Wow, you guys have definitely been doing a great job with the optimizing! It's so good to see that you're trying to include as wide a variety of hardware as possible-- that's certainly no easy task. And honestly, on the lower quality levels shown here, the game doesn't look terrible at all. I'd venture to say it's a step up from 2.5 for sure, and definitely in the ballpark of the lower levels for 2.7. Best of luck with the continued optimizations-- they can be a tricky task, but this certainly shows that it's paying off in the end!
JayPlays omg love you and your vids. I totally agree with what you said they seem to be working very VERY hard to be getting this out and ready for everyone’s use.

Its incredibly sweet that you are all putting in the effort to do this for players with weaker computers. You're right about your player base not having top tier comps. And I know from experience how it feels to be left out while others play newer games that you just cant run on your own comp. So thank you for helping out those that cant afford top tier

Keep being awesome, guys!(edit: trying to convince my mom to let me get a better computer/laptop so I can use the better graphics... not really working XD at least I know I can still play with the new gameplay!)
I feared upon first following the progress of the anniversary addition that the dev team might pull their graphical punches when it came to the update, since Wolfquest traditionally patronized a younger audience who may be playing on a parent’s desktop. But I am heartened to have witnessed the shining fangs of breathtaking artistic ambition the game has bared thus far. I think This route was a wise decision for Wolfquest, and will help break it out of the zoo-grant-funded educational game for preteens zone of the 2008 version, and into a mainstream, but tenderly appreciative, audience who are capable and willing to pay $10 on a game themselves (no relying on keeping it free or parents’ purse strings). It’s especially smart since now even Indy games may boast excellent graphics: Kingdom come Deliverance, an Indy game, has graphics comparable to Witcher 3, made just 2 years prior by top AAA company. and Wolfquest’s natural beauty is in their vein too, even though I’m sure your studio is even smaller than even KCD’s. I hope WQs missions and AI can be as beautiful as the swaying fronds and rolling valleys I’ve been able to see. My highest praise to the artists and developers, you should be proud of your work. Oh wow you mentioned the Isle! Sadly I can run that game at 60 FPS at max settings but when I put Wolfquest at max, it's only around 25 FPS for some reason

Got the exact same graphics card... I'm kind of disappointed since I'm still quite young and can't get a good computer that isn't secretly a potato. :'D
My laptop runs perfectly smooth on Shelter 2 (its a beautiful game on Steam) but it’s VERY laggy on Wolf Quest. Is it gonna work? Btw it’s only laggy on Wolf Quest multiplayer
You can search this page to see the score for your graphics card: www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu_list.php. Does anyone else almost feel guilty for making the creators and the computer work this amazing stuff that i have no idea what the heck he was talking about but it blew my mind into how much the wolf Quest team has done for us and this game!❤️
This video: This game will be supported on a lot of graphics cards but a good-quality one is suggested, nothing too fancy Me: Ok mom, I'm gonna need a couple thousand dollars and a job because I need an Alienware 17 R5 gaming laptop and every upgradable component i can find with maxed out HD graphics i just need to play this game in ultimate high resolution
My WiFi is so slow the video won’t load for me ;-; but I’ll go to McDonalds or something and watch it! No WolfQuest video will be uploaded without me seeing it :)
I’m hoping to buy a new computer for this. Since my current computer is 12 years old and can’t even play games that give extremely low graphics. I was able to play it for an hour or two before it crashed but it was so amazing. From having the old game compared to this is a GIGANTIC step!! I’m glad I was alive to see this game come alive into this game!
Here is an article we wrote about things to consider when purchasing a computer for games like WolfQuest: AE: support.wolfquest.org/help/purchasing-a-computer
i was able to by the game for my pc a few days ago and i have been practicing a bit to get use to the controls so im all ready and eagerly waiting for when i can play the updated version ^-^
For multiplayer, late idea I know, but on wq 2.7 there are Pack Vs Pack servers where players rp as their wolves in different packs and defend their territory and prey. Something that you could add into multiplayer for servers like these is an option to be in “fight mode” like in single player with fight or flight. Let’s say a rival pack member player is stealing some of your packs food and they won’t back down and leave your territory after your display of dominance. The players can choose whether or not they’d like to “challenge” each other by going to the menu and clicking their name and than challenge. First player/wolf to reach 15 health (or what health you set it as) loses the challenge. This is just a suggestion for multiplayer purposes for some of the wolf players who enjoy those servers 😅
My computer can run the Isle just fine in a server with over 100 people so I was never worried about WQ3. But, this was still a very informative video to watch and I enjoyed it !! And I do also understand that not everyone's computers are as "friendly" with powerful games. ^^; Nonetheless, WQ is looking great as ever.
I can't wait! I have a question, sorry if it's already been asked & awnsered but will mobile and PC be able to play together? Also, great job putting together this game! I met some of my best friends on this game, and I hope it can bring other ppl together too!
We will share more about multiplayer and mobile when we are focusing on those. WolfQuest is available for Mac, Windows, iPhone, iPad, Android & Kindle. So yes, WolfQuest 3 will be available for mobile phones and tablets...at least some of them, and/or in some form. Bigger maps and more animals may be too much for mobile devices with limited RAM memory. We'll do our best, but some low-end mobile devices will not be powerful enough to run the game. We will keep WolfQuest 2.7 (the current game) available as well (for both computers and mobile).

