, really appreciate the comments 🙌

Cheers pal. Appreciate it

Hahaha glad o could distract you for a bit. And yes he will take to a field of battle very soon.
Honestly, this looks so much better than the GW scheme, I love it!
Thanks so much, that’s great to hear!
man that base looks amazing! :D really well done
Thank you.
You beat me to it! This is exactly what I was planning on doing with mine. I may do a head swap though. Great work as always.
Thanks pal. Hope the head swap goes well.
That base is awesome. Fits right in next to the rest of the army AND looks amazing
Cheers pal.
Absolutely wonderful!!!
Cheers pal
Stoked for this!!!!! Lord Solar needed a different color scheme for sure.
Glad you agree! He just doesn’t didn’t look right to me!
This is the nicest one I have seen yet well done
Aw cheers man, appreciate that!

No i shall never think of him in any other way. And that makes me happy.
Amazing paint, amazing base. As always, your videos are such a pleasure to watch!
That’s far to kind pal. Thank you.

Appreciate it pal. I just have the mo magnets a sub there pal.
@@MediocreHobbies Awesome, appreciate it back!
@@MediocreHobbies Legend.
Love the base. Just great.
Cheers pal.

Fair point.
great paint scheme. worked wonderes on that mini.
Thanks
Turned out great!
Thank you.
I thought the best way to paint was as an AoS Freeguild General on Warhorse.
Hahah it would work very well.
This model is not the pinnacle of bosses, its the pinnacle of price racing. A dude on a horse for 60 stones, lol.
Thank you.
That green armoured colour scheme looks so much better omg. What's your opinion on Seraphim Sepia vs Agrax Earthshade?
I much prefer the sepia. Always have. I thinks it’s softer and leaves a better tone. I don’t use agrax if I can avoid it.
cool base
Thanks pal.

That would be really cool. I love that idea.
Welp, once mine gets here, if I can make it look about 4% as good as this, I'll be happy
Hahaha far to kind.
How did you prime that? I want to try and get a similar colouration for my own one
Spray chaos black and then spray grey seer.
Great job as always... but more Middle Earth!!
Yea sir.
It would almost feel more fitting if he was behind the trench instead of in front of it as an actual lord commander.
bruv probably charges headfirst into battle like king theoden! he was just back there checking in on the boys
Hahaha yes for sure.
Na this beast wants the fight.
Deadpool is right. Wear red and nobody can see you bleed. Red is a good colour for a soldier.
Hahahaha for sure.

Yes they are. Super glue and activator i believe is the way to go of your having trouble.