Mobile is going to take awhile. We are releasing the first episode, Amethyst Mountain for PC/Mac on Steam and itch.io, as Early Access on July 25. That will be followed by multiplayer and Slough Creek some months later, then followed by the mobile versions. We’ll then resume development of the next episode, Tower Fall.
I haven't quite heard anything about this from what I remember, but does anyone know what will happen to the cow(?) Farm that you could go to in Slough Creek? Will we still be able to travel to potential farm lands and you know, do things we shouldn't? I'm so nosy, I'm sorry! >

The graphics card I have in my computer is not on that list, but it is the GeForce 710, and it can run games that seem more complicated than this, like The Isle and Jurassic World Evolution on medium to high quality. I think Wolf Quest will do quite good on my computer, unless it ends up like Saurian, which I can hardly get to open haha.

Will we be able to keep the camera focused as well? If not I may have trouble playing. Im not good at controlling the camera. Well thanks for making the game! Can't wait for it to come out. 🐺😀🙂
If the game happens to blow up and become really popular, what will you do? Will you try to merchandise and maybe try to get it to console? Im really curious to see its future after its release if its a remarkable success (and im 100 percent sure this will be loved by millions)

Oh wow you mentioned the Isle! Sadly I can run that game at 60 FPS at max settings but when I put Wolfquest at max, it's only around 25 FPS for some reason

I CAN NOT WAIT FOR THIS AMAZING GAME.
I played the first version, the current, and I can’t wait to play this one!! The evolution of the gameplay, graphics, and systems is just amazing. I am unreasonably excited about this game but I don’t care. Thank you so much WQ team for making these updates and putting so much effort into this!! We all love it!!!
HUAA YOU GUYS ARE SO NICE FOR DOING THIS?? AA THANK YOU SO MUCH :O!!!!!!!!!
Sounds like I can run it. Nice. I‘ll probably play around with all the settings to see if I can get 60fps or close to it but thank you guys for tweaking it so much for us :D
OMG the game looks amazing I can't wait for it to be out
"Further FURTHER complicating things-"
Me: Aaand THAT'S why the game's taking so long, everyone.
I really can't wait for this update to come out! Props to y'all for being so dedicated to the beautiful game you've created and are improving every day!
*Leaves a comment of me screaming on almost every wq dev blog* Maybe I should comment something else?
Nah
WWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! SO FRICKEN EXCITED FOR THIS, DUDES!! LOVE YA!!!!!!!! >:D
LOLLLLL😂😂
The game is going to look so gorgeous *-* also it's really interesting to learn about how the graphics are functioning
I know this video is old but still:
I have to TURN OFF vegetation completely BC our family computer is out of video memory and so if I go onto scent view for too long I will get kicked off the game. So we try to not use scent view if we can help it. For my birthday I might gat one for myself tho so I can acctually experience good quality terrain
A good laptop would be between 700 to 1000. Make sure to look on the wolf quest website for gpu benchmarks.
I bought a gaming laptop _MONTHS AGO_ and was hoping so badly to play the new WolfQuest when it came out. And I have the 1060 GTX (6 VRAM) graphics card on my laptop, so I'm like *_very happy this worked out_*
Can't wait to play the game soon!
No wonder I could only play Wolfquest on Fast- I have an Intel 3000 graphics card-
I have a GeForce 1080 Ti founders edition
@@wolfy297 What kind of laptop do you have like o m g
I have a really old laptop ... with an extremely old graphics card that doesn’t run most games xD but I’ll buy myself a pc in a few months
@@jayjaywolf8988 Good luck with your new pc! Update me when you get the chance! :D
Got the exact same graphics card... I'm kind of disappointed since I'm still quite young and can't get a good computer that isn't secretly a potato. :'D
I can’t wait! I’m getting a Lenovo gaming laptop for my birthday, and it’s just one month after WQ3 comes out!! I’m so exited :’D
If the Passmark score is between 1000 and 3000, the game should run at one of the lower graphics quality levels. If the Passmark score is under 1000, the game may not run at all, or only at the lowest graphics quality with reduced screen resolution.
Wait, u know Shelter 2? DUDE you have a GOOD taste for games!!
GalaxiMations UwU Lmao thanks
@@unsettled3943 Np, thats just a fact.
GalaxiMations UwU I also play the Far Cry games and RDR2
I think this is the earliest i have been also love the game so far! Thank you Wolfquest crew for working and putting so much time into this fantastic game that I LOVE and many others love thank you ❤❤❤💜💜💜💜💙💙💙💙🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺
I’m so glad I decided not only to play on mobile, but on PC/Mac, too.
Im glad theres more of i guess an advanced graphical option that us players can mess with til it fits our own computers, thank you >.
Doubt I will be able to run it. ),:
Same
I feel your pain bud
Yeah :(
Don’t be sad If you have a phone and wouldn’t be able to run it on my laptop (like me) WolfQuest 3 will go on the mobile version of WolfQuest as a update I’m pretty shore
Im sure if you can run the game atm smoothly you can play this version too
Same here... I have to play wolf quest 2.7 in lowest graphics just for me not to lag when walking :(
Does anyone else almost feel guilty for making the creators and the computer work this amazing stuff that i have no idea what the heck he was talking about but it blew my mind into how much the wolf Quest team has done for us and this game!❤️
This video: This game will be supported on a lot of graphics cards but a good-quality one is suggested, nothing too fancy
Me: Ok mom, I'm gonna need a couple thousand dollars and a job because I need an Alienware 17 R5 gaming laptop and every upgradable component i can find with maxed out HD graphics i just need to play this game in ultimate high resolution
Mom: Get a job!
:D
My WiFi is so slow the video won’t load for me ;-; but I’ll go to McDonalds or something and watch it! No WolfQuest video will be uploaded without me seeing it :)
I cannot wait to play it, by the way will Lost River be added to or not?
We are not updating Lost River right now but it will have all the new systems, animals etc.
I have a Mac that runs the isle, wolfquest, and heavy games even on max graphics so I think I'm gonna be able to play it
Márcia Gorski what model is it?
Wait what which one do you have
i was able to by the game for my pc a few days ago and i have been practicing a bit to get use to the controls so im all ready and eagerly waiting for when i can play the updated version ^-^
My toaster of a laptop can barely manage basic tiny games even with graphics turned way down
Thank god for my gaming computer
Lucky
Yes, an optional PvP mode will be coming to multiplayer in the future!
Wow I just found out I have a really shitty graphics card. RIP to good quality wq lol
Very excited for this to come out.
I dont think my graphics card can play WQ 3 on the high settings, but this is a good excuse to upgrade my card lol. Its pretty overdue ;;
Oh I can't wait :D!!! It looks beautiful!
Thank you for considering us who cannot afford a high end pc 💕
IM SO EXCITED ITS GETTING SEMI RELEASED SOOOOOOOOON
Aww I wish I had a PC or MaC 😭 also will this work on iPhone 6

My computer was built for high graphics
Why? So I can p
At my favourite games. Saurian, the isle and the upcoming Wolfquest 3. I like games that look pretty and realistic
The isle! :O Wish my computer could handle that!
What do you usually play as
I freakin' adore The Isle! It's my favorite game to date alongside the new upcoming WQ. ^^
i love how the wolf is so tiny compared to all the trees
I'm a mobile player, if my cell phone / tablet is powerful, will it happen at the time of the PC graphics?

When do u think Mobile
Love u guys
Can’t wait
The graphics r amazing and beautiful
Mobile is going to take awhile.
We are releasing the first episode, Amethyst Mountain for PC/Mac on Steam and itch.io, as Early Access on July 25. That will be followed by multiplayer and Slough Creek some months later, then followed by the mobile versions. We’ll then resume development of the next episode, Tower Fall.
I bought a kinda school/gaming laptop so I'm hoping it has a good card. I want to see what the "Glorious" graphics setting looks like.
Dangit UA-cam didnt give me the notification even though I have the bell on All
Arctic Fox I have the opposite problem, I get emails about channels I’m not even subscribed too
@@berrysantics2342 weird... but yeah UA-cam has been really weird lately

I am hopefully getting a new computer for Christmas and I hope it will be able to run on good quality 🤞

Not anymore or even was since your comment is not far.
I haven't quite heard anything about this from what I remember, but does anyone know what will happen to the cow(?) Farm that you could go to in Slough Creek? Will we still be able to travel to potential farm lands and you know, do things we shouldn't? I'm so nosy, I'm sorry! >
We are not updating the cattle ranch right now but it will have the new systems, animal models, etc.
Will it be playable on iphone 7?

Eeeeee thanks but I am very happy for the game to be out soon
The graphics card I have in my computer is not on that list, but it is the GeForce 710, and it can run games that seem more complicated than this, like The Isle and Jurassic World Evolution on medium to high quality. I think Wolf Quest will do quite good on my computer, unless it ends up like Saurian, which I can hardly get to open haha.
I've never clicked so fast~
All the graphic customizations look amazing!
oh my gosh IT LOOKS SO GOOD! keep it up!
i’m really happy there are so many options for the graphics, i was so worried i wouldn’t be able to play on my flimsy macbook!
We hope it works! Let us know.
Yeah same, I have a 2010 imac with a ATI Radeon HD 5670 graphics card... hoping the game wont look like a potao with my settings, let alone let me play at all.. rip me xd

Once WolfQuest: Anniversary Edition is released, we suggest trying it to see how it runs, then experiment with the settings to see what works best for you. We will also keep WolfQuest 2.7 (the current game) available as well (for both computers and mobile).
I am rather glad I recently invested into my gaming set up... This game such a long way since I first got it when it was just Amethyst Mountain!
Will we be able to keep the camera focused as well? If not I may have trouble playing. Im not good at controlling the camera. Well thanks for making the game! Can't wait for it to come out. 🐺😀🙂
Boring? This stuff is amazing! I loved seeing an inside peek!
I never expected to hear about The Isle from WolfQuest, but here we are
We hear it is a cool game.

I DID NOT REALISE THE MAP WAS THAT HUGE.
It is quite daunting. All the better to explore, though. :)
If the game happens to blow up and become really popular, what will you do? Will you try to merchandise and maybe try to get it to console? Im really curious to see its future after its release if its a remarkable success (and im 100 percent sure this will be loved by millions)
It would be fun to see it on console someday. :D
@@WolfQuestGame it would! Id defintely buy both pc and console. Thanks for responding. Love you and your work ❤🐺
By this I think I can run this pretty fine on at least 2nd/3rd lowest with good/great fps. I feel happier about that :3
I have a question, do you know how when it snows on Wolfquest 3 the snow is on the wolf's back. Well what does the graphics have to be at in order for me to see the snow on my wolf's back. Please help!
If you have fur enabled, the snow effect will happen too.

Maybe this will help: support.wolfquest.org/help/troubleshooting-wolfquest-anniversary-edition but your computer may not be able to run the new game. We are doing our best, but some older/low-end devices will not be powerful enough to run the game. We will keep WolfQuest 2.7 (the current game) available so you can still play WolfQuest.
